I'm not a new player, but I have put off doing Exploiter Orb for a long time. I tried going into this solo (it actually didn't match me with anyone). I didn't have any trouble surviving, but I was having trouble keeping the Raknoids from cooling the Orb in the second phase. I had to quit because I ran out of time to try. I hope DE improves the Vox Solaris side of Fortuna next, because nothing about it has been fun.
I enjoy these newcomer videos as a long time player, but one thing I'm missing is the team-up protocol. Especially for something like this, why and how to group is really useful information, since only one person needs to expend thermia, so running with 4 people means you (usually) only expend 1 thermia for 4 runs.
Epitaph can be farmed from Earth, Venus, and Saturn Voidstorms. Definitely reasonably accessible for a new player who has Exploiter Orb unlocked. If you can't do those Voidstorms, you are not in a position to deal with Exploiter Orb either. Railjack is a marvelous farm for new players, providing a good chunk of both credits and endo while requiring much less in terms of gear than more dedicated farms like Index, Sorties, Arbitrations, etc. Definitely agree that it's something that new players should get into, but I would be very hesitant to also recommend they do void storms once they have the unique non-evergreen rewards. DE has done a poor job of integrating void storms into the general reward structure, as the evergreen rewards that void storms offer don't really make up for the added time required to complete the missions. Things like ship traversal, repair, and just general Railjack mechanics are also not properly explained to new players, and the general worthwhile rewards are not adequately signposted for new players to engage with the content. There are a lot of relatively minor tweaks and changes that could drastically improve the new player experience for Railjack, and just Railjack in general.
Railjack is super underrated, veterans should stop forcing their opinion on newer players. I get most people hate Railjack because of it's launch but it very good now and new players should be incentivized to play it as it is one of the best ways for them to progress and get some very good loot much faster then in normal star chart.
My issue with Railjack is that it's so has a complete different gameplay mechanics that not everyone enjoy. Most people enjoy this game for it's starchart gameplay loop, not railjack gameplay loop.
Hoard the condensed canister (like 5 or 7) then throw them all one after another, shoot it too because it doubles the effect, after that focus on killing the spider cuz she will heat up PASSIVELY. The reason you throw condensed thermia is to permanently increase her heating up, so when you throw enough canister just kill the spiders
a few extra tips: you can grab 2 canisters before phase 2 by using your operator. if you destroy a side vent first in phase 1, then the other side vent, you can do both the back vents at the same time to avoid exploiter from climbing up. also part 3 of phase 2 is like broken or something. The coolant raknoids can't pathfind and she either doesn't buttslam, or just spams it.

Really late to the party. Was in for a refresher, as I haven't run Exploiter in ages and I have new players going with me. Thanks for the great guide! Random question... what is your Operator wearing?
I have done this with squads and solo. If you did not bring something to AOE the heat can while in the air, the butter zone for heat cans seems to be around 10 for each phase of the outdoor fight. After around 5 to 7, the overheat happens faster than she can vent but at 10 heat cans (sometimes 11 or 12 for the final phase), she will heat immediately to maximum. I sometimes throw my mech, a specter or med tower (Mantis deployable) to mark a zone for can collection. Be mindful that if she walks over a cold can, she will steal it and cool down. Rifles with high fire rate or a decent amount of toxin will tear through the raknoids. Even a Gorgon is a fair choice. If you want to grind her multiple times, I suggest going right back down to the cave and triggering her again. After two fights in the same instance, she starts to clip through the ground and you should reset at the Fortuna front gate.
