I think the first part of this march is missing. I don't know why it's not more famous. If it was written by Mozart or even Wagner it would be considered one of the grandest of all marches, but Beethoven's other compositions overshadow it!

@ashraniyyah This painting is by Giovanni Paolo Pannini, who specialized in painting Greek and Roman ruins. It's called "Capriccio of Classical Ruins."

Yes, I am. I'm not alone. Of course it depends on what criteria you use; for me, the criteria is how much a composer affects one's self. I'm not implying that Mozart doesn't affect me, just that Beethoven does so more.

i love how this march grows in intensity and beauty, until it bursts forth in that mighty unmatched beethoven song unto the heavens....!

Are you seriously implying that Beethoven was a greater composer than Mozart? And yes, there are about 3 movements missing in this version.

in a sense, i can say that beethoven is a greater composer than mozart......beethoven had the advantage to build upon mozart, absorbing mozart and adding his own genius to mozart's glorious music.......it is the nature of evolving universe, evolution and revolution....its like saying that verdi is a greater opera composer than rossini. donizetti...."greater" does not diminish others art....
