So great seeing your video pop up on my feed Russ! The DIY boat world has missed you amigo! Your intro resonates so much with me, the REAL world of trying to stay productive/busy/grow a business and create videos at the same time. It’s truly a second job just to film/edit and I wish folks understood the extent of how much work you put into making these videos snd how much it slows down our own productivity. Thanks again Russ, top notch video! Cheers!

Thanks. Yeah even this poorly edited video took me over 4 hours last night. It’s really hard to come home and sit at the computer all night after a full day of work. I’m gonna do my best to keep making something. 👍🏼

No real way to learn fiberglass work but to just learn from mistakes. Makes me feel better because I thought it was just me ! Hang in there !

Good to see you back. A video showing how easily things can go wrong, even when you have carefully thought things through. Anyway you stuck with it and recovered from the mistake. Looking forward to further episodes.

    Looks awesome!
Lots of tricks & knowledge!! First time i worked with A B foam is after i did a floor job on Boston Whaler & the foam about blew my new floor right out if the boat.. at least the water now ean off to the sides..kinda like i meant to build it like that.

My friend builds big sport fish yachts and said the workers mixed up a batch in summer and couldnt pour it in the boat fast enough and it went off the size of a Volkswagen next to the boat, lol. The outside temperature is a big factor in its expansion size.

Sorry it blew apart, foam has hydraulic pressure that is incredible. I learned the hard way too. You will need to build a temp frame and clamp it around the entire box.
Hey, What happened to the teeny tiny shop you had just moved into?
Another lesson I learned: Shallow pours are never a problem with "blowouts" but Deep foam pours always want to blow out sideways. The foam at the top is curing and is being pushed from the bottom, as the foam sets up at the top it can only go sideways IF IT IS NOT BRACED TO ABOVE THE HYDRAULIC LOAD CAPACITY OF THE FOAM.
Shallow pours solves this issue. Hoping my BLOWOUTS help you....

Thanks. This video was made back in 2019 and it was my first go with foam. That was def a learning experience.
I moved to a shop in Boynton Beach.

I use polyester resin for that type of work.

Dangit man! Not to beat ya up, but that stuff is no joke I would've poured maybe 16oz total at a time. It expands like 14 times it's volume
