- "Why do you want to work here?" can also be asked as "Why [Company name]?". While this sounds like an easy question to answer, most of the interviewees share bad or generic reasons to why they want to work at the company they are interviewing with.
In this video I'll share 5 things you can do to create a great answer to "Why do you want to work here"

I love seeing Terraforming Mars on the furniture in the background :)
One of my favorite board games!
@@PMDiegoGranados mine too! Have you played the Steam version also?
I have not played the Steam version of it, but I do play Surviving Mars :)
@@PMDiegoGranados That's awesome! My partner loves Surviving Mars, haven't tried it but it's on my list. Love anything from Paradox though
Would love to know something similar to answer questions like strengths and weaknesses
Thank you for the suggestion, Srishti! I’ll add it to the backlog :)
Thank you for the tips! I do have a question - for some companies that I'm especially interested in, I do a case study on. Is it appropriate for a close-ended question such as "why do you want to work here?" to sort of expand into a general discussion about the product/company? Usually if I'm interested in a non-public company, I have a lot of questions I want to ask that cannot be answered online
Thanks for asking! I would frame it as "why do you want to work here?", when you finish your answer you can tell your interviewer that you have many questions and ask if it's better to ask them now vs at the end.
Hi Diego,
One question is how have you contributed towards innovation in your current PM role? Can you share some pointers please.
Hi Mehnaz, is this a question you had in an interview? I'll add it to my backlog of ideas 😊
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you so much for details ..... i had one interview where I was asked how do you handle as PM if your priority list item is being moved back ? Escalate then why and what all you will do
Thank you, Mahak! I'm glad you liked the video!
That is a good and typical question for Product Management Interviews "How would you prioritize?" Sounds like your interviewer kept asking follow up questions. How did the interview go?
If there are multiple products for a company, do you suggest picking one? Or any tips on how to approach that scenario?
thanks for asking! I would recommend picking 2 at the most. Mostly because of time and to make it concise. For example, when I interviewed with Microsoft I always mentioned that 2 products that I really liked (at the time) were Skype and Xbox, because both allowed me to stay connected with my family and friends abroad. It was "easy" to relate both products to the same sentiment: connecting with others.
I don't think there's a perfect formula or magic number here, but try to make it easy on yourself to tell a concise story. Let me know if this helps!
