I feel like Jeremy is too humble. It’s like he feels he doesn’t deserve to be in his position. I think he needs to realize teams picked him up for a reason; because he’s a good point guard and a good teammate and a good person
Asians are generally humble. iq probably plays a part, overthink is common and you end up realizing there’s more you don’t know and that runs against confidence.
Jeremy, I was one of those guys who wrote a lot of bad stuff about you on a lot of internet forums. I honestly didn't think you would be reading those comments and how it could effect you. It really puts things into perspective for me that public figures are humans just like everyone else. I am sorry for all the hate you got. Nobody should go through what you went through. Thank you for shedding light on online bullying and racism. Just because we're behind a computer, our words spread like wildfire.
We’re all displacing our own pain when we do things like this, even if we don’t realise it at the time. It’s easy to direct it towards public figures as we forget they’re real people like us. Respect you for admitting it!
This is an example of our God using His people and basketball as an instrument to preach the gospel and reach out to many lives that have anxiety. May God be with you always.
Sometimes we feel like we need to reach a certain potential, to be this talented person in our field, but the bible never says that we need to be that, and that helps with internal/external expectations We are anxious because of uncertainty and the future, not knowing what will happen. But God is beyond time and he is sovereignly in control, that is why we should rely on him and pray i.e. to let our requests be made known to him Philippians 4:4 Its not easy to deal with anxiety and im really glad jeremy brought some light into his own struggle, its been helpful to know someone else is also facing the same issues
Since you created Linsanity, I started watching the NBA. Until you came to Taiwan to play the Steelers and Kings, my whole family still paid attention to you! We all love you and like to watch you play. We all know that you must have high self-esteem. This is a source of pressure! You are 35 years old and have suffered serious injuries. Winning or losing is no longer important, because what we want to see is Jeremy Lin enjoying the process of playing. You know what? It is a pleasure to watch you play! This enough!
JOSHUA 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Thank you for using your platform to share your personal struggles and how you’ve been able to apply scripture and God’s truth. Super relatable in so many facets of life. I know that God is using you to share his love!
I needed this passage jeremy.. Anxiety has had an immense stronghold on me this past month, stemming hyperventilation, panic attacks, head, heart, and digestive issues but truly no weapon shall prosper‼️🙏🏽I’ve been in and out of the hospital this past month but nothing major to be found other than it to be anxiety, so just goes to show how the enemy is truly always working to infiltrate our mind, but the Lord indeed prevails🙏🏽I’ve been feeling much better recently as I’ve been actively seeking God more, and this passage is confirmation to me that God is truly in favor🤞🏽🤍Bless u bro‼️
This is real strength. Let's be honest, we all experience anxiety at some stage in our lives - it's actually natural to feel this way sometimes - but if this happens often then we need to seek help, talk to someone we trust and learn to love ourselves more - with time, this will get better with the right support.
It takes a lot of strength to stand up and talk about things that make you vulnerable. I can only express my utmost respect for you Jeremy and I know exactly how hard it is to feel like you can't live up to the expectations of others. Thank you for your words and openness, that is the sign of true greatness. I've enjoyed watching you play in the nba before, now I know all the more what you've taken on for your dream. What always helped me was to realize that it doesn't matter what others think and that I don't give a shit about it… ✌️
Thank you for this, Jeremy. Anxiety has had a stronghold on me for the longest time but it has been aggravated over the past few months due to a traumatic family event and career pressure. You speak with so much wisdom and courage, I could relate to your struggles (although in a different context) and the verses you shared resonated with me - they brought me to tears. I think God is speaking to me. Much love to you and God bless xx
Thank you for sharing this. I struggle on gameday because of pregame anxiety and don't play like the way I usually do in scrimmages. Had a rought performance yesterday, I believe God sent me this video for guidance. God bless you bro!
Jeremy is so humble. It is so difficult being one of the only Asian players in the NBA - while having a “below average” NBA body. Of course self doubt is only natural in his position. He also had to carry the weight of the entire Asian community on his shoulders. Imagine having that much pressure. Knowing billions of eyes are on you and putting their faith and dreams into you as a pioneer. Jeremy is a legend because he paved a way for young Asian hoopers to believe that it is possible - because of you Jeremy, you allowed many Asian hoopers not to have (or have less) of this massive doubt/anxiety. Thank you Jeremy.
Those Charlotte days you could definitely see Jeremy enjoy the game regardless of expectations and performance. I've been a fan since 2015-16 when he played for the Hornets, and honestly, I loved watching him that season. It was sad to hear that he did notice and read those hateful comments. When he was in the NBA he would be mentioned a lot in social media. I remember defending him a lot on Twitter and Reddit during the Brooklyn nets season, super unlucky with Injuries. Almost 10 years since then and he's really shown a love for basketball, staying in the game for this long. Nothing but respect and love, thanks for showing me that Asians can be the star and not shy away from it!
The only thing this man has to be anxious about is how he is much better than Melo and Kobe he is, and yet the world chases after those losers. Jeremy Lin is a GOAT!!!!! Much love from Toronto my man!!!!!!!
Wow, this is something I never knew Jeremy Lin suffered from. This to show once again we’re not perfect people. Even pro ball players like Jeremy Lin suffers from anxiety like we do. I hope he continues to succeed and for God to breakthrough his anxiety day by day. Keep going man!
Jeremy praise God for the wonderful story and encouragement that has come because of ur anxiety. Hope that the next time you’re going through it and wish u never had this anxiety, you just remember what has come from it and how you encouraged random ppl like me through it!
I really appreciated your sharing today; it was truly helpful for dealing with anxiety. I hope Jeremy fully enjoys the games this season and always feels the support of your many fans. May the strength of that support never become a source of anxiety. Wishing you even more health and happiness on the court this season!
I have anxiety problems and it’s suddenly getting worse theses two days. I do really know the feeling of my body is shaking and hyperventilation, like my body is out of control. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this video comes to the top of my homepage. Your video really gives me courage to face anxiety again and again. Grateful for all that you’ve done.
Jeremy 林哥. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s been over a decade since Linsanity blew me away. You’ve been a great role model for many basketball fans here in china. We miss you here and hope you’re doing well. Wish you success and health. 谢谢林哥 for being you.
Fear and anxiety is definitely a difficult emotion to overcome. Thank you for sharing, this video was well produced and articulate. This reminds me of when Kevin Love and DeMar DeRozan revealed about their depression, mental health is just as important as physical health for professional athletes. It's a nice reminder that we're all human beings, fans can easily forget and expect athletes to be this invincible super human and they get paid so well that they have no problems with their life. I'm glad you're managing your pre-game anxieties, it must not be easy especially since your performance is entirely dependent on your career and job. You're awesome and keep up the good work!
Having spent 9 years in the NBA and over 14 years in his basketball career, longer than most basketball players, I always wondered what made this man so strong. I never expected Jeremy to have such a side of struggle and anxiety off the court. Thank you for always being sincere in sharing your struggles and selflessly telling us about your experiences. It helps me realize that I am not alone. I believe your anxiety stems from always striving for better performance, whether in the NBA, CBA, or even playing in Taiwan. It shows not only your respect for yourself but also for the audience. It’s not just your impressive skills, but your serious attitude toward the game that makes you my most admired athlete. Well, I hope you can truly enjoy the new season!
Jeremy we love u no matter how u perform. Ur fans celebrate with u when u make the shots and we will still be here supporting u even if u have bad days. We will be there with you no matter what. We just want to see u happy playing the game that you love so much
Wow this is kind of insane man. If you had not really shared with us, I would totally not expect this. This makes your career even more amazing and impressive. I’m definitely going to cheer for you this season! I always thought that some players are just naturally tough to no caring about missing shots or having bad games. I thought this type of personality gives them such an edge on the court because they are “built different.” This actually makes more sense now. People shouldn’t be defined with anxiety and just like you, people can still do great things DESPITE being anxious.
Hey jeremy, thank you for your true sharing. There must be many people who pursue excellence who are also worried about this and keep reincarnating. I hope that one day we can all find the best way to deal with anxiety and continue to love this sport.
Thank you Jeremy for this powerful testimony. I’ve had pregame anxiety when I get ready to ride bulls at a rodeo. It’s that fear, and anxiety that i don’t know if going to walk outta the arena ok or alive but through faith and Christ Jesus he’s always there. Again Thank you Jeremy I’ve been a fan of yours since you started playing for Harvard.
Jeremy, thanks bro for being vulnerable with your struggle and sharing how God has helped you, all for the sake of encouraging someone out there. You’ve encouraged me.
Thank you Jeremy. This film is really fantastic and inspiring. We should trust more on God in our daylily life. Hope everyone will believe in JESUS and enjoy his unconditional love.
I can't describe more for my relating to this video. You really stated it so well🎉. It'll definitely help so many of us to see our performances in a healthy way. I really appreciate this lecture. All the best❤
Big Thks to you Jeremy, not as a professional player but as a great person sharing this experience to us who r now maybe currently experiencing through this but too young to deal w it.
Thanks for sharing! It's good to know that you have these anxiety and still go on to do your best! Thanks for the suggestion of writing the fears down and then finding a scripture verse to counter it! Thank you for sharing your faith! Blessings! 😇
I’m glad to watch this video right now, specially I have to host the meeting, do my research reports, working my job…etc, so many things in this week and few more months in the future. It’s really help for me, hope I can do this’ll, thank you, Jeremy!
Thank you Jeremy Lin for this insperation video talking about anxiety becuase when was an athlete in highschool I dealt with the pressure to perform my best even though I was a under dog like you and you were one of my favriote basketball players and still is. I was looking for a video for a school project and this came up and it inspired me to write about becuase alot of people in sports and in general deal with alot of anxiety and they dont know what to do and right now mental health is a big issue in the world so I feel like these video inspire others to see the struggles that people go through and not just athletes.
Such a great video and it came at just the right time. Thank you for the tip about talking to myself instead of just listening. That really stuck with me.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This was truly helpful and couraging and... inspiring. Also please don't forget that there are fans who have faith in you, although it might not be comparable to God... our heart will always be with JLin.
I am surprised he would still have anxiety when he plays in CBA or Taiwan league. It shows how much respects the game and wants to be the best version of himself. Really admirable.
That 22:00 min mark where he talks about the sea, the saying goes “a smooth sea never makes a skilled sailor”. Embrace the tough times, as they are the ones that harden us
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Hey! Jeremy, could you make much more videos to transmit your experience in dealing with problems like this videos, because it truly educated us a lot, and I even made some notes about your lesson, so hope to see your following videos, thx.
I deal with anxiety before show too, I know how it feels Anybody think its no big deal and we may get used to it But when I see the crowd my heart starts pounding! But I know when I get on it I will or I should enjoy the stage😳 So usually I'll push myself and ignore the problem Thankyou for sharing the story, I will keep learning how to deal with my anxiety. Love from Taiwan for 12 years see u in the new taipei home court this weekend
Jeremy, I am not sure if you will see this. I used to work for MLSE (Raptors) and I walked by you and Siakam once. Too bad I didn't have enough courage to speak to you. As a fan since Linsanity I saw all your ups and downs and you were struggling and doesn't seems to be having fun in Toronto. I feel like you can feel that everyone wants the 2nd Linsanity everywhere you go myself included, to the point not for my enjoyment but to be able to tell everyone it wasn't a fluke. If we feel that way imagine what you feel. I keep wanting to tell you although we all look up to you and hope you will be our stereotype breaker, it breaks our heart seeing you getting crushed by the pressure. I knew you must have spoken to lots of people but I was hoping may be the voice of a fan telling you can relax and don't bare the "obligation" would help. And then I saw you cried in Taiwan after that championship summer. I couldn't help to feel disappointed like our hero fell, but then I was mad I couldn't even find the courage to offer you some words that might help. I am so happy seeing you open up more in recent years and teaching the new generation of Asian baller about your journey. I really hope one of them becomes an all stars in the nba and tell the world you are their mentor. You deserve a place in basketball history
The one with great power comes to great responsibility. Jeremy is a strong person, so he has to face these pressure. Hope Jeremy can deal with the pressure and feel happy.
I saw that game against the Blazers. That was not an unforced turnover on Lin. It was a forced turnover. Further, Lin didn't even get stripped from the front on good D vs Lin's ball handling. Lin got stripped from *behind.* No real basketball fan is going to look at a strip from behind and even comment on that. But Clutch made it a point to put out a video on the whole thing and blow it out of proportion and Clutch Fans went off. And the strip happens in front of the Rockets bench out near the three point line- if you play ball (this IS the NBA.....) its also on your teammates on the sidelines to say someone is coming up behind you. And then the amazing thing is after the play, you can see Lin realizes the issue and then goes all the way back to the basket and almost grabs the rebound (over the other Blazers and Dwight !) after the next shot goes up. Then there is a scramble for the ball again and it goes back to the Blazers and Williams takes the three and gets the bucket. But who is the defender coming from way under the basket all the way out to contest the three ? That was JLin. Where were the other Rockets crashing the boards or defending the three ? Any real basketball coach is going to be seeing him doing these intangibles, and know that is the guy you want on the team, because things will eventually go your way. I guess my point is: really have to ignore the basketball illiterati on Clutch Fans, who were also racists who needed the Asian guy to perform at a 10x standard compared to everyone else.
Damn Jlin, thanks for sharing this. I always figured you must've been dealing with deep mental challenges that was holding you back from playing your game during those years before, during and after the Linsanity run, and this confirmed it all. I could tell when the stars aligned and certain stars were out of the game and it was all up to you, you balled out. Probably because you were able to momentarily let go of the anxiety to have to play a certain way and your real game came out, not the anxious, scared-to-make-a-mistake player you were in Houston with that shitty McHale coach who benched you for every minor mistake. It really must be divine intervention during that Linsanity run, that reached down and removed the clouds in one's mind for time being, to show you what its like to live free from your deepest fears, fears of your own making. And just like in God's plan, it went away as fast as mysteriously as it came, and you were left to figure out how to develop your own strength to let go of your fears so that you can play your real game every game. This experience resonates so much with me also as an asian american, as I have experienced so much setback in life due to my own battles with anxiety and social anxiety. I couldn't achieve what everyone thought I could due to it, but through the years I have developed inner strength and learned to let go of so much of my fears that the clouds have dispersed and the sky is bright again. Keep sharing these personal struggles brother, it helps us reflect on our own battles and inspires us to evolve our soul 🙏
Any place to see ur new Taipei kings highlights? Always with u Lin..wish u saw urself once how we Asians have seen u for more than a decade.. Wish u were on the warriors still after that latest g league stint ..that was a championship team.. U are a champion Lin n will always be .. don't let those racist coaches n league ditter u from what u actually achieved.
I feel like Jeremy is too humble. It’s like he feels he doesn’t deserve to be in his position. I think he needs to realize teams picked him up for a reason; because he’s a good point guard and a good teammate and a good person
That's something many professionals and elites are having, it's called Imposter Syndrome.
1CORINTHIANS 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 💗
Asians are generally humble. iq probably plays a part, overthink is common and you end up realizing there’s more you don’t know and that runs against confidence.
Anxiety always rooted to the reason we feel we're not good enough which is something the opposite from being humble
Jeremy, I was one of those guys who wrote a lot of bad stuff about you on a lot of internet forums. I honestly didn't think you would be reading those comments and how it could effect you. I'm struggling with anxiety right now. This video means a lot to me. Thank you, Jeremy, for your selfless sharing!

Thank you Lord for making jeremy willing to share. God is always with each of us.

Love you Jeremy! I will always have your back! I'm glad you're back on the court, just like I asked you at the postgame autograph session.❤

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Hey! Jeremy, could you make much more videos to transmit your experience in dealing with problems like this videos, because it truly educated us a lot, and I even made some notes about your lesson, so hope to see your following videos, thx.
Thanks for this advice, Jeremy - I'll do my best to apply it to my daily life!
May the Lord continue to bless you brother with and beyond basketball.

Thank you , Jeremy. That’s an important topic about mental health.❤Thans for your sharing.
I deal with anxiety before show too, I know how it feels
Anybody think its no big deal and we may get used to it
But when I see the crowd my heart starts pounding! But I know when I get on it I will or I should enjoy the stage😳
So usually I'll push myself and ignore the problem
Thankyou for sharing the story, I will keep learning how to deal with my anxiety. Love from Taiwan for 12 years see u in the new taipei home court this weekend

Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Much love, bro. God bless
I love this series, you share your story, and I enjoyed it.

This is a really valuable video! Thank you for sharing Jeremy!
A leader!
I hope Jeremy will play as chill as your charity basketball, pickelball and video games someday❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏
Nice, Jeremy I admire you
Thank you , Jeremy ❤
God first 🙏🏿
Thank you for sharing these.❤
We all deal with it! Thanks for sharing your story!!
加油 加油👍👍👍❤❤❤
Keep sharing these personal struggles brother, it helps us reflect on our own battles and inspires us to evolve our soul 🙏
such an amazing video bro!
Thank you Jeremy. I'll keep going!
謝謝你
