I’ve watched him when I was a kid and almost all of the TH-camrs I watched at this time in my childhood they all either changed radically or just went off the grid I’m glad he’s still the same
A nice upgrade for Sludge. DNA Design makes really good upgrades for the figures that need it. Thanks to you Emgo from your vids. I got some DNA Design upgrades for some of my figures. Worth it.
Emgo, love the reviews! Great work! I got my DNA Sludge upgrade kit yesterday (purchased it based off this review). I love it! But, my kit came with 6 of those rubber pieces for fixing the ratchet joints. I wondered what the 2 extra were for and then it hit me. They can be used to tighten the ratchets in his shoulders, they use the same ratchet mechanism as in his legs. Might need to do a addendum.
They are the BDT Studio BDT-47 Feet Upgrade Kit for Sludge. They are 3D-printed plastic and feel really light in hand, and at least with the set I got, the connection points on the back of the feet were a bit shallow, so they could pop off easily with a decent amount of handling. YMMV on other copies, though. Really, the best part was the adaptor pieces for the stock feet to turn them into missile pods. I would recommend the Nonnef upgrade kit for new feet, as they feel more solid thanks to the combination of injection-molded plastic and actual hardware (a first for Nonnef), and color-match the gold on Sludge better. Really, the main overlap between the DNA and Nonnef kits is the sword, and Nonnef offers color options (red, or orange/black). Nonnef also has knee joint inserts, but none for the hip joints. Otherwise, they've got neck screwhole fillers, a G1-styled rifle, and a missile tip for the launcher (and the missile tip is itself bloosh-compatible - sort of, as you can put the missile tip on any blast effect part that has a 5mm port, then plug the effect into the launcher to simulate the missile being launched).
@@rainydayman2k hmm, I'll have to look into that. I got nonnef's upgrade kit for Earthrise Optimus and the only thing that didn't really impress me on that was Roller. Everything else was just complete sweet.
Hey emgo, great video looks like you got a good copy because this kit has been getting negative feedback, good to see someone giving some positive feedback on the kit.
Hey man, great video once again. I have the same folding feet set on mine so I'm talky pleased that belly part fits with those feet as i wasn't gonna get this if it didn't. The extra fx parts are lovely and im having this.
Another nice review, EmGo, but... I'm not quite sold on this particular set. The blooshes look great, but I almost never use the blast effects, so while it may be a nice thing to have, it's not a big priority. The sword looks fine, the joint filler bits are useful, but I'm not keen on the shield/filler piece, and while an amusing thing to have, I personally don't need the goofy eyes. I'd love to see you give the Nonnef set a whirl - as I noted in my response to Asher Tye, aside from the sword (and partially the leg joint filler), the Nonnef and DNA kits are largely doing different things.
if you remember back then when you reviewed Kamen Rider Gaim the Watermelon mech I recently took a screenshot you wanted that time ago hope you like it although it may not be related to this but just felt like you should know Merry Christmas
i'll be honest if i made a upgrade kit i would make those "wings" being able to be turned around and close around the dino head instead just sit there behind the arms, but then again that's how the g1 was designed so
Will you be reviewing Hasbro's Christmas Optimus prime by chance? I ask as I usually go to multiple review channels to get multiple opinions but your vids are always last and most important to me. Have a good day and love the vids man!

Hey Emgo, since you reviewed a lot of 3D printed upgrade kits in the past, did you ever run into problems with gold plastic syndrom in those kits, or is that truly a thing of the past now?
Hasbro has to know this company exists along with others. I wonder if hasbro purposely cuts corners cause they know there is someone to fix there problems.
It's so nice that DNA designs are here to fix Hasbro's problems but it shouldn't have to be that way! If you spend 50 bucks on a brand new figure it should be good to go! Amiright?!?! Unless Hasbro secretly owns DNA designs and they screw up their figures on purpose so you have to spend the extra money on the DNA upgrade kits 🤔🤔🤣
Honestly, I don't understand these upgrade kits? Like, you make us pay full price for a slightly flawed figure, then make us pay extra money for an upgrade kit? Why not give us a good quality product to begin with?
@@emgo316 I see. I've seen some of your other upgrade kit reviews, like the one for POTP Volcanicus, which looks great BTW. I just don't like how you can't remove it once added. It's part of the reason I tend to like a lot of the 3rd party Transformers figures over Hasbro's. Some of my favorites include: Navel Commander(aka: Armada Optimus Prime) and Perfect Effects Beast Gorira(aka: Optimal Optimus) POTP Optimal Optimus looks terrible.
It being DNA, I am really disappointed they didn't do their own feet mods.
Boom goes the Dinobot is the best phrase I’ve heard all autumn
I feel like DNA took the wrong approach here by giving him a belly shield instead of foldable toes. It’s way too small for him anyway
Nonnef did the better approach
I have both kits on mine.
@lt.creggar5903 having to have both kids more than doubles his cost, though
I’ve watched him when I was a kid and almost all of the TH-camrs I watched at this time in my childhood they all either changed radically or just went off the grid I’m glad he’s still the same
The Three Dinobots now had upgrade kits!
I honestly can't wait for Snarl and Swoop I love all my 86 Dinobot upgrades! Just wish they made a Deluxe PotP Slash to match her "bigger" brothers.
OMG, the eyes. It's the only item to get in the package ha ha.

Sludge is never gonna live those googly eyes down, is he?
Where did you get the new feet again?

Well I just got this kit because I have the same feet upgrade thanks to Emgo. Definitely going to be happy with the results
Hi emgo glad to see your still posting hope you keep going

I don’t usually care for effect pieces but damn those looked good especially sludges effect piece.
Great review! God bless you and yours! Praying for you!
An upgrade kit that actually does what it’s supposed to and looks great? 😮 🤯
I got MP-08 Grimmy and this Sludge with Slug on the way. Just need Snarl and Swoop to release.

Will you be reviewing the go better studio and noneff productions kit for this guy because they’re pretty good.

Great video

I think 3D printed parts are made of a different material composition to GPS plastics but I may be wrong
Slag has bigger fire than grimmlock
Genial gracias emgo316
You kill me every time with that and im 40.

Dna designs just arent what they were starting out, 3d printed add ons can challenge anything you can buy officially anymore.
this is cool and all but not $25 cool

Even when there were “good” quality figures, there were upgrade kits on the market for them.
