Taking the NAVLE | What to Expect | Exam Advice
มุมมอง 4.6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hoping this video helps answer some of your questions, and best of luck to anyone currently looking to take this exam! If you are going through ECFVG and have completed step 3, then you will need to request that the ECFVG contacts ICVA directly to confirm you are eligible, so you’ll need extra time for this. All the information can be found on both websites below. For more information: - ECFVG:...

Hello, congratulations!! I'm currently trying to register to take the CPE this year, i just have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to... I'm from Europe and based in Europe, do I need to get a special visa to go and sit this exam or is the ESTA good enough to sit the exam? I think it should be... Thank you! I would hate it to waste almost 10 k dollars for some missing documents
omg so happy for you congratulations
Congratulations, Janet!!!! You’re amazing!!!
You haven't talked about the difficulty level.Would you say was it easier than NAVLE or is it actually harder than NAVLE?Also can we get a restricted licence after clearing NAVLE without CPE?
I wonder what your English exam results are?
Passed no problem, my writing was average though 😂
Are the questions repeated ?
How long did it take you to register for the BCSE? I've submitted the required documents, but haven't seen any changes in my application. Did you also find the registering process to be quite the waiting game?
Yes, I think it all takes a while. You can't be in a rush for this basically!
thanks for the information
Thanks for the information
I’m writing the exam early next year. Thanks a lot. I wish I have a WhatsApp study group. I’d appreciate if anyone here is interested. 🥂
Great info thanks, cheers
Thank you it was helpful I'm planning to take it this dec pretty much worried about the test thanks for suggesting breaks time during bcse i was exhausted after two hours so it's kind of challenging for me too... If you have got any tips to fast reading questions i mean how to fastly attempt kindly share
Well done for getting through the BCSE and I'm happy the break suggestions helped! Honestly, just do the best you can and practice timing yourself nearer the time for the NAVLE as this is all you can do to improve your speed. The speed is definitely a challenging aspect of it!
Thank you so much I'm preparing through the zuku as they were offering few dollars off compared to vet prep I hope it will help will be back to your channel once I get through that ... Tysm🤝
Hello thank you it is so hard to find informations about Working in the US. Do I have to do all these also before applying in an internship in the US ? Because I will be graduate from Italy in 2026 but I want to specialised in the US, so to match as an intern is it the same path?
If you want the option to work in a clinic which is not a university, then yes you will need to complete the ECFVG. I believe if you specialise at a university in the US you can then work only in universities so unfortunately specialising is only somewhat of a bypass to doing this.
@@catwalkdoctor thank you ! And what about if my university is listed in the AVMA? I was wandering if I do my internship in a university accredited by AVMA does that allow me to directly go on NAVLE even though I graduate in an non AVMA university. I thought maybe by passing by having first an internship on an AVMA school ? I didn't quite understand that part on matching for an another internship or residency. But I also read that even after the NAVLE the visa is not guaranted and hard to get.
Thank you! ❤ Does anyone have information about the communication with Avma(Efcvg) I'm enrolled and passed the english ability test and submitted but never heard from Avma again. Is the process too slow? Is that normal? How long should I wait to hear from Avma? I am literally stuck and dont know what to do. They dont even answer the emails and phones, leaving voicemails and tons of email but no response. Does anyone have similar experience? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I would recommend joining the ECFVG group on facebook and asking this question there as it is more likely to be seen. Also checking your programme details for updates there, it should say submitted, pending or approved for this and then you can move on and apply for the BCSE. Good luck!
@@catwalkdoctor Thank you🙏🏻
did you use just Zuku ? no template or notes ?? is it enough to use just zuku ?
I just used Zuku.
@@catwalkdoctor sounds very good I am still working on my TOEFL but in the same time I wanted to work ahead for my BCSE . Good luck for you for the CPE . ❤️
Thank you, you too!@@simba_AMD
Great infos! Lil question: is there a validity period for BCSE and NAVLE? Like TOEFL/IELTS being 2 years Thank you!
Not to my knowledge.
Hi! Is there any difference between the PAVE and the ECFVG? Do i need to get both of them?
Not sure what the difference is, as I have only gone through ECFVG
If I recall correctly what I read with PAVE you will have to do a full year in an accredited vet school (in the US?) instead of the CPE and its preliminary practical exam! :) But the written part are the « same » as the ECFVG
Hello I am a Peruvian bet student looking up to take the ECFVG. My question is when you finished and pass the exam can you start working? Or what is the next step?
Do you mean once you complete all the ECFVG steps? Think it depends on the state, and since I am not quite there yet I couldn't tell you.
How was the practical exam? I'm scared of it 😮
Terrifying but you get through it! Vet school exams were also terrifying.
as a foreign graduated. can i practice before navle ?!
No, you have to take this first and in most states also the CPE.
Did the Zuku material prepared you for the NAVLE?
Yes, all I needed :)
do you know something about passing the BCSE and NAVLE can you work like a vet with another vet before you pass the practical one?
You can do this with a temporary license. Not sure on the application process, but it's only possible in certain states. The only one I know of is Nevada.
Hi there, I was told by a couple of friends I met over this time of preparing for the BCSE exam that BCSE was much harder than the NAVLE. What is your opinion? Thanks a lot for all the info you sare!
Hi! Personally, the NAVLE was harder because the exam was SO much longer. The challenges with the BCSE is it's a lot of content covered in vet school but less so used if you are now in clinical practice. So in this sense, NAVLE can be easier, but unless you work in mixed practice it's probably still going to be hugely challenging due to the different species.
thanks for your video. i am dvm student i want to do immigration. is there any way for me to continue my studying and get my degree in usa or canada?
I would not know how this could work or if it is possible, at least not to my knowledge. I suggest contacting universities in these countries or the AVMA.
So, to sum up, a good approach could be to answer as many questions as possible, and learn from the provided feedback from Zuku, Right?
Exactly!
Hi How are you
Everything aside, that 4000$ NAVLE fee is so much and if you are a Foriegner that fee triples due to exchange rate. Feels impossible to Pass even appear in NAVLE
It is an incredibly expensive process. The CPE is a whole lot more.
4000?? i thought it was a fee of 740 + international fee
Appreciated❤ I am Dr IrfanUllah University Research Assistant from Pakistan. Will plane the same exam after my joining new job position of Veterinary officer and IELtS.your video is helpful for me.
i am a vet student about to start my final year here in egypt my actual knowledge is very basic even though i pass my exams and all but i feel they are very very basic so from your experience do i really need to re read almost every thing in my college materials? or the info on the zuku site could be sufficient ( i will dedicate about 4-6 months for it ) this question is for both the BCSE and the NAVLE also thank you so much for the video it was straight Forword and very helpful
also do i NEED to practice in order to pass them? i want to give both exams about 6 months and need to focus on them right after i graduate and i have almost zero practical skills i am thinking of working abroad as an assistant so that i can both get experience and save money for the exams but i can never be sure if that's goanna happen so do you think i won't pass the first two exams without experience? i only hope to pass them and get a temporary license and be able to train please if you think any of this is wrong or have a better way to go through with it any advice would be much appreciated
It depends how you find the questions when doing them in Zuku. BCSE is a lot of what you will have done at university, but NAVLE is more clinical based and therefore I would recommend clinical experience (at least 6-12 months) if you can get it. Obviously US students don't have this, but I found it helped a lot.
@@catwalkdoctor thank you I will try to work as a technician or an assistant while studying for the BCSE and hopefully it helps with the NAVLE
Hello. I want to share my experience and my husband. We were preparing with zuku. We finished all questions and timing tests, and got our first attempt to go on BCSE. And we failed 🥲 my husband failed with less 10 points! Just 10! It’s one question. So then we understood that questions from zuku it’s almost nothing! I had no one similar questions form there. You need to take books and articles, in website Merck manual, a lot of information, and from there you can learn it.
Is zuku enough for the bcse? How much questions have you seen in the exam where in zuku?
It was enough for me. I also had 4+ years clinical experience at the time.
Madam, is in UK any post graduate degree for veterinarians, which can obtained for the purpose of registration as a Veterinarian in UK and practice in UK
I don't know what the process of UK registration is, you would need to find this information from the RCVS.
Thank you
Dear Mam can you have any idea about Ireland Veterinary practice exam for foreigners
I'm afraid I have no clue about registration in Ireland.
How is everything Doctor? What State are you practicing in?
Hi! Congratulations on passing ECFVG! Such a huge accomplishment. I'm still in the UK as don't plan on moving over just yet, but CPE is coming up soon. Hoping I pass it 🙏. How are you enjoying life as a US vet?
I really appreciate your video! I have been thinking about going through the process for a while now, but it feels so overwhelming that I haven't had the courage to do it. Your video really helped me get some confidence ☺ I'm off to watch your video on NAVLE now. Good luck with the CPE!
Thank you! So happy to hear this :)
Can you do a video about your CPE experience?
Hopefully once I pass it 😬
Hello, thank you for your video! You said you used Zuku for both BCSE and NAVLE. Did you subscripted for ZUKU BCSE and then ZUKU NAVLE or you just used one of the Zuku courses? I hope this questions makes sense. Thank you! And congratulations for passing!
Yes, I subscribed to each one individually at the time when I needed them.
Congratulations!! Did you did the clinical practice exam? Did you pass? Would you be able to describe your experience and how you studied for it? Thank you very much.
Not yet! I will try and do a video once I have, so fingers crossed as it's later this year.
What if I want to go to Florida and after having everything approved I want to move to a different state, how does that work?
I believe you just need to register in a different state. But, you'll need to look into this as I don't have any experience with it.
My school is not in AVMA ECFVG list and it seems like they won't have a partnership with them😕. What can I do in this case?
I would suggest emailing the AVMA ECFVG department directly, as I cannot answer this.
Please help us out with CPE as well
I'll try once I've done it and passed!
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
I wish I found this video before I spent hours trying to understand the exam info on all the multi-level American websites😂 thank you so much! I will be watching the newer videos soon but may I just ask, when I remember- did you end up taking the practical part of the exam at all?
Not yet, scheduled to do this later in the year though! Glad this helped you :)
Thank you for this really helpful video! I am about to do my step 1 soon, so gathering as much information as I can, to prepare myself! 😊 I have a few questions though. What did you use to study for NAVLE? And did you pass it already? How was it? Are you planning on making a video about it?
I used Zuku Review exclusively, and yes I passed the NAVLE and have a video all about it :)
@@catwalkdoctor hello doctor , I had also passed my bcse and now preparing for navle. So can u help me in regarding that .
@@dharamdahiya2602 Massive congratulations!! I have a video about the NAVLE too :)
Mam can you make a video regarding same but in UK...If veterinary graduates want to practise in UK what is the procedure what exams to give pls tell me i am not able to find info online 😢
I don't have any experience with this process I'm afraid. I registered in the UK pre-Brexit so have no idea on exams or requirements for this now, etc.
@Catwalk Doctor Thank you mam but just in case you come to know regarding same...please drop a video..as there is no information on internet 🥲
@@itzzmesrijan I recommend reading thoroughly on the RCVS website. That is the place to find the answer :)
Hello Dr., good morning. Very helpful video, thank you so much! My question is regarding notes. Did you ever take notes of the answers or the lectures? I signed up for Zuku for a week now (premium), and I am feeling overwhelmed with all the content. I am trying to follow their schedule, but it has been challenging since I also have a full time job. I am taking notes of the lectures and also the answers of the tests (timed and non-timed). Did you ever take notes? Or did you just answered the questions over and over again? Have a great day! Good luck in your journey!
I didn't really take any notes, just repeated the answers until I got them correct. There were some answers I knew I would not remember and needed to memorise (like reproductive cycle numbers in different species as an example) which I would take note of. Then these 1-2 pages maximum of notes would be what I looked at the day before the exam. I think you have to create your own schedule based on your exam date and what is realistic for you. I didn't follow their guides at all.
@@catwalkdoctor it makes sense. Thank you!
@@catwalkdoctor wow you are so smart
hello doc. how i can find a clinic after clearing my navle
Do you mean once you have passed the ECFVG? Just depends on where you want to go, there are vet jobs everywhere :)
@@catwalkdoctor Doc. I want to work in Canada as Assistant vet after Navle So that the finance for CPE and preparation can be managed Can I?
@@dr.s.k.balodiya3234 I have heard of this option, but have no personal experience with it and therefore don't know the details of how realistic this is.
@@catwalkdoctor thanks🙏
Hello doc, how long can we wait after passing the BCSE before registering and taking up the CPE? Does it have to be immediate ?
I think you just have to pass everything within 5 years, but I'm not 100% sure. Check the ECFVG website for more accurate details.
did you pass your bcse?
I did :)
