    I owned an F150 FX4 and absolutely loved it. I decided i wanted to do something different so i looked around. I really liked the Trail Boss and test drove one. I was in contact with a salesman and was ready to buy. But then just to make sure i explored all avenues, i went and looked at Ram. I test drove a Ram Rebel and was sold!!! I ended up buying a 2020 Rebel and love it. My buddy bought a Trail Boss and even after a side by side comparison I am still confident I made the right choice. Ive heard good and bad about the Ram, but I also heard the same about my F150. Only time will tell if its as good as my Ford. But I will say this, if it does as good as my F150 I will get another one. It looks awesome, the interior is way above everything else and it runs great. We have a mix of trucks at work, but just today one of the guys said he liked mine so much that he thought he would go test drive one. • @Corbrwl
      @Corbrwl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ditto that! Options I got that I wanted: Rebel 12 group, Hemi eTorque (was surprised how most Hemi's available didn't have the eTorque including the one in this review), Sunroof, Rambox, multi-function tailgate. What I didn't get that I wanted (couldn't find one that had everything in the two-tone red color): safety and convenience group (wanted active cruise control) and air suspension 4-corner. One other thing, one of the dealer selling points on Rambox is they are $1K instead of $1.5K that they used to be, but what they don't mention is that the price is lower because it doesn't include the bed divider.

    • @gjpressley
      @gjpressley 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Shadows1632 The Rambox is definitely a personal choice but I do find them useful for securable storage. I use them for groceries, small luggage, fishing gear and even rifles. Putting stuff in the back seat only invites someone to do a smash and grab which is hard lesson I learned with my last Ram. Bed width is not issue for me because I can still get must ATV's inside. The biggest hassle is the limited availability of good tonneau covers if you want one.

    • @Corbrwl
      @Corbrwl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gjpressley On the tonneau cover, I went with the Bakflip MX4. The way they designed it was pretty impressive, their cover rails slide right on the bed rails top track (tight fit, requires some effort to get them on), and as a result the rambox lids open with no contact to the cover (the older versions of the bakflip had a rubber lip up against the rambox). Overall fit is perfect.

    Definitely gonna roll with the Chevy and the 6.2, I’m just not a fan of how the ram’s exterior looks 🤷🏻‍♂️ but that’s just me. You are right tho, the inside of the rams interior does poop all over the Chevy tho lol. Way more plush 👌🏼BUT! with that being said, the big ol 12’ screen for the infotainment center I feel like is a little too much, like it could and will just be a distraction. I like simplicity, a good ol old fashion knob dial will be sufficient enough for me 👍🏼 great review BTW!

    I have absolutely ZERO brand loyalty, so my comments are coming from a neutral place. I cross shopped these trucks along with the Raptor, Tundra TRD and the Nissan Titan Pro4X. The Raptor is a great truck, but couldn't justify the price when I really won't come close to using it for it's true potential (desert running). Titan probably ranked the lowest on my list; capable truck, but hated the transmission, it felt like it didn't know what gear it wanted to be in (also hated the dash column shifter and radio antenna...very outdated); the Tundra TRD is a highly capable truck, but that interior is straight out of 2000. I don't like the looks of the Chevy, and the interior materials didn't justify the price. You spend most of your time in the interior driving the truck, and I want to enjoy my space and feel good about it. I came away so incredibly impressed by the Rebel as the full package for me (all that stuff I mentioned are subjective), so I bought it. I see comments about the dial shifter on the Ram, but I love it! I absolutely HATE the dash column shifter, and I also hate how the Raptor/Nissan still have that stupid radio antenna popping out from the front quarter panel area when everyone has the shark fin...both those things are outdated as hell in my opinion. I like technology and progress, and the Rebel did just that. All that said, everything I mentioned above are all subjective to how the buyer sees it, but if the quality of materials and looks don't matter to you, you can't go wrong buying any of those trucks because the capabilities of all those trucks are great!

    Put 45000 miles on my Raptor in almost two years. Most of it street, but roughed it through Padre Island for surf fishing and excitement at least 5 times a year. At least 40 miles on rough beach terrain every time. Truck is a beast but did not want to deal with any issues and the warranty was done. Traded it in for the Ram Rebel with all the upgrades and I am very happy with it. Only had it for two months and have already taken it to the surf twice. No complaints yet. Interior is amazing. As a person who bought a 2020 Ram 1500. I have to say. Get the Trail Boss if you want to off-road. There is a major issue with the Ram. It's so pretty you don't want to damage it. But one look at the Trail Boss and you have no worries about damaging it.

      The TrailBoss is slightly better off road. The 5.3 and 5.7 are nearly identical performance wise with similar axel gears. The TrailBoss has better fuel economy with 87 octane vs 89 with the Rebel. But the Rebel has the better interior.
      In all fairness both trucks are excellent it comes down to personal preference.

But the factory does have leeway to cancel the franchise agreement with dealerships if the dealership is engaging in fraudulent practices. In short if you have evidence to support this accusation forward it to the FCA regional manager and the Dallas local media.

    The Ram does have a 1 inch factory lift. You noted that the Chevy amd Ram had similar information on the center of the dash. The Ram dash is extremely customizable. It has 7 locations that you can pick what information you want displayed. The center of the dash is not even close in terms of information. Not only does the Ram show more it lets you pick what information you want there.

    Rebel wins overall for me. The Trail Boss has a better looking front end and the 2" lift is nice vs the Rebel's 1" lift. But when you get to the interior the Ram just blows it out of the water. WAY higher quality, better tech, panoramic sunroof, just looks nicer in general. Whereas the Chevy interior looks like its 5 years outdated and just boring overall. For a $50-60k truck I expect luxury inside, even in an offroad trim. I'll sacrifice 1" of lift for everything else the Rebel offers. Just throw on a leveling kit for a few hundred bucks and you're set.

      Yes, the Ram has a bigger engine unless the Trail Boss has the 6.2L, then it will leave that Fiat in the dust.
      They probably have similar suspensions, except the TB has a 2" lift.
      The TB also has skid plates. One under the motor, one under the transfer case.
      The both have locking differentials. The Ram is electronic, the TB is mechanical.
