Picked Hikari as my first traveler and also finished his story first, its definitely one of the hardest final story bosses, every single one after Mugen felt like a walk in the park.
Say what you will about Mugen’s talk of strength and dominance… he more than backs it up. For perspective, the most health any final-chapter boss has in a single, uninterrupted phase of their battle is 100,000 HP. Mugen’s “Enshrouded King” phase alone has 98,000 HP. Not saying a word about his attacks. But expect to endure a lot of them, even at the top of your game.
Bro was channeling HnK's Raoh with his ideology and path to power (patricide, attempt at fratricide, only the strong should rule, the gigachad horse, and so on). His boss sprite, one of the coolest in the game, also helped me buy into his threat level lol
I killed him before he got off any of the moves he’s infamous for. Same for the darkling. The only final chapter boss I almost lost to was the train. In hindsight it would have been a lot easier if I used Hired Help.
During this final strech alone, i spent so much time planning out my entire round while surviving the relentless onslaught of his 4 attacks (in a row) over multiple rounds. Getting to this point after defeating the other 3 bosses, felt to me more or less like a formality by comparison.
Hikari was nowhere near as fucked up as Zuko was at the beginning (Which is a miracle in it of itself, but I digress.). His mom gave him a good vase of values and morals, and it stuck. Plus having Agnea around is bound to make most dudes see things in a more positive light.😊

Hikari even theorized at some point that the travelers might be a part of one of Kazan's big schemes(To which, ironically, some of them were, specifically Temenos, Throne, Hikari, & Osvald).
Listened to most of ost Octopath1 and Octopath2. My favorite by far has to be "Hikari, Way of Warrior" and "Kingship". Well done.

that, and the chapter itself being a boss rush almost non-stop

One of the few bosses I struggled on, because the next one I did was Osvald’s, and OTM nuke builds can hit numbers. Highest I’ve seen him hit was 80k
At the top of my game, I think I beat him with almost going untouched.

Hikari and the Kingdom of Ku somewhat reminded me of Zuko and the Fire Kingdom from Avatar. Too bad he didn't have an Uncle Iroh to help things out...

He did have a Kazan, the Eagle of Ku.

This was the moment hired help became my “I don’t feel like doing all of this from the beginning” button
Amazing fight nonetheless
First!!
