      It was eggs and blinks that started the whole thing as always. They executed the smear campaign perfectly. And they were exposed by the Japanese journalists of the show. And they even falsified false evidence by photoshopping pictures that Seo Taiji himself had to clarify.

    every Artist have their own haters, but BTS haters,damn, they're on different level 😂 this is the main reason army are extremely protective over bts. Many fandoms teamed up to trend hate towards bts, that is ridiculous. Why don't they project their energy to their own faves, the use it for wrong purpose.

    The reason Jimin gets so much hate in particular has been heartbreaking. When BTS got famous in the west, around 2017 it was getting worse since then. He's been kpop punching bag for literally no reason other than being himself.. The double standards, the internal misogyny that makes people dislike Jimin, the justification and normalization of erasing/discrediting him and his talents, the shippers and especially the ones who send hate to Jimin because they think he's getting in the way of their ship. They take it way too far and even send him DT's to this day just because of big accounts spreading the narrative he's taking jk away from tae/getting in between them and stupid things like that. Also the transphobia hate comments he gets on a daily basis. His family gets threats as well on the daily. And anyone who dares to praise him or defend him gets immediately attacked.

    I feel you Nick....same for me with the disgusting hate V received due of his grandma passing, I still remember very fresh in my mind when in the fandom we knew about V's grandmother passing I remember I told my mom about it and I cried a lot specially because I understand perfectly his pain...my grandma she passed away in christmas of 2015 prior Taehyung's grandma and just like V she also raised me for 14 years, she was my second mom, she make me who I am, she wiped my ass off but she loved me a lot, I will never forget her and still hurts when I remember all the moments we had with my grandpa as well early in the days, anyways....thank you guys for your reaction and understanding on all the struggles BTS were and are still facing, at the end BTS and Army have each other and that's all that matters 💜

    There is a simple reason for all this hate in KPop. Extreme saturation. This is my lone observation from years ago & I did not get this idea from anyone else ... KPop is a huge market. I think I saw somewhere that KPop brings in $8 billion right now & is speculated to extrapolate to $20 billion by 2030. I assume BTS brings in a huge percentage of that. This can attract many people (labels) to that kind of money. In a physically small country as SK (South Korea) is, the amount of KPop labels there is big. I don't know the current stat, but one person did say there were 4000 labels at one point, if I'm not mistaken. And since each label may have anywhere from 1 to more bands coming out of them, that creates even more of a crowded space. At the moment, there are probably over 300+ active groups out there. This does not include artists outside the idol industry & also does not include past KPop groups that have since gone. Simply put, the saturation of KPop labels & KPop bands, all vying for your financial attention, is where the hate comes from, because the life of a KPop band depends a lot on finances that come in from fans' wallets & if you are not getting those profits, it's time for disbandment. Of course this is true of bands anywhere else globally. When fans realize this, they will do anything to keep their KPop bands alive & that includes putting down other bands. Sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires. And when fans start to hate, a lot of that hate can also come from herd mentality, in where one fan can subliminally start getting onto the bandwagon of hating simply because the rest of the fandom is hating. Sheeple thinking. And that hate starts to spread to other fans beyond SK, so it's not just from native Korean KPop fans anymore. Now, to add on top of that & has maybe made it worse, is there have been several KPop music TV shows in SK for at least 2 decades now, where live voting happens between songs & artists. You've seen these before on some of these videos. MBC-Music, M-Countdown, shows like that. You might remember that BTS' first ever win on one of these voting shows, the one where they won with "I Need U" against Exid, on the SBS TV show in 2015. The votes on who wins for that week comes from both a live voting studio audience & from live voting at home. Sure, this type of live competition is fun, but it can also spark aggression, either if your group keeps losing or if your group keeps winning. So add these voting shows on top of the hate already coming from fans in a crowded saturated space & you have next-level hate you've never seen anywhere else on the planet. It's a dog-eat-dog world. Killed or be killed. Yes, there is also business competition between labels, but who is to say those labels were subconsciously influenced by their fans to hate & vice versa. So again, I would say the hate stems from trying to keep your favorite groups alive by shutting down groups you don't like. When fans start to realize what they are doing & that they may also be making zombies within their own fandom (herd mentality), then perhaps they may grow a conscience & hopefully stop the bleeding. So it's not only the harsh KPop training system that the world sees, but also the KPop fandom wars & that has kept more potential global fans from being created. BTS still does get hate, but because of their huge success nowadays, the multi-million$ money they've made has compensated for it somewhat. But BTS is still humble after all these years & they still do have some concern. And of course, as noted in the discussion after the video, the BTS hate does not include the xenophobia outside of Asia, because that came later when they got bigger & started touring beyond Asia. And sure, in the US, there had been some discourse & debate on who are the better US artists but it wasn't as bad as in KPop. I remember those fun times during the MJackson-Prince-Madonna-etc days of healthy fanbase competition. By the way, I did not know that xCeleste had made a version of this video essay where she wasn't narrating & it was all just words to read.

    There are so many more issues like these here described in 10min... BTS is a hated group phenomena only explained by their high quality, difficult to achieve from others... 😢 We know Korea society is full of prejudice and criticism towards the difference, but even in western countries the prejuduce against them is huge.
    That's why we Army need to support them and defend them fiercely. I do that constantly around me here in Portugal and sometimes I become a lion mother defending her sons. I don't care. I just do it whenever they are desrespected.

    I don't get why the War of hormone criticism is classified as a hardship. Those lyrics did have some underlying sexism in them no matter how you look at it and they learned from that going forward which is really good. I do laugh about those lyrics now though since they're just so ridiculous🤣Although I get that it's on the list in the sense that people probably just sent them A LOT of hate and the constructive criticism got lost under all that. Nobody deserves that no matter what!

    • @g100-w6j
      @g100-w6j ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The whole song is done tongue in cheek and is purposeful ridiculous, if I can use that word, because it's a song about teenage boys having hormones and just going through the motions all of us go during puberty lmfaooo like nowhere were they sexist and they were actually singing how women r the biggest gift etc.......
      I'll forever be mad that because of everything that went down back then I'll never get to see the song being performed live because that track is a banger and the choreo eats as well

    • @Ker77u
      @Ker77u ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@g100-w6j seriously though like I don't condone any hate but the criticism of the lyrics is/was valid. I've read them so many times! Multiple translations by native koreans and other ones too. I've also translated some of them myself when learning korean just for curiosity's sake. I get what they might have been going for with the lyrics but they didn't really come across the way they wanted to, to a lot of people myself included. As for the line you mentioned "women are the best gift, gift". If you'd read this line out of context of the other lyrics of the song, you'd think it's an okay thing to say. However the whole song only speaks of women as bodies and things to have which is where the misogyny comes from. Reducing women to only their bodies and an object to acquire. You can like the song and listen to it if you want I mean each to their own but people can have criticisms about it even if you don't agree. I don't see the issue with them learning a lesson from it, studying social phenomena as RM said and growing as people.

    • @Ker77u
      @Ker77u ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BTSISMYHAPPYPLACE4VER Misogyny is artistry? There are SO many songs and artists out there that have never had misogynistic lyrics. So I don't really get what you mean by that. Just because there is something worse out there doesn't mean these lyrics aren't bad. Two bad things can exist at the same time without canceling each other out.
      I don't just listen to k-pop. I listen to all types of music from multiple different countries. Even if I had just listened to kpop, it wouldn't really matter. There is a lot of misogyny found in the music industry in South Korea as well without having to compare it to the U.S.

    • @Ker77u
      @Ker77u ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BTSISMYHAPPYPLACE4VER I don't agree with hate but constructive criticism is different. It's part of being an artist to receive criticism for your work. It can be good for your process and usually you learn a lot from it. Just like RM did in this instance. He didn't have to censor himself. He realised what people were saying and did his research. He realised that ohh okay these lyrics didn't come off like I wanted them to and that it was offensive to women. He did the work and grew up. That was a good thing for his future work as an artist! Everyone has freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean your words don't have consequences. Misogyny should always be called out. That is not censorship.

    • @Ker77u
      @Ker77u ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BTSISMYHAPPYPLACE4VER yeah I definitely understand that! There's usually less constructive criticism and more full on hateful speech. Antis don't really like to discuss anything, just say awful things which just never leads anywhere. I have never understood that. It was really nice speaking with you too! 😊 I hope I didn't come off as too aggressive hahah I can get quite passionate about this stuff. I wish you all the best🧡
