Having a good tune on the Subaru really helps. Ever since I did that, its been a dream to drive and I've consistently been one of the fastest if not THE fastest car in lobbies
Its not a factor as much in TCR or slower cars but, try to slow down your initial 5-7% travel on the throttle. Its a similar action to optimal braking. The weight transfer is what makes the car behave or crash. The more power and less downforce the car has, the slower you need to be on initial throttle application. Once it starts to hook and settle, then you can send it and start to feel out the car's on-throttle understeer.
Yeah that’s a fair point bud. Still pushing it like it’s a fwd and I can just understeer my way out lmfao. I think I am getting used it now and being a little more gentle on the old power smash pedal lol
The best drivers can tolerate understeer, but they go fast with oversteer. You need to have just enough. Some cars are more of a ragged edge than others, like the gt3 cars.
@@Flashms I played GT Sport from day 1 until GT7 came out. They first tacked on time but saw players were able to get away far enough where the penalty didn't hurt them. They changed to the slowdown, and it cleaned up a lot of the racing. You slow for 2 seconds, it could cost you a lot of track position. I wouldn't mind it being served in the pits either.
@reverendbogey yeah that’s a fair point. It’s not just 2 seconds lost but far far more, having to pick back up pace etc. so your slow down of 2 seconds could cost upwards of 5 easily. Yeah that’s pretty brutal lol
@AndoStyle ah ok I understand. I usually call it out more. I have many many other videos showing speed and position on pretty much all of the cars and tracks in the touring series So if there is a specific car that you are driving I can give you the link if that helps. Let me know ;). I have all the tc series in this playlist th-cam.com/play/PLaBkzCUqCFietW-nEQx-bjCe9VA-0tKKI.html&si=bqprs_Wl3tZVmO8c 9/10 in order of car lmfao.
@@Flashms I’m on a wheel. It’s a very different car on a wheel than a controller. You have to tune it heavily just to keep the rear end behind you, and it ends up not being very competitive.
@BenFilley yeah no kidding man. I mean it is an absolute handful. It’s much better at higher speeds. Slow corners where you want it to behave it just sticks it backend out and says deal with it lol
@@Flashms agreed. To keep it close on the straights the downforce has to be too low to be competitive in the corners. Make it good in the corners and a 1956 Volkswagen Beetle will walk it on the straights. It’s too much of a sacrifice one way or the other to really be “good” unfortunately. My opinion, it’s the lack of grunt on the lower end. You have to rev the snot out of it to get that 20hp “advantage” it has over other cars. Some of that can be mitigated via track specific gearing, but it’s still gutless below 6k. Telemetry tells the best story. The power below 6k is trash compared to everything else. Everything else is at peak power at 6k, or very close to it.
@@BenFilley yeah that’s fair bud. I do struggle to hear when I’m hitting the limiter lol. Gearbox is so loud. You are right you have to rag the life out of it. It does hold its own on a run though. It has a good top speed. Friend of mine did an insane lap time of 7.06 at the ring in the vorg but the way he handles that car is like an alien lol.

Oooo totally agree bud. It’s a great car. Quite playful little creature when it wants to be lmfao.
@@Flashms Yeah sometimes it'll slide through corners randomly and lose grip, but if you're ok with oversteer like I am, then it's not that bad
Nothing like a playful moment lol

@@afrojo49 yeah pretty much bud. You seen what I am like in the Astra lol. GT cars I am slowly improving on in this game lmfao.
I prefer the slowdown that is used in GT7/GT Sport. I thought it was more fair than just tacking on time.
Yeah I kinda like the idea. Although I have not had the luxury of trying it yet

Touring car kiss, well they do say rubbing is racing
Lmfao. It was a soft kiss to lol
Would be good to see the speed and track.
Do you mean when I am playing the replay footage ???
@@Flashms Saw you had it on sometimes when I continued to watch. I'm just a newbie and interested in your speed/gear/position.

@@Flashms Awesome! Thank you so much!
Anytime :)
All hail the mighty levorg, lime rock not the best but great fun at watkins
Yeah like rock is not a great example but it did very well there :). Watkins at the bus stop. Wish I had the replay. That would have looked awesome
It’s the only TCR I drive, but it sucks compared to everything else
It’s defo a handful but it is nice to drive. Only thing is in my view is. It’s hard to hear the engine so I do forget to shift on occasions
