I was working in an ambulance during Y2K. I was stationed in a small shopping complex with the state police who were watching the liquor store because they felt when all the electronics crashed, that would be the first place to be looted. 😂 When nothing happened, we were all relieved.
I was 17 years old and was at my now ex-wife's aunt and uncle's house... It's crazy how much has changed in 25 years. Three kids later and divorced And grandfather and my ex-wife's aunt and uncle that I was at are now both dead along with most family. I had fun that night. It really does seem like yesterday Mark. It's amazing how fast it went by.
It’s crazy how fast time flies and how much we have all changed in those 25 years, thanks for sharing Christopher and have yourself an amazing weekend my friend....:)......;)
Alot of it was software companies fear selling updates an what not. Funny thing is freeze dried food has a 25 year shelf life. So the food people stocked up is all expired as of now.
Yeah, I think the software companies were just making money off of it! lol....Like I said who needed a Y2K compliant toaster anyway.....lol...thanks for watching....:)
Not necessarily you can still eat it if it is still in tact and no moisture has gotten it. It's packed like MRE meals and they can last forever as far as some of the main ingredients go.
Hi mark, across the pond my family didn't panic at all about 2000 we had friends over on Nye and had a 5 course gala dinner cooked by my good self as I have been a professional chef since the age of 14yrs and was a sous chef at The Savoy London. I knew a lot of people were talking and taken in by the media hype!! But we just had a great time!! My best wishes to you and your family. Peter Stoessel Bridport Dorset England.
Thanks for sharing Peter, a lot of it was total hype for sure. Glad you and your family had a good time that night. Thanks for tuning in my friend and greetings from Vancouver Island Canada....:)
I cannot recall exactly which year but sometime in the next 20 years modern day computers are set to run into similar issues because they only hold enough memory to count time until then
Mark, I was 14, one month from turning 15 when everyone was worked up over Y2K. Even at 14 I knew the hysteria was unwarranted. I flew to Virginia Christmas day in 1999 and returned just shortly after the New Year. Wasn't concerned one bit about the plan falling out of the sky 😂.
Being prepared boils down to 4 items. Candles / Water / dried food / defense weapon. Candles provide light an heat an means to heat water. If the world really gets to the point of no man's land you probably don't wanna live in it anyway.
Aw man I love Orange juice but I never seem to actually buy any lol. That's rice bowl also looks pretty great Mark! I asked a few months ago for a shout out for a Robert, it's okay if you forgot, just looking forward to it!
th-cam.com/video/PNi_C_m6SUE/w-d-xo.html I did a shout out for Robert on this video but it is about ten minutes into the video and not at the beginning. I would be happy to give you another shout out my friend. The bowl and the orange juice was amazing. Thanks for tuning in my friend and have a great weekend.....:).
@@auralfixatedasmr8647 I usually fall asleep at the 8 minute mark, my bad! I would be honored to have another one, but It was my fault for not hearing it.
Howdy Mark! Happy Friday. I'm a steak cutting fool today. They're beauties! Some day I'd like to serve Linda and you a dinner from this place. I believe you'd really enjoy it. It's so unexpected from a small mountain town in Oregon. Peace to you always and all ways!
Steak cutting, my favorite past time...lol..I thought of you yesterday coz Linda bought a nice juicy rib eye that we were going to have last night but will have tonight instead. Sounds like you really enjoy your work Bill. I hear Oregon is an amazing state....thanks for tuning in my friend.....:)
I just turned 26, I don’t really have any memories of y2k seeing as I was one year old lol I do remember something in 2012 bc of the Mayan calendar ended and people were getting anxious about that but that’s the only thing that happened in my lifetime that’s similar to y2k
Well Ryan you really did not miss anything, not where I live anyway. I suppose there were some glitches but all in all it passed like any other New Years eve....thanks for tuning in my friend....;)
It was my senior year. My HS sweetie and I drove up and parked at the town's old highway to watch the last sunset of the century. I snapped a pic on my disposable camera (which doesn't do anything justice😂) Probably the last time I had a good boyfriend 😜
Hey Jeannie, I did nothing spectacular either to ring in the new century. How are you doing these days my friend?...Hope you have a great weekend and once again let me know how you are coping with the situation down there....:)
@auralfixatedasmr8647 my brother was working for Starbucks at the time and they had like 10 crew members open the store in case no registers would work🤣

Off my face on mushrooms running down the street in my hometown with a few friends, push-starting a car and laughing like idiots. 😂
