@@hagen9027Are your shaders pre-compiled? If not and if it compiles while you play this may be why, you can enable this in Steam settings. Go to your settings and in the "game" tab there should be an "other settings" or something similar. There will be a shader related option there, turn it on and restart. It will take some time to compile when launching the game but should prevent stuturing hopefully
I think gas giants can only spawn in purple systems. I have only found them there, but once you see one it is very obvious on the map. I think it also tells you when you hover over them in the place where it would say "water" or "dissonant".
@@DirtTheGamer To be more precise you need to unlock them via a specific mission that happens AFTER you complete the outophage storyline. I'm sure some tutorials will be released on TH-cam in a couple of days by various TH-camrs but yeah, they apparently ONLY appear on purple star systems. It's kind of a bummer to have to complete most of the main story to unlock them but it's also cool since it is (as even Sean put it) "end game" stuff for more experienced players. Love your videos, and good luck.
To unlock the new planets you need to finish basically all the campaign and then go to a dissonant solar system and pulse drive it will activate the new mission and you will eventually Unlock the new purple solar system were all the new stuff is.
The gas giants (and other new planet types) are unlocked through story progression, so if you havent finished the atlantid and atlas quests the trigger quest wont show up. You will be able to explore all the new systems after but it is quite a long quest and I havent finished it yet. There is also a tour of the new features coming in the next expedition 17
When you were restoring your first star system you should have chosen "titan". It's a codename for a gas giant. This allowed me to have it in the very first purple star system I discovered. Thanks for the video! Can't wait for more videos from you about it!
This amazing update, yesterday I started a game in the morning after half a year of pause from playing. Then in the second part of the day, an update has come, and I was shocked that the glitch about entering/exiting the planet was gone, it was so impressive that I even didn't notice other updates. Thanks you for highlighting another update changes. And thanks for developers ❤
If they would add multiple biomes per planet being allowed so that I haven’t seen everything major in the first 20 seconds I’m there the game will actually maybe double in quality. Think about getting to explore across each planet to see even just 2-3 different environments connected to each other with areas of somewhat varying sentinal control and such to make a planet really truly feel deep and compelling. It would be so cool.
The pressure drains life support pretty fast though. I wish there was some special technology\shields you can recharge similar to hazard protections for deep water. I just don't like using Nautilon.
So pleased that you - And ESPECIALLY Carl - are pleased...I am too....we DO have so much in common! Like breathing air....same here! Who'd'a thunk it, eh?!? Be well Dirt & all.
the pcvr version always get updated same time as the normal update dont know about playstation tho and putting it on standalone quest might not be possibe as its just too hard to accomplish
So I’m playing the cursed expedition, and every time I tried to leave a planet since the update my screen would turn white with a black patch in the middle and just freeze like that. Is this because I’m still on the expedition?
Sadly I cant appreciate all of the changes due to the lacking hardware on my side, nevertheless a beautiful gaming experience on relatively low settings!

Dirt, if you want a gas giant to find, you should try to get the new mission done. You get to create your own system.
