Dave did you know that Disney has it's own nursery and grows all of its plants, flowers and trees. I saw a story about it years ago and it's quite interesting. ❤
they contract alot of if. working in the nursery business, we had to compete with disney when ordering from socal nurseries. they contract with armstrong growers and monrovia
It seems that the clearing of landscaping from the dining area at Hungry Bear is giving both the train riders and dining guests more interactions. That's never a bad thing.
Those black things extending down, are where fire sprinklers are going to go. They leave them “stubbed out” so that when they go to put the finish surface on, they have something to measure for their sprinkler heads.
I’m watching this at 0530hrs on 6Nov. Thank you, David, for all you do. I found you during the Pandemic and you got me through that. You got me through my older daughter going off to college. You got me through my husband’s layoff. I have faith your positive energy and love of Disney will get me through this (waives hand at the future.)
I'm really looking forward to when both Tiana's and Mansion are 100% done! For your next adventure on the Mark Twain, take a moment and say hello to the operator on the first deck. Blue uniform cast member. Had such a great conversation learning about the boat! I'm talking to you, Doogie! Yes, that's his real name! What a joy.....
We need more and faster Construction updates when things as dramatic as the Haunted Mansion Glass Green house appears. But thank you so much for your hard work David. I was in the park yesterday and met Peter Tu and got a photo with him, Also yesterday I got on Tianns for the 4th time...and Very Wet again, wetter than grizzly river by far, I don't remember it being this wet when it was splash mountain
They appear to be a little late with the Xmas decorations though. I have been in Disneyland for Halloween and remember the changeover to be quite quick. In 2013, and 2019 the tree and Main Street decorations were up two days after 31st October.
Looks like they flipped the color scheme on the Haunted Mansion gift shop from light body and dark trim to medium body (light green) and light (or near equal value) trim (creamy yellow). At least on the soffits and joists, maybe the windows/doors will still be dark? They're also including pendant lantern lights from the protruding joists which were not included in the concept rendering, which I'm sure will be nice when walking through this area at night. Hoping this building has at least a bit of ominous or unsettling vibe.
The black pipes hanging down in the Haunted Mansion Gift shop are the fire sprinkler pipes. Once the finishes around them are complete they will replace those with the sprinkler heads. At Pixie Hollow it appears that they are resurfacing the bottom of the lagoon. I would bet once we see some sort of color finish going on it will be close to reopening.
I'm looking forward to you testing lightning lane more. I read that disneyland has like over 3,000 different plant species in the park. Would be cool if dinsey did some kind of educational thing showcasing them.
Just a small point of clarification: yes, the Imagineers all wear the “red” hard hats (technically a brown, full brim phenolic helmet), but plenty of tradesmen (thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands) wear them too (kinda why they exist to begin with). They are particularly popular with linemen and iron workers (although they seem to literally obscure the brown color with union and other stickers). I preferred one because I liked the wide brim (better sun protection and covers your ears better). The guy in the video is just a carpenter who happens to use a brown helmet. 16:24
@15:15 the way the Haunted Mansion mercantile blocks the view of Splash Mountain is pretty genius. And I hear they are thinking of ways to block the view of some of the other cool rides, like the Matterhorn and Big Thunder and Space Mountain.
Went the past 2 Sundays and there were workers busy on the elevator facade. Just yesterday, 11/3, they had all the lights on in the queue area. I feel like with these Sunday pushes, they are shooting for an 11/15 open for the HM queue. Fingers crossed!
On the new turnstiles, my guess is that there was something very temporary about the previous installation of the new gates. The construction walls are probably for a more permanent installation.
I hope they put some of the artificial ivy foliage on the roof so the building looks like it has some history -- and to cut down on how much roof is showing. It's a whole lot of roof!
I went yesterday to Disneyland park. First time in about 2 years. I got onto the Haunted Mansion virtual queue and after riding I wondered... what had changed? I just don't get it. And the astroturf in the new line seems tacky. This was a Monday and Tier 0 $104 pricing and the park felt packed. Most of the early morning big rides were 40 to 50 minute lines. In the afternoon and night the lines were 70 to 90 minutes. Hungry Bear barbecue was delicious and not to expensive. Cast member told me the railroad was closed Monday and Tuesday. No Fantasmic, no fireworks, no parades, and the experience felt diminished. It was great to meet cast members and members of Terri Hardin's tribe. As a lifelong fan of the parks (back to the 1960's) I don't see paying $180 or more and feeling it is a good value. -Frank
@8:00 Jeeze Need a PhD to enjoy the park now. I appreciate your coverage Mr. Baked. Just severely disappointed in Disney embracing the pay more for less model. I loved the park when a smart phone wasn't a necessity but an option. Thanks for keeping us informed!
I hear the Universal parks are implementing facial recognition so you can just walk around and enjoy the park, no phone...including walking right into the express line. In the abstract I don't love facial recognition but I realize that genie is out of the bottle anyway.
And unfortunately the main view you see of the building is the roof...which is boring and not very realistic. The fake shingles they use don't look real. For as great as Disney has gotten with rockwogk and artificial foliage, I wish they'd assign a team to develop a more realist artificial shingle as it's a pervasive need throughout the theme parks and what they are using detracts from the thematic architecture. Hopefully they'll put some artificial ivy foliage on that roof to cut down on what we have to see.
If there is one (ONE!!!) thing that needs to be improved at Disneyland Resort is the security check points into the parks and downtown Disney. I think it’s totally ridiculous that security there is still doing hand search on everything (EVERYTHING!!!) that guests care to bring into the park, while WDW is using scanning gates where most guests just walk thru at a pace, with bags in tow, without the necessity of a hand search. The Disney World system is ultra efficient in moving guests quickly and weeding apart those who need extra security and bag searches. In comparison at Disneyland, for every one single guest who is hand searched at the check point, 10-15 guests clear security at Walt Disney World, without causing delays for other guests waiting behind the one hand searched. How can a company that runs both resorts be efficient in Florida and inefficient and outdated in California? So Disneyland management it’s time to revamp the security check points with existing security equipment and make life easier for guests entering the resort and parks.
I'm going to disney with my 2 kids next week one is 19 and the other one 12we are going, only for one day but with a park hopper, what would you recommend we go on? One of my kids is a huge star wars fan, but the other one is a spider man fan, I can't decide if we try to go first to Rise or we go instead first to avengers campus, and what rise would you recommend for only one day, we are probably getting the lightning lane pass
I’m going in December to Disneyland and this is my first visit to any Disney park in a wheelchair. Do you by any chance know how or if folks in wheelchairs would get on Tiana’s adventure? Is there a way to get on through the exit? How would it work with the LL multi pass? Thanks.
My husband is a structural engineer and he saw a job at Disney land that I so wanted him to take just so I could see what Disney’s building. Unfortunately not the salary he wants. Dang!

Awaiting for the queues for HM and for Tiana's to be open so at least that can pull some crowds. Since the 2020 shutdowns It's been non stop with this. Can't help but feel the parks were neglected during that time.....I grew up going to the parks and I'd like to see this new normal reversed. It was very odd and rare that an attraction was closed for a long time (and for anything not preparing for a decorative switch. I remember when they started doing Haunted Mansion holidays! Which they also did a lot faster back then. There are even Disney+ docuseries about how they used to change the parks virtually overnight. I get why they changed it but it's part of a larger puzzle of how they have changed things. Also there were no reservations, fast pass became a thing when I was "coming of age". The parks were more affordable and though I don't doubt population was high, just as leading up to 2020: they didn't get the congealed masses of crowds like what frequently happens today. They had better crowd control back then and more attractions across the parks were open, with plenty of spaces open in between for people to veg out away from crowding. For my family with the basic pass it's a rare day that happens. Due to lack of attractions and just space! So much is blocked off anymore! Here's to hoping 🥂 I appreciate the coverage David does. 🙏 As cranky as I can get. Lol
FreshBaked. David, "Construction Day," lets go. Just outside the entrance to Tiana's Bayou ( 11:37) we finally found out how many workers it takes to change a light bulb at Disneyland. Cheers, Chris Perry.

Big Thunder will be reopening on my birthday. Looks like I got one of my wishes this year. Everyone can thank me later.
I would think so but who knows right
It seems that the clearing of landscaping from the dining area at Hungry Bear is giving both the train riders and dining guests more interactions. That's never a bad thing.
I have to compliment the park side market and nearby recent additions. Concept art was accurate and they all look beautiful
Thank you for pointing out the Frontierland decorations, I never would've noticed how CUTE those little swags are!!
Those black things extending down, are where fire sprinklers are going to go. They leave them “stubbed out” so that when they go to put the finish surface on, they have something to measure for their sprinkler heads.
I agree about seeing Main Street in its natural state without any added decor.
It works!!! the rope drop strategy works, thank you so much 5 top rides done last Thursday by 9:30.
I just got a picture with you here at disneyland a few hours ago i’ve been watching you for a while now it was really exciting to see you!

This was a great show! David always does well, but sometimes he just speaks to you.
This is a very nothing comment, but I’m always pleased to see classic coloured Christmas lights 👍

The Parkside Market in Palm Springs Disney looks fantastic.

They used to. I think they may of brought it back. It’s a tour called cultivating the magic

Okay… I’m curious how you know that the guy was a carpenter and not an imagineer?
Such a bummer. I loved that show in Pixie Hollow. Hope they do something amazing and surprising. 😊
Empty box at Space Mountain looks like stucco work.

I’m going to Disneyland in 2 weeks and my Family and I can’t wait to ride on Tiana’s and I’m so excited.😊😊😊

are you going on opening day?
18:00 Mark Twain and the Columbia, from one of my favorite spots!!

Well, you’re going to have to wait.

We were in Disneyland two weeks ago and the Adventure Land Tree House buckets were working then
HM close to done! Cant' wait. Thanks for the update. Still worried about the size of that gift shop but hoping it looks like it was always there
I hope they put some of the artificial ivy foliage on the roof so the building looks like it has some history -- and to cut down on how much roof is showing. It's a whole lot of roof!
Went last night 11/4, wait times were perfect for both parks nothing over 25
Is it just me or is anyone surprised Disneyland hasn’t released the Christmas foodie guide yet! I want to start planning already!!
they just did a few hours ago!
@@Almajimenez-n3oomg yay!!! Thank you 🙏

You went there in few month? That’s awesome.
Is that a question? 🤔

I think the trellis will block the view of the entire ADA elevator. Thanks David!
I like watching your videos, Dave

At Disneyland at happiest place on earth? Sounds good.

I'm going on Tiana's opening, but it will be my last day in the park... I'm hoping to get a virtual queue that day! 🤞
No Navidad Street party on the schedule for the weekends in December.. anything to worry about?
is it a fair assumption to say the skim will be done in time for the candlelight concerts next month
