So for the people unaware on 2001 Daytona crash with Tony. I can’t put into words how close Tony came to dying. TONY WAS STRUCK IN THE HEAD BY THE ROLL BAR THAT NEARLY FAILED COMPLETELY. Had he took one more hit to that roll bar Above-Left of his seat. Or had that roll bar bent another 1/2” it probably would’ve caused a fatal blow to the head or a fatal Cspine fracture. I say this because Tony was knocked unconscious by the roof bars striking him in the head. So it was already enough to knock him out. It would’ve took a tiny bit more to kill or paralyze him. Those blows to the top Of the head are extremely unforgiving.
@@dennisbowen452 1. Let it go. 2. How could Tony have known where KWJ was when the guy was wearing a dark race suit and Tony was racing a car with a great big obscure wing on it? 3. Let! It! Go!
I'm sure a few of his crashes involve an airborne car at a plate track; this video already had two of three where Newman's own car is the one going airborne
So most don’t know the inside scoop. But Tony was struck in the head by the roof/bar. The roll bar nearly failed completely. He was knocked unconscious the blow was enough. Had it come in another 1/2” or 3/4” it could’ve been a fatal blow to the skull or a Cspine fracture. Not to mention the blow he took going head on into the wall. Dale lost 35-45mph of velocity in 1-2 milliseconds. Which is not that much. But it was enough to yank his 3lb brain into the base of the skull causing a O-ring fracture. -- the most disappointed I’ve been was nascar was immediately after. They released a BS report saying Dale fractured his skull by striking the back of his head on a seat. Anybody with a tiny bit of knowledge about base of skull fractures know that’s total BS. The skull fracture is cause by the BRAIN & Spinal cord. -- the torso being belted to the car. The torso decels with the car. But the head continues forward at the speed of impact. It will not stop until the spinal cord is at max extension. At that point the brain catches the skull. Which causes that O-ring shaped fracture at the base of the skull.
The worst part about that accident is that it was completely preventable. Dale had expressed concerns about the cars’ lack of adequate safety features to Richard Childress during the red flag of the crash that happened minutes before. He specifically said if nothing is done about it, it’s gonna end up killing somebody
It was funny because they were trying to figure out how to get him out because he is so big. He kept saying just let me get out until they finally did. Was the funniest thing
I still hate how CGR's incompetence made Juan a meme (before y'all say anything dumb) Juan's car had a severe mechanical issue that they couldn't diagnose that finally failed at the exact wrong spot (that combined with the same mechanical failure striking again on the other CGR car driven by McMurray causing the big one)
2021: I was sooo worried for Kyle Busch as a Rowdy fan to see him get hit in the drivers door. I ran to my room and prayed. It was an answered prayer to see him get out of his car without even getting hurt. That hit had to have been painful though.
Dale's crash was very violent but not visually. I mean had you walked up to that car after the wreck you would have thought it was very violent I'm sure.
I stand by Montoya hitting the jet dryer ad being the best/worse in that it was hilarious and unfortunately delayed the race for several hours while they repaired the damage to the racing surface
@@Racing_YT. that is true. My argument for that would be that multiple fans sustained injuries from debris during Austin’s crash. Not to mention the amount of damage cause by that crash to both his car (which I see almost every day at work and is truly remarkable) and the stadium fencing. I’m not saying KB’s was not bad. Head first into the barrier at 100mph is a violent crash, and the video probably doesn’t do it Justice. It is all opinion based though and I don’t want any hard feelings. Just my thoughts.

@@masoneveridge4078 racing should be about the skills of the crew and driver, not being able to survive “the big one” and make it to the end. @@stevenhyde4855 I’m surprised you don’t seem to realize that NASCAR’s done everything to minimize the crews getting seriously injured nearly all of the pit crew injuries in the past 25 years were caused because someone wrecked and their car went into pit lane while being out of control or because of a fuel fire neither of which had to do with racing on pit road and besides they actually have a speed limit to make sure things like that don’t happen also while I agree about the restrictor plate racing ruining the fun I understand why they did that

you should do the worst crash at talladega from 2000-2023, would be a nice video.
potentially, may do another open wheel one
Ever thought of doing a Ryan Newman crash compilation? He's had some of the worst wrecks in modern NASCAR history
I'm sure a few of his crashes involve an airborne car at a plate track; this video already had two of three where Newman's own car is the one going airborne
He probably is up there in the list of drivers with most amount of flips
I think the big one in trucks in 2008 was the worst crash of the speedweeks that year.
oh, i didn’t even think about that
I still get chills watching Newman's 2020 crash to this day.
Still seeing that crash Ryan had in 2020 still makes flinch. How close we were to losing him that day.
It's just crazy how many violent wrecks that Ryan Newman has had at plate tracks over his career.
Well the "worst" in terms of consequence would be Earnhardt's accident... But yeah, had that not happen, the Big one was pretty big.
Yeah, thanks sherlock

we’ll see, maybe might make another open wheel one also

The 2023 Ryan Preece flip
that wasnt in speedweeks
That Lajoie hit on Newman in 2020 was brutal...right on the driver's side. Good lord!

Talladega's got to be next.
That when Michael waltrip climbed outta top hatch
