- We’re back to check out Liliac’s live cover of Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart from their 2019 show in Cumming, GA! These guys totally have that classic rock energy and we couldn’t help but say they’re the perfect band to tackle hits like this. We even threw out that they’d absolutely kill a cover of The Doors…if they haven’t already!
Hit play to catch our reaction and let us know what songs we should check out next! If you could be so kind…please like and subscribe!!!

They haven't covered the doors but they have a video of Jefferson Airplane's somebody to love, and she does Grace Slick Proud! Amazing and she was only like 16ish in that video.
Yes they did! 👍
check out Liliac's cover of "Somebody to Love" by Jefferson Airplane.
Second the request.
I third that. She did Grace better than I thought possible.
You can't react to too many LILIAC songs for me, love them all.
holy shit. i am just blown away. im the biggest critic of people covering Janis, and this is one of the best covers I've ever heard. im just absolutely stunned. also, their drummer is just amaze balls. I've been a fan of her since they came out. she reminds me of the crazy/showoff personality drummers.
They have always been independent, unusual in this day. They originally lived in California and moved to Georgia at the end of the Covid pandemic. I think you would love their original Mars (live in Cummings, GA) from this same concert. It begins with an amazing guitar solo by Sam.
They played on the Santa Monica Pier for 5 years but were told not to come back , they were drawing crowds that were too big and it was a " public safety hazard" . You should check out Mars Live from the same show . They have great original music also . It doesn't matter what you choose , they kill it !
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for reacting to my request. You both rock!
So. filmed back in August 2024, recorded right off the sound board, LIVE on stage....sweep picking guitar solo....Abigail before she went on Maternity Leave....Rock Fest 2024 in Wisconsin....."Anxiety kills the Beautiful" an "Un-released" Original song by Liliac...
They didn't cover The Doors but they did cover Queen- "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champion's" at the same concert.
Awesome band❤❤❤ thanks for playing my girls songs❤❤❤ Love Janis!!!!
Emma Franklin did it first in 1967. Lilac has 3 cover and 3 originals albums so hope you keep going down this rabbit hole.
Melody has the chameleon voice.
This is a blast from the far past! Great cover, both vocally and musically. Used to love the Big Brother & Holding Company album, Cheap Thrills, that this song was on originally. The album cover was very cool too - a comic strip cover drawn by the twisted genius Robert Crumb.
🤘😃🤘
The parents are Romanian, but the kids were all born in California. They are and always have been independent, though thankfully they recently signed with a new booking agency. Now they're starting to get booked at festivals. Sam, the guitarist, posted a picture of him with Dany and Ale from The Warning at a festival in 2024. Their next tour will have Paul Stanley's son's band, Amber Wild, opening for them. I saw Liliac in October of 2023 in Columbus, Ohio and had a great time. The crowd was fairly small but really into them. I got up to the front and could hear Melody singing and riffing over venue's PA. She's absolutely the real deal.
Man! I would have loved to have been there! I almost made it to one of their shows in Oklahoma this past summer, and it was only a 2 hour drive away from my house!!! But had a situation arise with an elderly family member and plans changed the day before the show! I WAS ALMOST THERE! But life happens! I'm hopeful I'll get another chance in the future! Almost 7 years now I've been following this band on the internet, I can't wait to see them live! 👍🇺🇸
Besides this song and mars, they also have we will rock you we are the champions from this same concert
Mars live in Cumming Georgia with Sam's solo... If you Dare?
Grear reaction. This is my favorite version of the Erma Franklin song which Janis Joplin covered.
Rainbow in the Dark Dio cover was amazing
Need Somebody to Love is another cover they really did well. Melody was playing bass in it as well as vocals.
Huh. Now that you mention it, there are a lot of family bands out there lately...
*Looks at my brothers* ...Nope.
Kinda wonder, with the singer's rasp, how Liliac would sound covering AC/DC. Might be an interesting take.
True! I think they would sound awesome doing TASTE OF INDIA by Aerosmith! 👍
Good cover of my favorite song from Janis together with "Cry Baby". But haven't heared it since the 80s i guess.
Hi Jimmy & Gringa. If you love funk music, there is a new cover by Franz Rhythm. The beautiful ""PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC"" (Wild Cherry). P.S. This cover is released 12.28.2024. Greetings from Italy
They’re good musicians and I enjoyed the cover but their movements are so contrived it almost feels like a bad parody, like watching a spinal tap video.
liliac always trying to hard 🥴
What you like bands that dont try at all might as well not watch anything.
Sometimes, inorder to get the song correctly done, one does have to try a bit harder than SOME 3 pc bands who don't even try...
