I lived in Vancouver for 6 years, now I'm back home at Mexico, and this video make me so nostalgic, sad and happy at the same time. THANK YOU!! Vancouver have a piece of my heart.
I am from Ghana, and Canada has always been my dreamland since I was 6. And now I am 24, I always live my life thinking of one day moving to Canada. I can't wait to be here one day 🇨🇦🇨🇦 God Bless Canada.... Long live Vancouver 🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️
This city looks drop-dead gorgeous. Makes me wanna move their permanently. This part of city is like a movie set, beauty and dramatic lighting everywhere. Amazing. In the city I live is completely filthy.
It's one of the most expensive cities in North America. Unless you have a great paying job, you will probably never be able to live there. Most people you see there live outside Vancouver CBD and just travel there for work. And many of these very streets have loads of drug users and homeless people hanging around that you do not see in this video. I know because I have spent so much time walking around these exact streets. I used to live in New Westminster.
I live in Coal Harbour, and this is a 10min walk, if that from my front door. There are NO condos in my building for sale under a million dollars Canadian, sure it looks great, but unless you move here with more than a million Canadian, or are illegally here to launder money like so many were already, good luck. You will likely end up in the Fraser Valley somewhere, or Surrey. Which has also become expensive for what you get. Sadly foreign buyers who came here, laundering money, raised the property values so high most Canadians can't afford to live in their own country. I wish you the best with the dream of moving here, but for most people, even in our own country it is just that, a dream. Most of us that live here work so much we don't even get the chance to enjoy the city lol.
Hey if you dont mind living not right in the centre of downtown, but want to be in downtown, there are many affordable places you can rent. Coal harbour is like right in front of the water so it’s THE most expensive area but if you go further down, there are actually many older buildings and rent is affordable like around $1600- 1800 / one bedroom. My friends pay that much and I used to pay around 1,650CAD. You can easily find the roommates. You can also easily afford that rent if you have a full time job in a company. If you are working in a fast food restaurant and want to live in downtown then it’s a bit tight without room mates. There are lots of new condos being built these days and buying a house is VERY expensive anywhere in greater Vancouver, but buying a condo is totally doable with the steady job and income. Hope you get to live in this beautiful city someday 👍🏻
This video came to me last year as a TH-cam suggestion on December 13th. That date is approaching and I went back to look at it again. Someone I loved very much and who passed away 3 months earlier lived in Vancouver and adored that city, often sent me videos, pictures of buildings, streets, sky ... Last birthday I was very sad, my first birthday without his message at midnight- and then this video appears as some sign that he is still with me and sending me a birthday present. I miss him, his smile, the conversations we had, hugs ... I live in Europe, I doubt I will ever walk around Vancouver but part of my heart is always there - because of one special person with whom I also fell in love with this beautiful city ❤️
i just want to say the AIR in vancouver is so crisp and fresh. I cant explain it but it smells like if u were in the south of france near the body of water (i lived in montpellier for a decade).
