I saw this dude perform last night. I saw no pedals whatsoever. He was amazing. The freaky thing was when he would echo his own voice, with no effects done by anything other than him!
OMG doesn't he sound just like Wolfman Jack. Wow I'm really impressed with myself that I remember his name. God doesn't that bring back memories. As to his rendition of the Led Zeppelin, man he really rocks that sound. He is just fkg stupendous. Totally masterly. There is absolutely no one like him. He's what other impressionists want to be when they grow up.
The jam that starts at 1:24 reminds me of a "stripped out" intro to Henrdix... Freedom...... That would actually be a bad ass jam played out of those chord progressions....
@@Krae75 yeah I know and that's awesome and I'm a huge fan and all but Brody world sounds more like Robert plant although this guy dose still sound a lot like him.

The song that everyone seems to be curious about that starts at 01:23, that's something either custom or from some unknown artist. Whoever it is, it's pretty damn heavy. The voice that he uses shortly after sounds like Tom Keifer from Cinderella. I guess if a person really wanted to find out, they could somehow contact Michael Winslow and find out. I am sure he has a facebook, twitter or an e-mail address floating around somewhere. Poor guy is probably begging for gigs.
i used to think it was only the mouth but he got a litle machine which is on the floor next his feet so he can push pedals that makes he guitar effect you can see the machine if you watch his entire show but he is the fx master!!he is a crazy and complete artist
@yalimbah You are right, I was responding to someone asking what song is that that starts at 1:25, I wrongly said "Whole Lotta Love", but Whole Lotta Love (with his mouth) starts at "1:02" but I have no idea what song starts at 1:25.
hes not distorting it him self hes using a 'reverb' and the feedback from having the mic close to the monitor if you see when its distorted he is right at the front of the stage next to the monitor adding his own voice so you dont just get the high pitched whale noise. Obviously i dont know for sure thats just going on experience when using PA systems :P
yes, but in this video, you can tell he's using an echo/delay pedal and you can't make the distortion sound without a distortion effect. You can even look up some of the pedals he uses, yes, they are minimal, but he does use them for these shows.

Winslow should totally make an 80's rock album. I know he's messing around but he's got a massive voice
Michael Winslow is a legend but should definitely have been bigger than what he is, the talent he has in awesome.
he is the best vocal sound effects person in the world. only person ive seen imitate a guitar just by his vocals.
I don't know how he can make the guitar sound. He's so awsome. Master of sound effects.

@@HoneyNut-r3p Yeah, I guess I was 15 at the time. Time do be flying.
To answer your 17-year-old question, definitely a combination of his voice and a distortion pedal.

I'm just glad to see this clip still up in 2023!
combination of Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, and Michael Winslow
AWESOME
Great performance. As a Zepp's fan I must say this is awesome.
It's just that one part at 1:42 that everyone needs! It's sooo good!
James Kearney the whole video is great, you just don't have a good sense of taste
Soul Eater kid, you know how long ago I commented to this video? Lmao
if michael winslow made an album i would definitely buy it!
How the F*CK did he do that electric guitar on his vocals?! Man that was Awesome..
His microphone is plugged into a guitar pedal, but the sound all originates from his voice.
Yep
That's why he called the man with ten thousand sound effects

Well, now 100,000.
Wtf🔥🔥🔥... Finding this after 17 yrs.. Thanks admin for the upload
Winslow has real music talent, amazing voice.
By the way that song is,"Whole Lotta Love!"

i was gonna write a witty reply but... OH MAN, I HURT MY HAND ON THE KEYBOARD WATCHING THIS! SOMEONE CALL ALANIS MORRISETTE!
I love the Wolfman Jack impression sounds exactly like him
Rob MacLeod I don't know what he sounds like, but to me Winslows imitation sounded like Howlin' wolf
That’s wolfman 😂
goosebumps every time in 0:12.......!!!!!! he is just amazing
People don´t really realise that this guy has a really good voice (and a fucking guitar loool) he could be a great musician, not even joking
JICM25 he is. Look at the clip. 🥁
He is a musician inside
Man theres messages here from 17yrs ago ha ha i was only 17yrs old time is flying by
zeppelin is my favorite band...
and he sounds about as close as possible for a one man show lol
You should hear his Hendrix.
In case y’all are wondering and wanting to know so badly what that song is at 1:24 that has that awesome metal riff, it’s So in Love by Tuff Luck
Yeah this man is amazing!! Loved him in Police Academy and Spaceballs.. Its truly amazing what he can do with just his mouth!!
he's not mocking them, he's impersonating them, before he starts it he says they're his favorite band so he definately wasn't meaning to mock them..
only a man who adores an artist will make such impressions of that artist
Just b/c their his favorite band dosen't mean he wasn't intending to mock them unless he was singing this in tribute to them 🤔🤷♂️🤦♂️🤨..!!??
Let's get it.
@@65coupestang he does it in tribute to them

I'm a huge Zeppelin fan and I love Michael Winslow's work, and I think he did a great cover of the Immigrant Song! :)
I imagine this is how he tells people what he does
Stranger: so what do you do ?
Michael: I'm a professional guitar.
Stranger: player?
Michael: no.
Al McFarland Goddamn this is a quality comment.
the question is, what brand of guitar?
@@lorinrichman6001 probably a fender.
i listen to this every time....... i really love this song.......

@Olsu123 - It may be "Since I've Been Loving You" from Led Zeppelin III. It reminds me of that song.
i've seen this clip hundreds off times and still not bored of it =D
So, where is the Immigrant Song?
After the scream at the beginning he switched to other LZ songs...
What a talent! He's so awesome.
amazingly talented guy... he should be as big as Robin Williams was, or any of those SNL people who just aren't funny but seem to be everywhere.
How does he make those sounds with his mouth? Insane.
Decades of practice.
@@nerissarowan8119 not true. it's impossible to practice that stuff cause no normal average human can do that. Hes a mutant.

he is trully amazing!!!he deserved 250% more credit than he got.

Michael would be an amazing fucking singer if he wanted to he has an insane range and control of his voice

Hail the master of the Simulacrum!
holy shit at 1:24 i thought that guitar was michael winslows voice i was thinking "damn he's REALLY good at this!"
He has back-up for his "Jimi Hendrix" as well?
Michael Winslow is so awesome!
O melhor! 👌
@BassKindaGurl yea, I think he's seriously doing the guitars. The Drums and such I think are recorded
by the way their are no words to describe that level of pain anyone out there who did that leave a comment or like let me know what happened.
Amazing!
What a legend!!
He'd do a good Janis Joplin!
At the beginning his speaking voice was 100% spot on Howlin' Wolf, the blues singer

I was talking about the guitar impression, not the singing (although his Robert Plant impression was good, too).
@BassKindaGurl only at 1:25 he had another bass guitar joining in but the rest ,you bet, was all him,AWESOME!!
Yes! Wolfman Jack. Wow. It’s been a while. I was in middle school.
@gedyssc Sure is - just the original screams were from the immigrant song
