  • We are back in Botswana on another overlanding adventure!
    In this series of Episode, we start our trip off as a large group and head through the Groblersbrug / Martins Drift border crossing into Botswana. The border is a disaster and takes 3 hours on this day!
    We head to Elephant Sands for 2 nights before making our way to Mbudi Camp in Khwai - but, it's not all smooth cruising, as we are met with a very, very wet Khwai - which makes for fun driving and another epic adventure.
    Travelled in April 2022 - the wet roads limit the game drives and make the game quite scarce, but it was very cool to see so much water around and how the area changes through the seasons.

    You know, if our tourism custodian, Botswana Tourism Org knew what they were doing they'd find a way to connect with all you guys to promote travel in the country, especially for young adults. You, Ed, 4x4ventures, Overland Africa, 5410 and the rest are really doing an amazing job showcasing my country. Before I watched you guys I had zero interest in exploring BW the way you guys do. My wife and I's perfect vacation has been going to JHB or Cape Town, never thought about Botswana and doing city life things that we do in Gaborone anyway. Now we are in the process of selling one of our small cars so we can buy a bakkie and start overlanding😂all thanks to you guys. The tips, the info, the cinematography. Magnificent.
    Thank you for helping a young Motswana like myself to get on a journey to fall in love with my country.

      Thank you so much for the great comment! We love your country and just by your response alone makes these videos worth it. You 100% right Botswana Tourism should be looking at ways to promote the country's tourism industry with the great channels that already have a following on TH-cam. The best part for them is it wouldn't cost anything in cash and the videos on here are here pretty much for ever.
      Thanks again for the support! Hope you get that bakkie soon!

    I hadn't realised that you guys are Durban based... I am also a Durbanite although lived in UK for 30 years - home is where the heart is! :-)

    Really great series and it's so nice to see young families out camping and enjoying nature. We are also Durban based and wanted to ask if on deciding to purchase the Bush lapa you managed to find one to rent in Durban first. We are also looking at getting a van but want to try before we buy. Cheers and keep up the great content

      Hey! Thanks so much! We did not rent one first, we had mates with a bushlapa so we were able to see it up close. I would recommend maybe visiting a show where one is available to check out. But you won't go wrong with a lapa!

      @@EpicAfrica thanks for the reply, did you consider second hand or was the new layout of the newer model not having to duck so much to get in the front bed a deciding factor and the reason you went new?

    I really enjoy the experiences you guys share and super quality videos... but(there is alway a but)...I won't appreciate the music if I was camping next to you... I'm a bit longer in the tooth but I've always kept my sons busy with things in nature on such trips...

      Thank you very much for the comment and as for the but… 100% right but that isn’t normal for us and we certainly wouldn’t have let it go on if other camper’s were around us. First time travelling with so many people and a total of 11 kids so was hard to keep them calm all of the time.

    Please can you link your wife’s chicken pot recipe? Can’t seem to find it. Thank you!

    • @EpicAfrica
      @EpicAfrica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hello, there is no link unfortunately! We used a foil tray, cut chicken breast or boneless thigh, and add to the tray with some olive oil. add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, and a splash of water plus chilli flakes and coat the chicken - there should be a little bit of liquid in the tray but not drowning in it. . Add veggies - we use baby marrows and carrots. Wrap in foild and just cook on the braai grid! Serve with rice cooked in coconut milk. No quantities, we just eyeball it based on number of people.
