Neil Young is pretty much a musical legend. His live shows are phenomenal, as well. His sound is so recognizable. Thanks for sharing.

Elvis. The King is gone but he's not forgotten.
    Neil brings it!

Neil was one of the few artists that performed with a legendary group with Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young and had a totally insane years as a solo artist as well.

Neil Young is The MAN. Nothing better than watching Neil stomp around a stage for a few hours with his buddies in Crazy Horse. Seen him do it four times, and I would love to see a few more of his concerts. He can do soft folk music or the heaviest sound you can stand. The word "Zeitgeist" is "The Spirit Of The Times", in German. Zeit=Time and Geist=Spirit.

Hell yes! Neil Young is the godfather of grunge. I remember around the same time, he was on SNL. I was a kid and I had no idea who he was. He played "Rockin In the Free World" (which is a must hear) on that show. I will never forget watching him beat the hell out of that Les Paul. I bought the cassette the next day.
About the guitar, what he stepped on is an effects pedal. You can use them to alter or distort the guitar's tone; there are effects like echo, reverb, etc. It's a lot of fun.

I am so glad you reacted to this performance. I have listened to it so many times. There is something about it that just pulls me in. I love it. Thank you. You are the first reaction I have seen of this one. 😊❤

Neil had polio and he never recovered all the strength in his left hand. He still played like a beast.

He is now dealing with post polio syndrome. Whatever body part had the virus starts to atrophy in old age. Had to cancel his 2024 tour

Hell yeah!! Love Neil from this period; I saw him on this tour---it was LOUD. He's got a guitar tone that is like nobody else. You gotta do Cinnamon Girl next, live, from this same tour! And yeah, Neil's got a big red stomp box to trigger his guitar effects, so he was stepping on stuff to activate his guitar pedals

"Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" was originally from his 1979 album Rust Never Sleeps. The lyrics reflect on the death of Elvis Presley and the rise of punk rock, which were timely subjects in the late seventies. This version from 1991 is clean compared to that version, where the guitar tone sounds thicker than crude oil from Canada. The rocker from that 1991 live album to check out is "Rockin' In The Free World". Fire!

You need to react to "My My, Hey Hey" now. Musically, it's a mirror image of this song.
Neil and Crazy Horse are in my top 5 concerts ever.
Like a Hurricane, Cinnamon Girl, Sugar Mountain, I almost Cut My Hair. Neil's catalog is deep.

Just saw him again in May. He and 2 original members of Crazy Horse plus Willie Nelson’s son Micah on guitar. I lucked out, because three shows later they postponed the rest of the tour due to illness. He was rocking for 2 hours straight. And we were treated to an unbelievable acoustic version of Comes a Time. Check out that one.

I was at the last show at Pine Knob in Detroit and it was clear that a couple members were uncomfortable with something. It was a great show, but the chemistry was a little bit off compared to previous Crazy Horse shows I have seen.

@mikemicrael5749 yes, agreed. One waa helped off the stage by Micah. And to be honest they should have been playing in air conditioned theatres. With a day off between shows. The heat didn't help I'm sure.

Kurt Cobain quoted the "it's better to burn out than to fade away" line in his suicide note.

Man…you picked what is IMO the greatest version of this song, and that includes seeing him do it live once (solo). I am unablemto find this version any more. Can anyone help with a link, please?
Mug, I am not sure where this performance was held but often we see huge acts perform in foreign countries and show people of all ages singing along in English at the top of their lungs. Dig it.
Rock and Roll will never dies.

I feel like the 'not fade away' line came from another punk song, but it definitely came from Buddy Holly. I wonder if it's a reference?

You really need to listen to "The Letter" by Joe Cocker, or, The Box Tops who did the original.

You asked "what is zeitgeist?" In German, this means "time ghost (zeit=time, geist=ghost)." When they say that today, it means, "spirit of the time (like '80's, '90's, 2020's, etc.)." Cheers.
