Yes they used to say This train terminates at on the Northern line. Although it's changed now. I believe the Jubilee line will change its announcements.
The old one has completely missed the fact that there was main line services/National rail which is the C2C service. It only mentions North London line (Silverlink/London overground) which stopped serving there in 2006.
It's sad that it is hard to find the person who did the old announcements. I don't know the full story to why the announcements were changed. All I know is she is Anita
So if TFL go ahead and close an entire tube line which is likely to be the Bakerloo line, they need to reopen Charing Cross Jubilee line branch, they can't leave a mainline station and that area with just one line. I think it was such a waste when they closed that in 1999 barely 20 years in service. Or another idea would be to turn the Baker Street to Elephant and Castle section into the the Jubilee line as the two lines were once connected and I heard there still is a physical connection around Baker Street
There is a connection at Baker Street. In fact, like Charing Cross, if you head straight (Via St John's Wood), without turning right at the crosspoint to Stanmore, you will arrive at the Northbound Bakerloo Line tracks.
What's interesting about that one is that when the ELL closed, the Celia's full announcement played but at the end was spliced a new announcement that said "replacement bus service".
The "Past" announcements do not sound like Celia Drummond except when she says "This train terminates at Finchley Road" then i can see the similarities
So as far as I know, Celia Drummond replaced all the other announcements but Anita still says “This train terminates at…” and “All change please.” Is that true?
Yes. However Celia also did an 'All Change Please', however it can only be said by going into the cab's infosystem and manually pressing that announcement. She also added more announcements eg. 'Lifts at next station closed' and more, except they can only be activated manually.
I'm so glad someone has found those old announcements, I think it's been since 2003 maybe 2004 since it changed.
I like how the old one describes which line you change for. I would, however, love to hear an announcement that says "where this train terminates"
The new one is more formal and professional, I prefer it rather than the old one
3:09 why does it sound like that
I think Celia Drummond's version of "This train terminates at" on the Northern line while they kept the Anita version on the jubilee line
No, northern line announcements are completely different
But it also uses Celia Drummond
Jubilee is “this train terminates at...” and northern is “this is a northern line train terminating at...”

Yup
c2c went straight from Barking to Limehouse at the time

@@sidewalk__ When did that change??
@@hakc97again idk, I just saw on an old tube map that was back in the NSE days that C2C trains did not call at West Ham
I like the old, the Charing Cross one still exists although unused
I didn't know the Jubilee line uses a mix of two announcements
New is better
Old one sounds more hopeful. New one has just a hint of despair. Or maybe that's just me.
