BRILLIANT. Even from this top couple, the best samba I have seen from them. Spontaneous, light, flying, precise, always perfect timing. Electric show, and lovely dress, and top music.

This is not the original music R&Y choreographed this routine to, it’s fun but it’s why their movement doesn’t match the music!

:48 needs to be improved significantly or removed from the routine. it was cringeworthy in an otherwise fantastic routine.
Em. Couldn't agree more. It's hideous but this isn't the only ugly bit of choreography I've seen from them. I know this comment will be controversial but it so clearly highlights the fact that Riccardo is not a naturally rhythmical Latin dancer. He is a very well trained and crafted Latin dancer and he owes his success to having won a lottery with two simply brilliant lady partners. The first as an amateur an Australian girl Joanne Wilkinson( now retired) and the other of course is Julia. Both brilliant and both carried him to success and he knows it. But that's ok sometimes you need luck in sport and Riccardo has had more than his fair share of it.
Riccardo & Yulia have done every type of samba performances with all different variations & interpretations so having a bit of light hearted fun in one performance should be appreciated for what it is. Lighten up!
Joe Testa I totally disagree & it seems that you’ve gone out of your way to leave negative comments on many of Riccardo & Yulia’s videos than frankly reek of petty jealousy. What you claim is untrue as well, Riccardo’s previous partner never went on to achieve success without him. Yulia danced with Max for 5 years & only won one title proving that it doesn’t matter how talented you are unless you have the right partner it doesn’t mean anything. As soon as Yulia started dancing with Riccardo they started winning titles straight away as Riccardo was a perfect fit for Yulia, bringing presence, substance & masculinity that Max lacked, their musicality, artistry, precision, technique & chemistry together was immediately on show for all to see, hence why they’re now the current 8 time Latin Professional World Champions. Riccardo is incredibly talented & seems to only get better refining his moves every year to a new level, his dancing now is superb especially his cha cha cha!
Hi Bellabana. Happy for you to disagree with me. Jealousy has zero to do with my comments. I have said in numerous videos that technically and as a competition couple they have been as you like to put it in a class of their own, although that gap I believe is closing and there's a few couples now that are throwing out a serious challenge to them. Why you constantly compare Riccardo to max is a mystery to me. Few would argue that Max is not in Riccardo's league when it come to technical precision but Riccardo is not in the same league as Max when it come to imaginative show dance choreography, floor personality and creative talent. They are both very talented but for different reasons. My critisms have been toward the quality of their show work, not their competition dancing. It matters nothing to me how many titles someone has won because these guys are paid alot of money to do these show dances and some of us expect more for our money than what R&Y bring to the table. Many of their show routines aren't much different to what they do in competition. That's possibly why they often don't get the rapturous response from audiences that one might expect. I agree I like their Cha Cha Cha and their Jives, because they fit well with their natural personalities. I am not a big fan of their rumbas and Paso Doble though and that's where my critisms has been. I also prefer my Latin dancers to not be so highly polished and unblemished. It starts to look fussy and somewhat over sterilised to me. I'm sorry that mine and other opinions don't mirror your idea of perfection. But we can agree to disagree.

I just watched this video, too, and I noticed something weird. It was clear that in many situations the movements of the dancers do not match the song, however elegant the dance is.
Looking at the original video, it is quite evident that the choreography here matches completely the song. Would be great to have a video with the original track, even if perhaps it's not possible for copyright reason. As that for me would be one of the best dance video ever! : )
