Thank you Paige I am a 62 year old just taken up golf. I couldn't hit well at all and I had many lessons. I watched your video and now I can hit the ball like a professional. Thank you great instruction

This information for beginners is gold. And for average golfers like myself, reassurance that I'm keeping on track with my golf swing. Training your body into a right way repetitive swing takes time and practice practice practice. I'm getting there. What a beautiful swing you have. It looks so uncontrolled and natural. Wow. Thanks so much for reassurance. Loved it.

I'm a brand new golfer at 63 years old. My husband is a life long golfer who hasn't played in 30 years. Now that we are retired we are both taking it up. We went to the driving range yesterday so I could try out my new clubs and had a great time. He was telling me the same things you are saying but you gave me some great tips about lining up correctly and using sticks. I'm going to try that because I was having difficulty seeing how I was lined up. Thanks and I'll be watching more of your videos.

That point about flipping the club around and listening at what point in the swing you hear the whoosh is great tip! 👍

One of the most ineloquent but most intelligent videos of a golf swing I’ve seen. (By ineloquent, I mean simple and easy for us average golfers to understand. Layman’s terms). Too many videos are complex and difficult to put into practice. This video gives us some good tools. This is what I’ve been trying to do for the past year to improve my iron game. What a big help to have this drill broken down like that. Makes it much simpler when explained like this than someone getting too technical. Thanks, Paige!

Paige, thank you. I've been playing golf for about 4 years and always struggled to break the 100 barrier (average WAS 105 a round). After following your channel, and watching your golfing tips, I've managed to drop 10 strokes from my game. I look forward to your videos, and look forward to trying the interlocking grip (I am a 10 finger grip man) next time I'm on the range.

  • @alansmith3378

On the grip, I like the slight adaptation that Tom Watson made to the over lapping grip, Put your little finger of your right hand over your index fingre of your left hand. Gives you more sensitivity.

Wow, really impressed by this video! There are a ton of "golf babes" on TH-cam and insta that are honestly just out there for the attention of wearing their little skirt and low cut top and guys watch it... well not for the golf. I kind of clicked on this video thinking it was going to be a girl making a fool of herself for some attention from the "men of culture" of the internet. I almost expected it to be satirical (especially from the "Being Basic with Paige" name). But oh was I wrong! This is actually one of the best, if not THE best swinging tutorial I have seen yet, and that includes the professionally produced PGA-certified instructors out there. Really well done. Today I learned not to judge a book by its cover. I also learned about the timing of that "whoosh" sound, and am going to try that drill tomorrow!

He said it felt better that way to home. Lol. I didn't want to harp on him too much and make him not want to play anymore. He did get lucky and hit some good shots that way. At least maybe he'll go back with me soon and I can try again. LOL

Good information from Paige, especially about how to set up. But sometimes professional players like her take important things for granted that pro teachers don't when teaching newbies. My golf teacher always stressed three things after setup: drag the club when taking it back; take the club back slow; and, keep your eye on the ball until after impact, which is the toughest of the three to do. He said it is so easy for beginners to pull their head. When they watch the pros, most newbies don't realize that the pros only pull their head after impact. And he said on the driving range, beginners want to see where the ball is going, which results in a bad habit right off the bat. He said if you can bring a friend or relative to the range when you start, then he or she can watch where the ball is going for you to help you keep your head down. And finally, he said exaggerating keeping your head down when you start out is not a bad idea. Once you get these things down, then you can modify them to meet your physical makeup.

That dragging the club back is a hundred years out of date.No modern pro does that.

So coach Paige, I was hoping for a one on one lesson next time your at Myrtle Beach! But the fact that you have 56542 views makes me realize that that's not possible. Thanks for the grip explanation!

@@valenciaandrew3355 Having heard from you, Valencia... I've moved immediately out of the rough into the fairway. Actually, I'm a bachelor and all of my family lives in other states. Shall we get some coffee and chat...?

Your video helped quite a bit. I was placing the ball centered in my stance. You suggested placing the ball forward of center....that instantly gave me better elevation on my shot. You also revealed that the wrist can break early in the backswing. Prior to you video I was unsure about when to allow wrist break during the backswing. Thanks!
