We looked for land in East Tennessee!!!! Great State, and great area!! (Mrs. Bloke!)
I hope you subscribed! If Budo and Tracy recommend then you know this is gonna be a great channel!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I too have bought a farm, no running water (need to tap a seep), no electricity, no buildings,..... the property got transferred to me a week ago.... now starts the big job. I'm somewhat overwhelmed .... your videos give me much inspiration. Thank you so much for allowing us into your journey. Keep the faith. "Every day might not be good, but there is something good in every day..." (not sure who the original author was.....)
A lot of positive vibes can be picked up from your show. About peace and friendship and hard times. From - of all people - a bunch of US immigrants. Amazing.
Oh JOY the fence is finished and what a lovely job you made 😊 I felt bad for you dealing with the wet horrible weather and trying to keep your spirits up, but the next day thankfully it was lovely again. I’m sure there will be lots more days you will feel like that, but hang in there and spring will be here again before you know it. Glad you have Budo and Tracy as neighbours. I’m sure they will be a good support when you need it.
What a beautiful door.❤
Fence is looking fine and dandy! Tall fences make good neighbours. Good to have someone to bounce ideas off of for sure. Another enjoyable watch :). Have a great week
Thank you so much 👍🍻
Hi Dave& Lynn again was wondering what time and day you uploaded the latest video, I take its every other day hoping am right as am really love watching what you are both up to.
Thank you so much.....We upload once a week on Sunday between 3-6pm European time. Thanks for watching. Now Budo and Tracy upload Monday/Wed/Fri we think? Not sure 100%
If you subscribe, which costs you nothing but greatly helps the Blokes, and click on the bell you will get notifications whenever they post a video!
The fence looks great !
Haha! yes Whiskey would keep you warm at least on the inside. Love that door. You’ve had some rain over in France no wonder the fields and paddocks are so lush. Beautiful fence and privacy. Tracy and Budo are wonderfully skilled DIYers too.
We're so happy to have met them❤️
Great job with the fence, it looks fantastic.👍
Thank you❤️
Great job on the fence, another great video. Can't wait seeing deal with the building.
I say you on Farmhouse diaries maybe we will you meet in December
Thanks for sharing your progress, great fencing project finished perfectly, looking forward to the farmhouse renovations, good luck!
Thanks 👍
Fun to see Tracy and Budo at your place. It would be great to get advice from them to see what works and what might be a waste of time. maybe they will gift you some lavender to plant later.
Coming along. Fab job and you’re such kind neighbors.
Thank you👍
Hello from PEI Canada. We moved from Toronto a fast pace life to a dead stop life here. Businesses close so early, and people go home for their lunch. At Halloween stores close early to allow the families to go out trick and treat. Boxing day there is nothing open. I do miss quality, quantity and choice of foods in Toronto. We must drive 3 hours and go off island to go to Costco. There is no pollution here, except a manure odour. Ha ha ha
Great video. You have a marvelous view if you could do something with the trees along the bike path. Relocate a few trees then plant a hedge for privacy?
I love that, it brought a tear to my eye.❤ We are at the start of our journey to France, our house in England goes on the market boxing day X sending you love. Love how you both are getting stuck in to the hard work.
Please don't leave that door on site , it needs to be kept somewhere with a stable temperature before final installation , otherwise it will tend to warp !!!
Would it not have been easier building a small gate to let the neighbours in to their water point ?
Great idea to put place in fence whee the Neibours can get at their water supply. 😊
The gentle, slow pace of your posts on TH-cam Tube is very impressive and very inspiring. I still don’t quite get it: is there no stone quarry anywhere near enough to simply have several yards of stone tailgated into your access so as to make everything easier for everyone? That would typically be the start of any renovation.
❤️ Our budget is very small. We use what we have when we can.
Hi Dave & Lynn watched the episode once again can’t believe how much it brings back, keep your heads up. As I became disabled while the renovations was in full swing but because like you two worked hard as a team and wow looking at the place now it was all worth it and with want I see it will come to you both ❤❤❤.
Thanks Dave and Lynn Much appreciated❤️❤️❤️
Phew well done! So nice to tick off a project. Looking forward to the house renos. Cheers from southern Tasmania 🍎
Thanks 👍
Did you say why there is a hole or gap in the fence it doesn’t look humansized hope you keep in touch with Budo and Tracy both of them have such a lot of knowledge keep up the good work both of you
Great to see you at Budho and Tracys, have you considered puttin in French Drain?
We have and we will- eventually!!! They were/are awesome to meet!!!
Hi Mr & Mrs Bloke. I was thinking, Budo and Tracy had been using a trailer to live in but Ithink they are now living in the house! Maybe you could borrow it for the winter?
How to go -Well done! Great progress this week! Looking like home already :))
Thanks so much! 😊
Cold and rainy weather added with short days (pour autant qu'on puisse appeler "jour" cette grisaille) are hard to stand, especially without a cozy fireplace to sit by. Definitely not the most comfortable season to undertake renovation work, you're nonetheless moving forward an amazing way 💪
Belle palissade 👍 Looking forward to see how you will manage to assort the house with it 😉
Great Vlog. Thanks for sharing. Nice job on the fence. A nice coat of preservative and it will last many years. Its good to have visitors that are going through or have been through the same process. It gives you another perspective on the way things need to go. ATB regards from the UK
Brilliant 👍👍👍
I do wonder if you may regret the L shaped end of the fencing being so near that huge tree, as the tree will always keep growing and may put pressure on your fence in the future. Still, that would be some years away. Glad you are getting nicer looking weather to be able to keep going. Continual bad weather can be a downer that's for sure. You are getting things accomplished, take heart. Best wishes.
The plan is to cut some of that Sweet Chestnut and make it a much smaller tree/coppiced hedge.❤️
Good morning from a chilly Colorado!
It's a beautiful property! Of course, sunshine helps! Lol
Is it economically feasible to get a large load of gravel delivered? It would certainly make the mud easier to deal with. Just a thought. Joyeaux Noel!
I lived in Colorado for years!!! I loved it so much!!! I miss the full moon in the mountains and the peace of hiking alone in the snow….❤ (Mrs. Bloke)
Just started watching you. I’ve been hearing about you and your project for months from your present hosts. So impressed with your determination. But what’s the little thing with the corrugated iron roof?
The neighbours water access :).......Thanks for watching
What will you use the land for ?
Permaculture/food/chickens.......Horses in a few years
Was there a reason to stagger the boards all faving the neighbour instead of half on your side??
We prefer the look of this side of the fence. More character!
Someone else asked this question. Why have you built this high fence? This is so odd in the countryside!!!??? The husband is an Englishman he ought to know.
Check out Episode 2 -it will answer all. Didn't want to build a fence.... (Mrs. Bloke)
@mrbloke Saw it . The neighbours took advantage. You are in France, not the US . They probably thought that they could put one over on a foreigner. I think trying to get to know them and explaining what you want to do with the property would have been better than a wall of wood, in my opinion. Walls make enemies.
That's one way to look at it, the other is "Good fences make good neighbours" - different strokes, different folks :) The neighbours also very much wanted the fence and they paid for half. They are lovely people. :)
@mrbloke Good to know this. Thank you ! Had this been made known, there would be no question. I'll mind my own business. To each his own.
Sorry if I missed it but what is the little cut out box in the fence for?
The neighbours water access :)
👌👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹🇪🇦🇮🇨
What is the little tin covered cut out for?
the neighbours water access :)
I am curious where is your living area - not in this house I guess 😮
We are in a rental cottage....We are moving into the workshop/glamping space this week though!
As former Americans you so want u’r Privacy. How many privacy fences so do see in France ?
I don't understand the fence.
Check out Episode 2 - it explains why the fence
WOH, WOH, PLEASE REWIND AND LOOK HOW YOU USED THAT CHISELL AT 5;46. YOU CANT AFFORD TO MAKE THAT KIND OF ERROR. SORRY FOR MOANING BUT IVE SEEN IT ALL.
