You sir are a godsend! Having someone with a video on an E30 318is specifically made me so much less worried doing it on mine. I know the 318i also has the identical M42 but I was worried I may be missing a distinction.
With the sump nut facing out and the filter upright in the engine, this is probably the only car where its possible to do an oil and filter change without getting even your hands dirty.

Hey mate, I change oil every 10,000kms or less if I dont drive often. Even if you dont drive alot the oil can break down. Its so easy and cheap to change oil so you might as well do it often! Please sub to me!

@Thor Agree and the air filter housing is attached by four clips. Amazing how thoughtful designers can be.
