Glad to know this is pretty common with old Hondas. I thought my big ass broke it lol
Because of the price I only ordered 4 of these and I replaced just the 4 on the metal brackets I did not do the one near the reclining back cushion.
The price has gone down from what is stated below, I paid $10.78CAD each, so about $7-8USD for each. Thanks for this awesome video
I tightened the bolts as hard as they would go and it stopped about 85% of the rocking, bI hate it moving so I went ahead and bought the bushings. It's weird how these things can go bad, considering they are just tiny metal pieces.

In my case, I have just tightened up the boats. Cheaper, faster, and still holding.

Sometimes it helps just to tighten the nuts, but in my case front bushings were totally smashed.

Awesome video, I missed the order number for the bushings. Only ordered the washers didn’t realize until I was taking the bolts off. I’ll be doing this project twice. Luckily I totally dig this music.
Aren’t the Honda replacement parts also prone to wear? Aren’t they have the same weakness?
Aren’t there better material quality sturdier third party replacement available?
Like weapon-grade steel manufacturing that will carry weight for a century without wearing out?

Are the spacers actually metal wave washers with a springiness to them? Honda calls these ".030 thick washers " in the TSB , but they give strange names to other parts also-John in Texas
There is no springiness in washers, you just need to replace the bushings(bush), part number 13 in the link down below www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-list/2003-honda-civic--4dr_ex-ka_4at/interior_bumper/front_seat_components_manual_height_driver_side.html
So basically I need 6x 90502-S3N-013 and 6x 90503-S3N-003. Correct?
Part number of bushings is 90502-S3N-013, required quantity is 6. All other parts you can put back, you don't have to replace them as I did.
In case anyone is interested, these bushings are $15 USD EACH.
What a bunch of work for such a couple of bushings, but the seat rocking is very annoying, Better do it anyway.

I'm a little lost at the part in the begining where you "remove the pin?" Where is it exactly?
It's in the adjuster, when you remove the cap you can see through the holes the pin, try to remove it with flat screwdriver and in the same time try to take off the adjuster.
What about a civic 2010 coupe?
about civic 2010 model I don't know if it will be the same procedure to fix it

שאלה - הייתי בהונדה אמרתי להם שהכיסא מתנדנד לי ואמרו לי שהם במוסך מחליפים רק את הספייסר זה שניכנס לתוך הברזל...את שאר החלקים לא מחליפים ומעולם לא שמעו על זה.
קניתי רק את החלק הזה, שאלה לפני שאני מפרק את הכיסא אם נחוץ לקנות את הספייסר והחלק השני או שאפשר לשים רק את החלק שניכנס פנימה ( אם אני לא טועה זה המקט של מה שקניתי

אתה מתכוון לתותב אחורי, הוא נמצא מאחורי האום והברזל השחור כאן 4:00 מה שאני מראה עם האצבע דקה רביעית בחלק אחורי אתה מחליף אותו בדיוק כמו בחלק הקדמי פשוט מוציא את התותב המעוך ושם במקומו חדש, לפני שאתה מתחיל לעבוד תבדוק שיש לך באמת תותב מקט של התותב תוכל לראות בדקה 4:30

אני שולף את הספייסר הישן עם מברג שטוח ומכניס את החדש עם דפיקות קלות ? פשוט בסירטון לא הראת ספציפית את החלק האחורי.
לא הראתי כי לא הייתה לי חצובה איתי, כן תותב יוצא בקלות עם מברג ונכנס בקלות

this has been problem with Honda's for the past 2 decades specially on new cars why they havent addressed the issue

@Eat Raw Meat I haven't found a vid yet and I can't find the parts, I'm going to a junk soon just going to look for a good seat or take it apart and make something my self from what ever I got laying around

Had this wobble on a 2002 crv drivers seat , I waked the bush with a hammer and screwdriver and it was a temp fix for a year . Needs doing again but i found out its a common problem with hondas. Might try a bigger hammer.

The part name is: bush or bushings. I've found this components only on the passenger side of your car, on the driver side I didn't find any bushings.

i just removed my 2009 civic's seat, but washers are ok, just back rocks, i don't find the problem :(
Unfortunetely I don't know what is the problem too, maybe you need to buy used one or try to find someone who can help you to fix it.

@@Mr.Ivan3 wow, they are charging over $8 a bushing now; $50 plus shipping. I can just go to a junkyard and pick up the same or better seat for that cost ... must be covid gouging?
@@kuromurasakizero9515 if you live in USA it's cost $8.09 and shipping $10-12, if you live in Japan it's cost $1-2 and shipping $12-15, currently the price of bushing maybe high due to demand, so they decided to raise prices in USA.
@@Mr.Ivan3 You said it needs (6) six. 6 time 8 (U.S.) is $48, plus taxes and shipping. That is over $60 to change bushings on a single seat. These seats are not that wonderful to throw that much to get it to stop rocking, at least in my opinion.
There is certainly a 'shadetree mechanic' way of fixing this issue without paying through the nose ;)
@@kuromurasakizero9515 That's right you need 6 bushings. Another option to fix it as people said down below is you can try just to tighten up the nuts, may be it will help you to fix it without spending money at all.

I dont feel like taking out my seat, anyone try just pulling off the plastic and welding the whole thing so it doesnt move?
It's possible, but then you won't be able to adjust it up and down
