I'm wearing a steroid elbow patch right now! But not from dropping a board just from over use! Yes I always used FOUR x braces just for the reasons you mention. Once you go deer tower, you'll never go back! Especially for kids! Had many fun times in deer towers with the kids over the years. Good luck.
