Daemon's answer to the "What do we do if we can't find him?" was "A son for a son" like the killers said
After the Blood and Cheese incident, rat catchers were banned in the Red Keep. That's why Arya had so many cats to catch when training with Syrio Forel, her dancing master.
That was the skull of Meraxes, the dragon ridden by the Conqueror's sister wife Rhaenys, who was killed in Dorne. Visenya rode Vhagar. Balerion's skull is in the Red Keep.
Rhaenys (with Aegon) is also the ancestor of all existing Targaryens in this timeline. Makes sense they had her skull enshrined somehow.
Not sure if that's been confirmed, but it's fairly safe to assume that it's indeed that of Meraxes.
I don't want to spoil anything but I feel like people in this particular comment will know what I mean.
If you are caught up with this show and you just watched this past episode. Think of how similar The story of Meraxes death is to the ending of that episode. Its nearly the exact same scenario at a different keep. Even certain names match......
The simplest way to break down Aegon is that he wants people to like him, he feels he’s never had that before in his life, not from his father or his mother or his grandpa

The dragon Rhaeneras son was riding was a hatchling of Rhaeneras dragon Syrax, not sure if the dragons care about each other or only their rider but if they do than thats 2 mothers mourning their dead son.
Syrax might be feeling double the pain, hers and Rhaeneras 😞
caraxes (daemons dragon) is actually said to have a crush on syrax (rhaenyras dragon)in the books, he coos at her all the time and syrax is the only one that isn’t mean to him🥹

I've been following many reaction channels for years. Especially for these shows. Y'all are in the top three channels that I'm excited to watch for this show. You're so damn entertaining! Also, I loved see Cregan Stark carrying Ice. It's good to see Ned's sword again.
The opening scene with Daemon and Rhaenys really hits hard after EP 4. This show is all about the choices we make and their consequences.. or the choices we DONT make...
Technically Alicent is single now, so she's not really breaking any vows with Cole. Cole is the one who is doubling down on his depravity because he is still a gold cloak.
With the whole Daemon and his instructions to Blood and Cheese, he told Cheese (the Rat catcher) to kill Aemond and describes Aemond and then Cheese asks Daemon what if they don’t find Aemond and Daemon looks up at him and gives him a smirk and then it cuts away, so it wasn’t a look of annoyance and a look that says, did you not hear the instructions I just gave you, you will kill Aemond, kind of look, it was a Daemon smirk which implies a not so pleasant plan b.
We don’t hear him say what plan b was but this is to not give a spoiler to the audience but later when Blood (the gold cloak) enters the room when Cheese has a knife to Helena, he said “A son for a son, he said” and so revealing to the audience what Daemon’s reply was to Cheese’s question about what they should do if they can’t find Aemond, so them killing Jaehaerys was plan b, they carried out Daemon’s orders albeit plan B not plan A because they didn’t find Aemond
And I didn't realize he told them no head, no gold when they asked until watching this reaction. But I did believe him when he told Rhaenyra he didn't say to kill a kid.
@@nancyscogin7549 I don’t think you can believe anything he says, he is playing and using everyone, he wants the two sides at war and killing each other, the more who die, the closer he gets to becoming the King, not to say that he won’t change his mind at some point, I get the feeling that the whole Harrenhal thing is basically his version of a Christmas Carol and he will have a change of heart at some point but at the moment he is still totally self serving and his actions are all about him being King, he is very much the narcissist as it currently stands
That’s not what it meant. Daemon never told him to kill the little boy. He said a son for a son, he never told him if Aemond is not there kill the kid. That’s completely false. Even show runners confirmed it.

Matthew Needham who plays Larys talked about the feet scene and he explained pretty good. Needham continued: "It's such a power move. It's a way of reasserting control, putting someone in a box. It's a display of dominance, really making someone feel as ashamed of that part of her body as he does of his. It's associating her feet with something traumatic, which is what he does."

Little sad they skiped most story between Jacaerys and Cregan Stark, thei went hunt together and became good friends and swore that first-borne son of Jacaerys will marry first born daughter of Cregan.
I wish they would have shown that, too.
Cregan might come back in the future and now maybe they can actually discuss what Cregan was eluding to at the wall.

@@mridulsharma768 Oh I know this show is about the Dance, but I'm so salty about the wolves in GOT that it was still salt in the wound to see them cut so much of the friendship being forged with Cregan. Honestly, sometimes I feel like this show moves way too fast. They do it much better than Dan and Dave did when they tried to move fast but sometimes a slow burn is satisfying, you know? Taking time to build the nuance and little details and character development...
To be fair Alicent isn’t THE queen and Aegon is the king so he definitely doesn’t need to call her your grace, whereas Rhaenyra is the queen to her son
As far as the rat catcher misinterpreting… he couldn’t find Aemond and was at the very least told a son for a son he could have took it upon himself to come back with the head of a son to still get the other half of the money
It is always proper to address a queen as "your grace" or a lord as "my lord", no matter who is speaking.
Remember that Aegon wasn’t trained by Viserys to take his place as Rhaenyra was. It’s no wonder he makes for an awful king.
When the Starks theme started playing at the beginning of the episode, it got me so emotional a little tear came out. When Winterfell appeared, I lost it completely.

Daemon is shit enough to topple anything bad the Greens have done. And Rhaenyra has been disregarding her responsibilities since day one, hiding in Dragonstone, abandoned Viserys who named her hair and screwing everyone in the process. She's a mess, so is Daemon. The realm has been good thanks to the Greens and Otto not Daemon or Rhaenyra.

They had one shot to make a kill, if Aemond wasnt in the castle (because how would they know if he was even there) they had to have a backup plan. Daemon never said "a son for a son" in the conversation we saw, so clearly he told them that after they asked if Aemond was not there.

Ser criston cole was basically aemond and aegon's father figure growing up. He trained them and was their body guard all their lives.
Helena was scared of the rats because the rat catcher was involved in murdering her son and she had a dragon dream about it and knew it was gonna happen she just didn't know when
agon spends more time on street and in brothel's then in castle ,so he prob does sympathises with them in his weird ass way

The only thing that throws me off is that Allicent's children all have white hair while Reyneras' children by some one not Targaryen all have black hair 🤔
As for Aegon,
This far I do not think its a rebellion thing. He is not exactly rebellious.
He looks more like a kid who did not really know his place in the world and had major insecurities.
He quite likely got really unbalanced by the entire situation of being a much younger brother to a powerful sister who never showed him any love. His father was likely too old and too far away to connect with him at any meaningful level. And from his point of view, he was just watching his much older sister being cool and being next to daddy king.
At the same time, he had very young mother telling him he should be king. When that translates going against his own father and sister.
What might have happened is that he did not feel at home with his family and he absolutely did not feel worthy of being king. Deep down he feels like big sister should be the next boss.
So...as a 2nd son (his point of view) he wanted to be cool with someone. Therefore he goes more towards common folk where he does not have all that intrigue.
Once he becomes king there is a shift. Because he likes it. He likes being cool.
And him wanting to say yes to everyone I think its just him wanting to be cool and loved.
Deep down he is not dumb. So he can see that his mother and father want to use him for their own family scheemes.
So he is just out there looking for love. Trying that the people will genuinely like him.
He is at the end more like Tommen in GoT than Joffrey. He is still just a big kid without a particularly strong personality. Where his brother has a much stronger personality. Aegon is just...whatever. Given the choice he always sounded honest not wanting power. He just wants to have fun, live his life, be cool. Of course, now things might change because the death of his own son might be too personal for him. We will see.

Rheanyras kid call her your grace because the king(ruler) is called your grace that’s why they call aegon your grace and that’s why everyone who called themself kings in GoT where addressed as your grace

The ending is a bit different than in the book. There is a second, younger son and she has to chose between the two of them. She chooses the younger to be killed but instead they kill the older one who we see die here. But it's an ok change because I'd rather them not show the fate of the son who lived.

I was waiting for this episode and it disappointed greatly. Flat, boring and the main parts - stupid. I don't now what's more unrealistic:
How the royal family lives with ZERO guards, no servants near by during civil war. Helena had to run through half the castle to find another person.
Or the way Helena reacted to her son getting his head hacked off. I thought they would torture her to make her comply; they just asked and she just answered which kid to kill. She didn't try screaming, begging, trying to stretch time in hopes of rescue or attacking them. That whole scene made no sense.
Also, it was too simple in how Daemon found 2 men willing to risk death by torture for some gold and who were willing to kill a child. Writers blew it.
Then go watch something else then 🙄.
