On the early "best of" album, called "The Best, The Rest, The Rare", you'll find a version of this track with Kiske on vocals, and it's absolutely stunning! If you like the music of this song, you'll love that version! Search for "victim of fate kiske" 😎

    Huge Helloween fan..
I really like the aggressiveness of this album n Kai's voice. He's singing n playing guitar at the same time. My fav is how many tears.
    Regards from Malaysia. Stay safe!

To me this first album is much better than the others. Raw pure power metal, with Kai leading guitar and vocals.

This was actually a great reaction. Sometimes I have the impression that people pretend to like the music only to get more likes, but you gave your actual opinion.
I agree that Michael Kiskeis on another level, but I'm really not a fan of his Helloween stuff. I am a huge fan of his work with Avantasia, but for Helloween I prefer Andi Deris and Kai.
If you react to to other songs from this album, I would suggest "How many tears" from Pumpkins United tour. It has all of the three vocalists.

Im a huge Helloween-fan. Love this album for what it is. Its the most raw-sounding Helloween album. Its recorded in 85. Not a bad first LP but it is what it is. Helloween have a huge catalog and Kai only sings on this one. How many tears is a good track from this one or Judas thats a single that came out after the LP just before Kiske joined. I think you will love much of the stuff they have Done. You seem to have similiar taste that I have. 😊

This album was basically the birth of the whole European power metal sound. This is four 20 year-old's making their first album. Very raw and aggressive, and Kai's vocal skills were pretty green here. But he sounds better on other songs on the album, this isn't one of his better ones. "How Many Tears" is a better vocal performance from this album. He left Helloween in '88 and started another band Gamma ray. He started singing again on that band's fourth album, and became a much better singer. Try "Rebellion in Dreamland" by Gamma Ray.
There is a remake of this song with Kiske on vocals too.

I love Helloween and Kai Hansen is my second favorite singer ever.🤘🏻 Please react to Helloween - Ride The Sky. Helloween invented power metal and this one is their first album.😋 It was Kai Hansen's first project and he invented power metal, unbelievable. I personally like Kai Hansen more than Michael Kiske but both are as good as can be. He actually stayed with Helloween until their third record so he was still the lead guitarist but then left because of Gamma Ray, his other band that he founded. So yeah, they didn't kick him out. But five years ago, they all reunited and now the band has seven members, including all three singers so that is something.😄

The first album is a classic, as most knowledgeable fans will tell you. Kai Hansen vocals take more than one listen to get, but once you do, you are hooked. He’s now as famous for his vocals as his song writing and guitar play.

Good evening, yes more Helloween. I think when you have been exposed to the many and various different styles of Metal and the singing involved with each you may learn to like such vocals, or not, each person has their own likes and dislikes when it comes to certain things. Also this was recorded in the mid 80's. The music, the speed of the guitars and the drumming was amazing, I also love the singing, however like you I first heard Kiske and it took me a while to appreciate that speed metal compared to the power metal. Try Occasion Avenue if you fancy some more Helloween: Helloween - Occasion Avenue + Tekst (Lyrics)(Orginal Song) - TH-cam , it has the lyrics on screen. Have a lovely day.

Im also not the biggest fan of the voice of Kai Hansen but I kinda got used to him and like him a bit. But still, I prefer Michael and Andi by far.
Kai was singing and playing guitar in this album. He didn't leave after this album. He was still playing guitar on the keeper albums
This song also has a version with Michael Kiske

Victim of Fate was on their very first release “Helloween” ep which was released in 1985. If you want to try another song sung by Kai Hansen(their first singer whom also was their guitarist along with Michael Weikath) may i suggest How Many Tears from their first full-length release “ Walls of Jericho”(also released later in 1985). Kai’s singing is a acquired taste for sure lol.

What is this guy's age? 30-32 I don't know, but I do know there is pattern in these new generations about prompt to judge in less than a minute. The '80s was a decade where time stood still, time didn't matter and everything was acceptable. Kay Hansen is the founder of Helloween, his voice was unique and in the '80s didn't matter how you sing or the color of your voice, as long as it sounded good for your band, and specially for your fans. Kay Hansen was the singer, song writer, lead guitar, and rhythm guitar. And for this guy on the reaction, try to do all that on a speed metal band and let us hear you so we can judge you! This is the problem with these new generations, most of them don't know shit but they disqualify everything that doesn't sound ordinary to them.

That first album is fantastic, I agree Michael Kiske is the better singer but imo Kai is better than Andi (the guy singing Power) specially live, if you gonna do more songs from the first album (actually Victim... is from the EP Helloween, not from the first album) try Ride the sky, Phantoms of death or fan favorite How many tears
