How do you keep the wrist from cupping at the top of the backswing? If I keep it free and supple, the weight of the clubhead will open my clubface -- cupping my wrists -- naturally. Then I need to rotate the forearms downward to close them on the downswing. Do you work on keeping the wrists from cupping at the top of the swing or just let them do what they want to do and fix it on the downswing.
Hey Steve, for years I've tried the flat left wrist, but always have ended up with a very closed club face at impact - makes sense since at address the back of left hand is not flat. What is the secret to flat back hand at impact?
Your videos just keep improving my game! thanks Steve.
Excellent topic! I love the comparisons of the extremes, especially that of Ben Hogan. Nicely done!
Thanks Dan!

Where does the forearm rotation happen?

Is your left wrist flat at the top of the back swing, hard to tell from the video? It appears to be cupped to some extent.
I advocate having a flat left wrist at the top. It would be easier to see from the DTL angle.
We all agree about the flat left wrist at impact, my question is when is the right wrist flat?
Precisely 24 inches past impact.
