Oh also a skillet is like a portable stove top, it works wonders.

Hey Mike, you should go check out my high school friend's noodle spot in the heart of the Chelsea Market. It's called Very Fresh Noodles, apparently they've gathered quite the following. Chinese hand pulled noodles. It'll be well worth the wait.
Ippudo is the best ramen I have ever had, hands down only a few others come somewhat close. Whatever they do to their broth is magical. I could eat like 3 bowls in one sitting and lick them clean! And not that the ramen dishes need it, but that secret spicy paste is delicious and makes it mouthwatering!! I love my spicy!!

If there are no ramen places near you, try ordering Japanese instant ramen online or at a local asian market. I'd suggest getting Marutai Ramen Black Tonkotsu for starters. It tastes almost like an authentic ramen.

sorry, but i think ippudo is completely overrated. i started going there a few years ago and quickly realized it did not live up to expectations. went back again this summer and my lady and i both agreed that there are so many other places in the city that are far better.. btw nakamura is at the williamsburg bridge, not manhattan bridge. appreciate all of the hard work you put into these vids, cheers....
Once you have tried Ichiran in Japan, any other ramen you try pales in comparison.... Ever since I got back from Japan, and went around in my country going to all the well-known ramen chains, I had been disappointed again and again and again. The broth I got from all these local ramen chains(ippudo, menya-musashi etc) lacked depth and dimensions of flavour, they were shallow and had just a tad of pork flavour in them.... Worse of all, they cost a bomb. All of them had let me down, and I still dream of the Ichiran, literally, dream of Ichiran when I sleep at night... I desperately cling on to the measly recollections and memories of the flavours of Ichiran ramen, because I know it will be a few years before I can return to Japan again 😢😢😢
took the words out of my mouth. we did a stopover in japan again just to eat ichiran. ate it for breakfast at 6am. ate it for lunch. ate it for dinner.
