You probably dont care but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
WP you neeeeeeed to finish this series!! I love how you tell the stories and it seems to me that you are by far the most knowledgeable of the GW universe outside of the writers themselves. Really interesting stuff!
I've been watching the series and finally had to leave a comment. Incredibly well done. Having never played gw1 I have a new appreciation and insight into gw2.
That was amazing. I always loved how twisted the whole flameseeker prophecies story is, but I also regretted that it was so complicated to comprehend in-game due to some flawed design choices in the actual story telling within the game. I'm not saying it's not there, but you do need either a lot of patience or to look it up on the Internet to really grasp it. Now, this video did an incredible job at making it easy to understand and compelling. Congratulations on that!
Man, I never get tired of hearing this stuff. I've played GW1 for years and every one of these lore episodes makes me feel like a wide-eyed newb. Bravo, WP. You're a master storyteller.
Very nice storytelling of the lore(played GW1 since the beginning). I wish to add some things: At the Thunderhead Keep, Vizier Khilbron appeared as a ghost and he did not actually saved the heroes, he just aided them "I grant you this boon and the aid of these undead servants". They weren't really usefull because when the waves of mursaat arrived they were to be killed almost instantaneously by their spectral agony.
This was amazing. I would watch an entire 2-3 hour movie of you narrating the guild wars lore. Please keep them coming. (: even as an avid (2005-2012) gw1 player I found this so informative and incredibly entertaining I can't wait to see more! And I intend to show this series to many many friends (:
This is great stuff. One of the reasons I stuck with WoW for so long was because of the stunningly rich lore behind the game. I remember spending hours just paging through wowwiki in order to understand what is going on, what transpired before the game, and even what we can expect to come. Thank you so much for the lore series you've made, and here's to hoping for more!
this video is 100% better than the last one. It is easier to follow, you don't halfway reveal something to first time listeners so it keeps the suspense building, and you added a lot of perspective to make it relatable. i'm sorry if I offended you in my comment on the last video, but it was meant as constructive criticism and you apparently took it seriously at least a little by how much of an improvement this video is. I hope you finish the lore series soon because it's all new to me. Great Job
i really hope someone shows arenanet these because your narration and the combined artists' work makes for a really wonderful combination it breaks down hundreds of years worth of lore into something that fans can easily understand
Just wanted to say thank you for putting these together. You obviously spent an enormous amount of time on them, and they're awesome, and SUPER helpful for someone like me that loves GW2 but never played the first.
Thank you for these! I played the entirety of GW1 but the friends I play GW2 with did not. Your series of videos has brought back happy memories for me and can allow them to know some of the lore behind the game. Thanks!
Brrrrrrooooooooo This art and structure of the vid is 100/100. Thank you for all your time and effort to all those involved. Hope all is well in your endeavors these days.
This and the rest of the videos are just pure art at work. I never played guild wars 1 so this is great and gets me up to speed. Thanks for all your hard work potatoes
Glad to see you have rose up to such popularity now Wooden. I remember still waiting on your EotN videos, while re watching your other campaign runs :) Thanks for the devotion and awesome content!
The narrative was absolutely excellent. Loved the story telling, clearly top notch work right there. I hope you get acknowledged for these videos, you obviously have a lot of talent, WP.
I'm so happy to see this is continuing. I don't really enjoy Guild Wars, so playing it just to get the story is very punishing, and as easy as you make it to just watch the whole story as you play it in your solo vid, it's still hours and hours long. These videos wrap everything up much nicer and cleaner, and especially faster.
Great video WP! Nothing could get me more pumped for the release! Have been looking all over for an in depth, easy to understand briefing of the Lore, and this is PERFECT! Can't wait to see the places you have been telling us about, in-game!
I originally subscribed to this channel for this lore series. SO glad to see it's back! This stuff is amazing and it really helps me get into Guild Wars! Keep up the good work!
Much thanks for this series of lore. Hope you find the time to finish them. Guild wars has great lore but sadly, not everyone is aware of that. Great that you're taking the effort to remember/inform all of us.
Just would like to say good job to Wooden Potatoes and to the artists ! That was amazing ! Thank you WP for reminding everybody of the Guild Wars story. You've been putting this beautiful game on the pedestal he deserved.
What you do with these catalogues of Tyrian history, not to mention your GW dailys and etc is incredible. I hope that Arena Net sees and acknowledges or rewards your efforts in some way because you deserve it. Perhaps you have a place among their staff in their world building department or at least in their live team to help keep the lore consistent because the things you bring to light (such as discrepancies and so forth) are mind boggling.
I got Guild Wars when it first released but actually never played it. This Video helps ALOT for Guild Wars 2. Truly my best TH-camr for GW2 info and stuff :) Keep it up!
I regret so much not having paid enough attention to the GW1 lore when I was playing it. It sound so awesome and detailed when WoodenPotatoes tells the story, I love it!
long wait, well worth it! special thanks to WP and artists who contributed to bring us this wonderful collaborative work of art. cant wait for the next one.
I have been anticipating this for so long! It was incredible! Now I have listened to this I want the next one to come! You deserve a lot more recognition for the effort you are putting into your videos!
I played through all of GW1, but watching this makes me realise just how much I've forgotten... and how great the story really was in the first game. Thanks WP... wow, you just keep getting better and better... ^_^
The Krait, introduced in the Guild Wars: Eye of the North game expansion, were quite different from the Krait found in Guild Wars 2, in that the Krait were avian creatures. The most powerful of them could actually fly, though at a low altitude. They could not swim. Or, at least, were never seen to do so. The Krait were powerful in magic, but relatively few in number, occupying lands dominated by the Quetzel and the Asura, with whom they constantly engaged in guerrilla warfare.
Thank you so much for all your hard work WP. You are the saviour for us all, who never played first Guild Wars, and wish to learn the history and lore behind it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching? You must be kidding, right? THANK YOU for the fabolous storytelling and update about GW, so i can enjoy the game even more :) Great work - keep it up.
This video series is amazing. I am sure it took a ton of work but if you ever put something together similar to this going through events that have happened in GW2 since, that would be awesome!
Please continue these, you are doing a great job in telling the story and as someone who hasn't played GW and is not intending to do that this really helps me understanding GW2. Tnx a lot :)
WP i love this series and im sure its alot of work. I don't consider myself a huge lore person but the way you tell the story is great and now i can't wait for GW2 even more to follow up on these stories.
i played the original and still found this video series worthwhile. put me right back in the highlights of the missions and got me more into gw2. good alternative to trying to play through the campaigns again. cuts out the hours of bs while you're lost in a zone trying to figure out how to get around the thing to get over to the place you can see but oh look 20 things, at least 6 of which are healers, hf gl. bonus points if you somehow got one of your henchmen stuck on something and lost them.
snuggled up with some popcorn and pressed play. The rest is history. Thank you so much for these!! You absolutely need to be referenced somewhere by ANet. Best GW fan for sure
There's two GW books so far - Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny. There's a third due in 2013. These explain how Dougal Keane ventures into the Ascalon Catacombs with his party to claim the Claw of Khan-Ur, which will hopefully bring peace between Charr and Human. And Edge of Destiny tells the story of how the brand of heroes Destiny's Edge form, and also explains their demise.
Amazing. Even after watching WP's stuff for over a year, he honestly still amazes me with how talented he is. Best TH-camr on the interwebz. I've said it many times before and I'm absolutely serious.
What can I say....the work from all involved in this video, pure brilliance. And you finished the Prophecies lore before GW2:s launch, many thanks for that. Arenanet should link to your lore videos.
I didn't know what these suspicius "lore videos" of yours were, until know, and damn are they good. The story is told much more epic by you than i have expierienced it in the game.
I had come back to GW1 for HoM reasons but had ascended my character long ago. Your video brought back alot of memories of the Crystal Desert, so much so, that I had to take my character back and redo the missions and fight my doppleganger once more (this time in HM). Thank you so much for this and other lore videos. Well done.
Awesome video man. Watching it made me remember all the time I spent watching your Prophecies LP and actually had me feeling nostalgic for Peter Redhill and Charlie the imp.
This is how your hard work pays off. This is a great video. I have played Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, and have absolutely loved both games but I never understood a lot of the lore. Thanks to your hard work WP I now have a grasp on it. Thank you very much. -a recent subscriber.
Thankyou WP. This series is why I have subscribed to your channel. These videos are very well done. I was unable to play a lot of GW1 and I am enjoying the history/lore lessons. Once again thankyou :)
This is amazing, the time you put into the lore's videos i personally think you deserve more views and likes for you're time doing all this and i definitely think Arenanet should post these video on there facebook pages or other social media sites.
OH GOD!!! I've waited for this forever. Thank you so much. This is perfect for us gw lore noobs. It's very entertaining. My only comment on the series tho is that video 3 was a bit difficult to follow compared to the first too. Looking forward to watching this.:D
Wow, WP! I have been watching GW2 Dailies but haven't seen one of your lore videos, until know. This is absolutely fantastic! If I had more than two thumbs I would put them all up! Keep up the good work. I am a big fan of yours :D
Sick work man! for me, this is like childhood memories, i still remember the day and how confused i was to face Rurik in the last battle.... *GOOSEBUMS*
Very well done, your voice is perfect for a narrative. I would love to see more of these also I would love to see your out look on the lore of the legendary weapons, such as the flame seekers prophecies shield, quip, bolt ect. Keep up the great work
Great videos! :) Even after having completed the entire Gw1 campaign on at least 5 characters i still learn new things i didn't know by watching your vids :D
Brilliant thank you for doing these lore videos. Having never played the original Guild Wars, or read the books, these videos are giving me an real insight to the epic story telling of Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2 will be epic and i cannot wait to get sucked into the story and the game. :)
Excellent work, incredible narrative, and impressive artwork! It's been months since the last chapter! I want more! :P Following your GW2 stuff too, definitely loving this game!
really liking this series, I did not play the first game and this is just what I need before gw2 release. so far I'm impressed by the depth of the story, sounds more like a well written fantasy novel than an mmo
Amazing entry to the Guild Wars Lore series. The art this time was stunning. (all of them have been good but this is really top notch). I wish they would come faster but at the end of it all quality takes time and I would rather wait than rush you =P
As someone who hasn't play the original game it's crazy how the content we play till this day weren't just made up by the devs on the fly, the "new" places were actually a part of a vast and complex lore, and the items we used actually had a history. Yep, there are a lot of great ironies like that hidden about. Abaddon, god of water, lost his power, but still orchestrated the sinking of Orr. Its like a massive middle finger from him to the other gods.
I'm Eli, one of the artists. What a journey that was. Hope you guys enjoy it. Great results from my two contemporaries.
love the art.
You probably dont care but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Camden Terrell Instablaster =)
Sooliiiid.
Amazing work as always, Pokemon Man
WP you neeeeeeed to finish this series!! I love how you tell the stories and it seems to me that you are by far the most knowledgeable of the GW universe outside of the writers themselves. Really interesting stuff!
You find a dead Charr in the realm of torment who talks about dying during the invasion at Orr. It happened!
I've been watching the series and finally had to leave a comment. Incredibly well done. Having never played gw1 I have a new appreciation and insight into gw2.
Haven't played Gw1, but I've missed alot of lore
Shame that you've never finished this series :(
Agreed, sad to see it say "Completed" when there was soo much more goodness planned originally . . . but hey, the stuff we got was still great.
@@lufenmartofilia5804 me too

Great video's man. Great. This is exactly what I needed to get into GW2 completely.
+VeggyZ No problem :D
This brought me back to gw1, I could remember the memories of the adventures. :D
This should be a book series. As an avid GW1 player, this is wonderful.
Even though I've completed that game multiple times, its lore makes so much more sense now to me. Great videos. Keep it up man.
One of the great mysteries to be answered in Gw2
This was amazing. I would watch an entire 2-3 hour movie of you narrating the guild wars lore. Please keep them coming. Thanks for finally getting another excellent lore series vid done! Great stuff.
Thanks for putting the time and effort in to make these videos, it is much appreciated
Best channel for Guild Wars content.Of all time. simply awesome
He would succeed in getting me to sleep with his voice and the awesome soft music in the background! great video, one of your best!
Thankyou WP. This series is why I have subscribed to your channel. These videos are very well done. I was unable to play a lot of GW1 and I am enjoying the history/lore lessons. Once again thankyou :)

Thank you so much for making these.
I love the music in this video. It brings back so many memories. It makes me want to play Guild Wars again.
A truly stunning piece of work, as always. Props to you WP, and the artists as well. :)
Wow, WP! I have been watching GW2 Dailies but haven't seen one of your lore videos, until know. This is absolutely fantastic! If I had more than two thumbs I would put them all up! Keep up the good work. I am a big fan of yours :D
My friends and I thank you greatly for these amazing videos! You are a true lore-master.
I was worried you gave up on this series, thank you so much for this!!!
Sick work man! for me, this is like childhood memories, i still remember the day and how confused i was to face Rurik in the last battle.... *GOOSEBUMS*
this is reaaaaally good, i love the artwork, it looks like a lot of effort was spent here and the lore is clear , great job!
Can't wait to see more. THANK you very much for these videos and I really hope you finish the series.
Twenty-Five minutes... it took me almost a month of game time to play out this story.
Well done, WP.
Very well done, your voice is perfect for a narrative. I would love to see more of these also I would love to see your out look on the lore of the legendary weapons, such as the flame seekers prophecies shield, quip, bolt ect. Keep up the great work
It's so awesome to watch! Amazing work WP & to the ones that helped you with the art :)
Great videos! :) Even after having completed the entire Gw1 campaign on at least 5 characters i still learn new things i didn't know by watching your vids :D
I didn't realise GW lore was so epic! Awesome work guys!
Brilliant thank you for doing these lore videos. Having never played the original Guild Wars, or read the books, these videos are giving me an real insight to the epic story telling of Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2 will be epic and i cannot wait to get sucked into the story and the game. :)
Thanks WP and crew! Best way to put my experience with these stories is mouth wide open clammy hands on the edge of my seat.
I already knew all of this better than real-world history, better than I know most of my family, but I still found this wildly entertaining. Good job.
Fantastic video man, very well put together and well done to the artists!
Excellent work, incredible narrative, and impressive artwork! It's been months since the last chapter! I want more! :P Following your GW2 stuff too, definitely loving this game!
I've been posting your videos as a guide to GW lore for my guild. Thank you much for these!
Great storytelling, great art, great video. Thanks for your commitment to the community WP!
wow im enjoying this story telling thing.. it made me understand the whole GW world lol!! please release the destroyer lore please!!
Destroyers are just constructs created to serve the Great Destroyer, who was a general of Primordus. That's pretty much it for lore.
really liking this series, I did not play the first game and this is just what I need before gw2 release. so far I'm impressed by the depth of the story, sounds more like a well written fantasy novel than an mmo
Amazing entry to the Guild Wars Lore series. The art this time was stunning. (all of them have been good but this is really top notch). I wish they would come faster but at the end of it all quality takes time and I would rather wait than rush you =P
That was amazing! The art was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to everyone involved in making this :D
These lore movies are just so nicely done, I find them brilliant and I love to see some more ;-), keep it up
Please continue this massive Story! Great work so far
Best one yet! Amazing artwork by everyone involved, very impressive!
great stuff bro. I love to rediscover the rich and awesome story and lore guildwars had to offer
As someone who hasn't play the original game it's crazy how the content we play till this day weren't just made up by the devs on the fly, the "new" places were actually a part of a vast and complex lore, and the items we used actually had a history. It's a shame that the gameplay wasn't more lore focused.
Finally, was really interested in revisiting this particular bit of lore especially!
This series is awesome. My girlfriend is interested in GW2, but never played the GW1 games. Please finish this series so I can get her caught up! :) Great job!
So glad to see this. I always thought the Prophecies campaign had no conhesive story at all until I finally finished it. Then I was like OH WOW IT ALL WENT TOGETHER AFTER ALL
please please continue the series!
I've been waiting for it a long time!
fantastic pictures. Soo much memories of these missions!
Yep, there are a lot of great ironies like that hidden about. Abaddon, god of water, lost his power, but still orchestrated the sinking of Orr. Its like a massive middle finger from him to the other gods.
I played this whole story but still this storytelling just grasps me... Great job! :D
