This blogpost is a huge W for Turn10, and the transparency is really nice from them. I've been really happy with the new updates, but I always thought they could do more, like providing a roadmap of what they are working on. I'm really happy about Bathurst, spectator mode (great for league racing), the new challenge Hub (I always wanted the FM7 forzathon to come back, and this seems similar), the ghosting in multiplayer and the addition of sharecodes for liveries and tuning. The only thing that I think they should improve now is the number of cars, we are getting really few cars since the car pass ended (like 2 or 3 per update and some not even new, a lot of recycled cars from older Forzas). Even some new racecars from Horizon 5 are still not appearing in Motorsport like the Elantra TCR or the Mustang Dark Horse. Would love the new GT3s like the Mustang, Ferrari 296, BMW M4 or Porsche 992.
Whole heartedly agree! need more touring cars ASAP been over half a year since the last one and when they are like mostly complete in Horizon it makes it very annoying they have not moved them into Motorsport yet!
I can't wait for them to add more features into the game. The anticipation of trying new content on such an unstable foundation sounds amazing. But yes, Fujimi Kaido with the drifting update would be the best move T10 has made since the game launched.
I wish this game added new cars as often as Horizon 5 does. 2 new cars a month on an already stale game isn't enough. Where is the S650 Mustang? Horizon 5 three versions of the S650, Motorsport has 0. I really want to like this game, but it just feels so boring and empty compared to other racers. Im glad that new tracks are coming, but every track we've gotten in year one should have been available on day one. As a diehard Motorsport fan. Who's played since the OG Motorsport in 2005, this game feels so low effort, it feels like they are doing the bare minimum. All my friends who I've played Motorsport with since FM4 stopped playing because of this game, and it's depressing. I desperately want this game to make a comeback, I still unlock the monthly cars in hopes my old FM4 club buddies are won back over by Turn 10.
Yeah man I feel you! Like you I have been in since the OG on the first Xbox (still have every copy stored away somewhere!) and it does feel a little drip fed right now. FM for this year has basically been "Early Access" in my opinion, and can only hope the cars will grow when they can spend more resources on that and less on features and tracks still missing from what should have been the core game!
Drip feed indeed! This is my main concern. I need some serious car packs. I need some fun and different car packs. I need some horizon vibes in a Motorsport game.
This is all great but what people seem to be forgetting is that most of the stuff they're adding back in was already in previous motorsport games, We need to start seeing actual new content badly imo. Also the token system with the challenge hub is new but tokens aren't, the challenge hub yes but that's the only new thing really.
That was what I meant with complete, getting into the shape the game should have been a year ago at launch. Turn 10 are running out of time but I think this at least shows they have a long term plan to fix and improve!
unfortunately i dont think you will ever get that.. the prime difference between simcade and sim is that simcade really is built for controller first and wheel second while sims its the other way round.. its what puts me off bothering with forza as a relaxing alternative to ranked sim racing.. that and it looks like headache to set up if you have different brand pedals, wheel base etc
Really was hoping for the Lotus or Renault F1 car coming back. This is probably the most under rated LOSS that FM had. It was so fun taking the F1 car out and destroying other car times. But the fact that it is the pinnacle of racing and is absent is a downer. Where is the backlash? Well there should be but Drifting and complaining of PC optimization and penalty systems that plaque every game are obsessively filling the forums.
Fujimi Kaido is coming (eventually) as an extension of Hakone. Nothing confirmed other than Hakone is near Mt Fuji, Fujimi Kaido is set near Mt Fuji and the 2 roads (one at end of main straight and 2nd after hotel on left on back straight) that shouldn't be as detailed as they are with kerbs unless there were plans to use it. There's a video that goes into it in more detail.
Yeah I had a sneaky feeling that would have been the plan, I did notice the slip road going off to nowhere on the outside of turn 1 and also one joining the track as you come out the double right hander on the long track... always had a sneaky suspicion there would be a "fujimi inspired" verson released at some point, interesting if it is actually Fujimi, ill take an "inspired by" version at the very least!
I am so incredibly excited for bathurst, and a spectator mode. The amount of shenanigans and stupid stuff happening on bathurst in gt3 or gt2 multiplayer is gonna be fantastic lol. And the spectator mode means we can finally see streams where its like actual commentary. sounds kinda dumb but I've always wanted that. As well as just people being able to watch a race from a "Irl race camera/broadcast" perspective. Ive had this idea with a friend where we do a forza 24 hour endurance race (the idea was with AI at that point) and like stream it or something with that type of view. But it isnt possible, and would be painful, and max AI gets really boring after a while. Would still love to do it, would still be a nightmare but fun lol. I just hope we get more cars and tracks throughout the future after all of this. The game needs it
Yeah both Bathurst and spectator mode are massive W's and I am excited about the possibility of live broadcasting for race series and it would be very interesting if I ever get into a race series and it is like a televised race with live commentators that would be super cool!
More tracks, more cars so many new models of cars Touring and Sports cars etc that should be in there, but it has gotten better but should of launched this way at minimum. Still a great game i hope they keep adding cars and tracks but frequently. Its been out about a year more or less already.
Yeah man how it will be after these bits have been ticked off is basically how it should have launched, its a month out from being a year old and still a lot of core features missing, and modern race cars!
I prefer Sunset Peninsula over most of the ovals they had in FM7, good to see that return. I'm currently looking into whether this game is worth buying on PC now and getting some of the classics back is definitely a plus.
Yeah when I reminded myself of the track I was happy with it, the infield version is pretty fun! As for buying it, I would say its a solid Gamepass game right now, not worth an actual purchase yet though
@@Blownpistonmotorsport Yeah, that's also where I land from what I'm seeing. I'm not into gamepass (or third party key sellers for that matter) since I'm more about playing a few games for a long time. Also knowing the final state of FM7 I don't expect 8 to ever get all the major issues fixed, but I'd be happy to be wrong there.
recently got this game, when it first came out got so many bad reviews because of the bugs, grind for car points, etc. but now that ive gotten it i love it, the physics is game changing. and when they finally add drifting i will put way more hours into it. i think this games critique was justified but its now changed.
It is definitely in a far better place than it was at launch, but it is still not quite where I think it should have been when first released, there are a lot of things missing from this game that was in previous games. Planning a doing a "year in review" on FM to recap what has been address because I think people could do with seeing how much work they have done (admittedly work they shouldn't have had to do) and think it could be interesting!

If by complete you mean at least close to having all the features prior iterations of Forza Motorsport typically came with as standard then sure. To me? No. It is still lacking things that older FM games had as well as things that no FM has had yet that a "complete" racing game should have.
@@Blownpistonmotorsport That is why I gave my own answer following the acknowledgement of that. In my mind, given the degree that they said they were going, this game should have been more, bigger than any prior Forza Motorsport. Instead it was a shell of prior iterations at launch.
