That is 100% the barnacle set. Don't tell me there's a fastest way to grind it than doing fleets and shipwrecks, please dont. It's been a month since I've been grinding it, I even got a tattoo of the barnacle chest.... The second this goes live, I'm watching it. Edit: Good, I'm not going crazy, it's just the same method as always. If you guys want some advice, it's just easier to server hop for fleets and completing them. They give between 3 and 7 Barnacle Chests (of course not counting the captain skeleton ones). Much easier and faster. This is an advice from someone that went so crazy with this that I got a tattoo of it on my arm.
Got the commendation like a week ago, and yes you sort of get it while playing the game. But when you are close you may as well grind that last of em, for me that was like 60 odd chests. I personally think skelly fleets were the easiest as sometimes you can pick up around 10 in one fleet if you are lucky.
Skelly fleet is such an underrated world event. All the event rankings ive seen have it at like 3rd or 4th. In my opinion its 2nd only to the fof. Even sometimes for me id put it first. Since it doesnt attract players. It gives way too much loot. It only takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
@@Treezer575 it does attract players when you're on doing it solo and it's the last day for a emissary ledger though.. Had fleets been interrupted so many times when I've been trying to top up my ledgers >.
I love the wailing barnacle set. Looks like weathered wreck. But I've been trying to get the Frostbite set. But those humble/generous gifts are harder to get than the barnacled if you're solo.

Here is a more brief guide from a player with every commendation in the game: - Get a galleon crew together. - Get a skeleton fleet. - Loot is optional and if you need gold, raise Reaper emissary. Skeleton fleets are not bad gold income, but if gold is the least of your concerns, only grab the cursed chests and the shipwrecked chests. Doing this will get you way above what Falcore says to aim for. 300 is not that daunting.

i regularly rock the blue wailing barnacle set and occasionally i’ll get comments about it. it’s a great ship set and definitely one of the more unique ones out there
i figured out how to dupe any piece of loot that's on a skelly ship infinitely, so if you get a ship with 3 barnacles and do the dupe you can spawn 3 barnacle chests over and over again. Sadly didn't figure out a consistant setup for and i am way to lazy to try and find one.
I wanted something unique. I picked a hull scheme with lots of deep purples in it. I picked, I think it was the "freedom" sails from the Jack Sparrow stuff. Made it all dark and creepy looking. Then me an the boyz started hitting it with fire bombs and damaging the crap out of it. It is my Captains Galleon so I can "keep" the damage. Then I scored the best name ever. You see no one can get a plain old "Flying Dutchman" without being stuck with a bunch of numbers on it. YUCK But translate it into Dutch? Yeah Baby the "Fliegen de Hollander" is on the seas. Our first trip out we hit the Fort of the Damned. And just mucked with it while our ship just drifted off shore in that gawdawful fog. The ambushes were a LOT of fun. Ship looks like it just came up from Hell Itself in that fog.
have 300h in the game and sitting on half of the achievement. And different to other players I'm actually aware of the commendation and trying to get it.. Maybe this method will help me. But for anyone hwo is really new: it will take you about 80 hours to get it so have some fun instead
considering you get like 15+ skeleton captain chests from one fleet, I think it would make the commendation too easy.. Though on that account, I had it completed before there was any real rewards for it xD

I have the 2 barnacle sets that are still in the game, but I don’t use them. My ship is sailing under the unicorn sail, which you get for selling 50 ghost captain skulls. The rest is the ghost set from Athena’s fortune
Im using the legendary set that you got for being pirate legend early =D at least nowadays people can't get hold of that any longer. No trick in the world can add that to peoples inv because I was among the 100 first to get pirate legend ^^
i do rock the barnacled ship set but there is noo real good locking pirate cosmetics fitting the theme. there is really a lack of good locking moldy outfits
Ive got the shipreck reaper sails wich imo are best looking sails in game an are allso quite rare but they only go up when i play solo since my tryhard friends refuses anything other then the dark adventurer sails.
I too own these. Bristle looks good running athena. Best way to do this com is ship fleets. They alone can drop 10 - 20. Run a brig crew for best results. Also.. turn into gold hoarders directly. Good luck. By far my favorite set

The first time I equipped my Silent Barnacle set, I got boarded and called a noob. It was the 1st time someone called me a noob in SoT. 10/10 would equip again.
My ship looks very unique I use the royal revenge figurehead (the non collectors one), the grand admiral hull, the reapers mark sails, the sovereign wheel, the golden barnacle cannons, the orange cannon flare, the sovereign capstan and the classic Jolly Roger flag
Wife and I just finished our 5th go around with the Gold Hoarder and now have the gold curse and, more importantly, the gold hoarder figurehead. Managed to get the timing down to 45 minutes on the last run lol. During the tall tales i got the 300 shipwreck chest commendation. You just get it out of natural progression
I actually got this commendation done a few weeks or maybe a couple months before the Bristling Barnacle Set was added. I don’t really use it that much because I don’t have a captained ship title that really goes well with it rn. But I did use it quite a bit and I love it.
My regular non arena Sea Dog set was cool, I like it, and I have the Hunter set, as well as the full Wild Rose set. I move between all of them, I like them all equally.

I literally unlocked this commendation today, i had 9 million gold.
Now i have 100k

Corny it's way easier than that,,, just sink everybody,,, got mine quick taking from others
The best way is definitely Skeleton Fleets even though the Skeleton Captain Chests Don’t count you still get a lot, and they’re quick
Utter rubbish, shipwreck chests r easy, very shipwreck or Skelton ship will have them and also random spawns on the shores of an island
If you want a turning eyes ship, just bought an emporium ship, nobody go and buy those so everyone I encounter ask me where I got my ship
I have all of barnical stuff. I use the big silent sword. All the time. And use parts of the ships on my galleon
Rather stay with Goodboy, Charity sails, silver Blade, and golden Sailor Cannons..
So sad they didnt make it more barny chests than silent barny. Really enjoyed grinding for silent and miss having a reason to hunt stuff in game.

The ship I have I never see on the seas... and everyone asks me where I got it... it's the State Of Decay 2 Cross over ship...
For a game that almost primarily centers around cosmetics, they're really lacking the cosmetic department.
I would recommend server hoping till you find a skele fleet
I have EVERY nightshine parrot item so i use all of that for my pirate and ship (except the pegleg lo)

a reward for the highest tier patroens could be the get to run around in the backround while your making a video
there should ba a barnacled athena chest. Maybe on a shipwreck rare spawn that is reaaaaaallly deep when you come across it.
Im not sure why but it bothers me immensely that i have SOME og barnacle cosmetics but not the whole set

As of season 11, the best way is to use diving to change servers to do fleets. It is sooo much faster than what tgis video recommends

This was the first commendation (after some fish-commendations) that I really grind, because I love the barnacle Stuff

Skeleton Captain's Chest from Skelly ships do not count towards the barnacle...if they have not updated that in recent time.
