- Got a chance to fan the beginning of the PM Rush on the NEC at Newark Penn Station before my class, and was treated to nonstop NJT and Amtrak action. Nothing out of the ordinary but it was great to be back on the corridor again! Taken from around 1530 to 1645 on 9/27/23

I like how you overlayed the station sounds over your still photos at the end. Brings the stills to life. Clever idea.
Awesome footage! I'm not very familiar with the PL42AC locomotives (I havent been around any NJ Transit operations) but looks-wise to me they are a mixture of a P42 Genesis, F40PH, and Charger locomotive all mashed together into one. I will have to venture down and observe the Northeast Corridor myself someday! Thanks for posting this footage!
they've got the designer of the P42, prime mover of the F59PH (EMD's successor to the F40PH), and the unreliability of the Chargers, probably worse actually, so you're right.
Thank you Nathan for this awesome footage. Never saw Newark Penn before. Really retro vintage. Great skylights, curves, signals, and variety of trains. You did a fine job here. Because of your video, I plan on railfanning Newark Penn next year. I finally made it to Princeton Junction in August and spent 2 days filming my first highspeed trains. We don't have those in Ohio. Any suggestions for railfanning Newark Penn?
honestly it's not worth fanning Newark Penn, I just had some time in between classes. you're better off at other stations like jersey ave and princeton junction. they can't sound the horn under the roof of newark penn

The Last Clip, where #2167 passes Newark Non-stop to Philadelphia, was a brand new voice announcement from Victoria.
What a sad dilapidated station, needs a complete rebuild, must be over 100 years old disgusting.
it could use an overhaul yesterday but knowing the city of Newark it probably won't happen any time soon.
welcome to american passenger railway
it's horrible
Believe it or not, the station opened in 1935
