I have no life and I still work part time, but pumping out multiple essays and taking 2 classes at once really helps! I did not wait until I received a grade before starting another assignment. None of the instructors so far have complained that I would turn in multiple assignments.

Damn I commend you. I graduated with my Associates in 1996 and I never ever wanted to go back to school. Long story short was forced to keep my job and procrastinating took me 15 months and all that money. `good for you for doing it that quickly. That’s awesome. Capella got rid of eportfolio

I have these these critical questions: I have my BSN and even in an accelerated program that took me 18 months. I am wondering how Capella will let you complete a MSN as quickly as you did so here are my questions: Would you please explain the capstone and what it is and how long to complete it. I’m back I have 6 classes and my capstone left. My goal is end of March. Possibly first or second week of April. I did 8 classes last quarter and kind of burned myself out . So that’s why I’m a bit slow rn. But I’m doing the last assignment of my last core class and then all I have left are my electives . Which I picked business since I have a business. Soooooo yesssss

Hey Emily! You are automatically enrolled in the first class. Once enrolled in the first class you would need to call academic advisor and askT them to “turn off auto register.” By doing so this will allow you to choose your own instructor. ***make sure you watch my video that goes over choosing your own instructor. If not done correctly you will still be automatically registered.

Hi Jessica! It all depends on what your goals are. If you have no intentions of ever pursuing an MSN (assuming your in the nursing program) then basic will get you through. You do need a 3.0 in most schools to continue on to an MSN. So, my advice would be to keep that in mind. Wishing all the best on your Capella journey.

It depends on the class and your instructor. Some assignments have to be submitted in order. Some assignments feed off each other. So, it’s best to reach out to your instructor and ask first. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you for the tips! I get stuck on the research and taking myself down the rabbit hole with all of the resources available online. How did you stay focused?
Hi MaryGrace, thanks for watching! It can definitely become overwhelming with all of the resources available. In order to stay focused, I used the requirements from the scoring tool to create an outline. Then I looked for resources and saved them to my desktop for easy access. Another thing that I did was take pieces from articles that were relevant to the topic and copy them into the outline along with the source. Then I would go back and begin the paper usually the next day. This allowed the information to marinate in my head. I hoped I didn’t confuse you. Lol. Let me know if you have any other questions. Since you did bsn/msn did you have to do a practicum for the msn? I want to be 100% online. Can you explain how that worked? Does anyone else know if you have a practicum If you do the bsn msn route rather than just rn to msn route? Thank you!
Yes, I had a practicum. I could have done it 100% online due to covid but I did some in person as well. I believe rn-msn is the same as far as practicum. One would do the practicum once they get to the capstone.

@@bet88p Hey! Practicum can be done in person or Remote or hybrid of in person and remote. They have a webinar that breaks down how the hours can be allocated. Email your enrollment advisor or practicum for more information. No, I have not had any issues transferring my masters to the PMHNP program. Some schools just require a letter grade. So, you would request a translated transcript. Very easy process. :)

The service is still available but not required. I did my Master’s in Nursing Edu with Capella. Starting Post Master’s Cert in PMHNP in the Spring. Congratulations on beginning your FNP journey 🎉🎈🎊. Are you running into any issues with financial aid for your post masters cert? I was under the impression I would have to pursue DNP with new specialty to be eligible for financial aid. I pursued MSN Ed for 2 reasons: 1) I’m passionate about educating and 2) Going through Capella would reduce the cost of pursuing the PMHNP as a post master’s cert. Congratulations!!! From what I recall, you cannot change the first course. Otherwise, you can take courses except the practicum in any order. Unless this has since changed.

Yes I think after you finish a couple sequence classes then it allows multiple…I honestly don’t remember which ones you have to do in order

What is the length of a lot of the assignments for the MSN program? Also with regards to the preceptor for clinical hours what type of work did you do for that?

Hi Jessica! It all depends on what your goals are. If you have no intentions of ever pursuing an MSN (assuming your in the nursing program) then basic will get you through. You do need a 3.0 in most schools to continue on to an MSN. So, my advice would be to keep that in mind. Wishing all the best on your Capella journey.

Are we allowed to submit assessments while the assessment before it (from the same class) are still being graded? I know you had said you were finishing several in a weekend, but do you have to wait to submit it?
It depends on the class and your instructor. Some assignments have to be submitted in order. Some assignments feed off each other. So, it’s best to reach out to your instructor and ask first. Wishing you all the best!

Can u talk about MSN education practicum. Is it necessary that your preceptor must be a nurse educator? Or a person with a MSN or DNP is good enough to precept you.?

Thank you for the tips! I get stuck on the research and taking myself down the rabbit hole with all of the resources available online. How did you stay focused?
Hi MaryGrace, thanks for watching! It can definitely become overwhelming with all of the resources available. In order to stay focused, I used the requirements from the scoring tool to create an outline. Then I looked for resources and saved them to my desktop for easy access. Another thing that I did was take pieces from articles that were relevant to the topic and copy them into the outline along with the source. Then I would go back and begin the paper usually the next day. This allowed the information to marinate in my head. I hoped I didn’t confuse you. Lol. Let me know if you have any other questions. Since you did bsn/msn did you have to do a practicum for the msn? I want to be 100% online. Can you explain how that worked? Does anyone else know if you have a practicum If you do the bsn msn route rather than just rn to msn route? Thank you!
Yes, I had a practicum. I could have done it 100% online due to covid but I did some in person as well. I believe rn-msn is the same as far as practicum. One would do the practicum once they get to the capstone.

@@bet88p Hey! Practicum can be done in person or Remote or hybrid of in person and remote. They have a webinar that breaks down how the hours can be allocated. Email your enrollment advisor or practicum for more information. No, I have not had any issues transferring my masters to the PMHNP program. Some schools just require a letter grade. So, you would request a translated transcript. Very easy process. :)

Thanks for this video! I am considering Capella's MS in Child & Adolescent Development. It has 10 courses plus the masters final project (so i guess 11 total). Hey Cristina! Thanks for watching. I cannot speak to the MS in Child & Adolescent Development program as I didn’t complete that program in particular. However, as long as you plan ahead and map out what needs to be done in order to complete the program in 3 months, I believe it can be done if you stick to you plan. You’ve got this!

Hey Angela! Thanks for watching. Yes, ePortfolio was required the Capstone when I was in the BSN program. But, that’s is you started the BSN prior to Oct 1 2020. The service is still available but not required.

I pursued MSN Ed for 2 reasons: 1) I’m passionate about educating and 2) Going through Capella would reduce the cost of pursuing the PMHNP as a post master’s cert. Also, I am paying out of pocket so I cannot speak to the financial aid aspect. I have make a decision between Wilkes & Maryville. Congratulations!!! From what I recall, you cannot change the first course. Otherwise, you can take courses except the practicum in any order. Unless this has since changed.

I don’t recall exactly how many 8-10. Also, no, the 1st course is registered for you. Afterwards, you can register 2 courses at a time.
