Out standing video and review - believe it or not I'm actually browsing and shopping for the Savage #93 and haven't been able to decide which I want - 17hmr vs 22wmr -- this video really helps thank You !!! Great job !!!
You know with just using one brand of bullet that is excellent 100 yard accuracy for the 22 Magnum! I'm sure if you had the time to try a variety of different 22 magnum ammo in different bullet weights, etc the 22 Magnum would really clean up. I have both the 22 Magnum and 17HMr in the discontinued CZ 452 models. I'm yet to get my 22 Magnum to the range yet. Both have been bedded and floated and the 17 HMR will put 5 shots inside a 10 cent piece on a still day. Plus you only have to aim dead on up to 100 yards and their is no change in point of impact with my 17HMR. I've bought about 5 different brands of 22 Magnum ammo and I'm keen to take the 22 Magnum out to see how she groups. Thanks for sharing!

I just picked up a 93 FV in .22 WMR. You're not exactly slumming with the CCI MAXI JHP. I'm grouping sub-MOA at 100 yds. right out of the box with a 2-7X 1" tube and a few varmints with and w/o wings recently tell me that the cartridge/ammo hits . . . awfully hard! - Entertaining range test.
seen much tighter groups with the .22 mag at 50 yards. mine likes Federal 50 grain. It is bad that you can not get the ammo you like, for each rifle, think your group would tighten up a lot for the .22 mag. Thanks for the video, great shooting at 100 and 200 yd. what happened at 50 yd. with the .22 mag. ?
I always thought the 22WMR was a 100 yard rifle but recent test have shown poor or no expansion at that range with both 30 grain and 40 grain. Selling mine off.
Thanks and yep the mags suck had to beat my mag guild slots down with a dead blow hammer to get them working better. Great with everything buy full 40m0r 45 grain ammo. I got he model 93 Troy L version advertised to use the CCI Ammo. LOL that CCI ammo in 22 mag sucks. will not feed reliably.
@@Lowballinoutdoorz I got the 95 grain Vmax figured out and the 120 grain spear gold dots I shot some 130 grain barns TSX out of it I'm going to try this deer season with it but it only be about a 50 yard shot so it should do well but way out there I don't know if that bullet would expand enough to do what it needs to do
Don't mean to be a stick in the mud, but this little thing called "expansion ratio" should make the difference in barrel length largely irrelevant. The higher expansion ratio of the .22 WMR is a better fit for an 18" barrel, while the .17 HMR with a lower expansion ratio is more likely to benefit from the increase in barrel length.

I was thinking in buying a 22 wmr or 17 hmr bolt rimfire. Now i have no doubt. I prefer the 22wmr.

The 22 WMR definitely has more recoil. I have the 93 in 22 WMR and it's a very accurate rifle.
