    Hi and hugs Gayle. It’s 2am here in Sydney Australia and I was binge watching your older videos because I couldn’t sleep. I was so happy your scrappy Saturday video popped up. I am a quilter so I love it when you work with fabric.

      Yes Stacey, I try to always overlook the big folds and creases in the fabric. I would be ironing for sure. I always have my small iron by the machine. But, whatever helps people have fun and brings joy is more important. It wouldn't work for a quilt, though. At least not for me. LoL.

      @@catherinelittle2118 yes, I have small iron and woollen ironing pad. You are right though, whatever works for the person doing all the work. Still, the work is beautiful.

    Some of my most favorite videos that you’ve done are your collage videos. They are so peaceful to watch. Maybe because you create order out of chaos or develop patterns within all the colored prints and shapes. Your covers are amazing. I can’t wait to see them after you finish them. I know you will have a great time. 🤗

    I'm back! After watching the above video, along the right side of the screen I noticed another video where you were making covers. It was March 31, 2018. I watched it also. Both were very inspirational! Now I'm wondering something. I have in mind a cover to make for a journal that I am planning. I was thinking I would use an Amazon bubble envelope since I'd seen you do that in a video. Now I'm wondering for a sort of beginner, if it would be best to use a bubble envelope or the manila envelope. Which would you recommend that would be a better choice for me to do. I think I could do either if I keep your video close by so I can reference them as I go. Thank you, Gayle.

    • @gayleagostinelli_ct
      @gayleagostinelli_ct  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you could do either, Janice. The process is exactly the same, so it comes down to what feel you’d like for your cover. The Amazon envelopes make a puffier cover with more crackle. You’ve totally got this, my friend! ❤️

    • @janicestouffer6699
      @janicestouffer6699 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gayleagostinelli_ct Thank you. The crackle of the Amazon envelope is what drew me to that idea for it to be my choice. I think I have enough material for the cover and inside that if I goof up one, I can try the other! Thank you for the encouragement!

  • @laneyno8
    @laneyno8 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am very confused. I have no idea what you are going to do now. After the placement of all of these beautiful fabric pieces, do you hand stitch? Machine sew? Hand stitch the top, then machine sew a piece on the back for a liner? I’m sorry. I’m new to this and I want to make a journal cover like this, but since I’m not a sewer I don’t know what to do next.

    • @gayleagostinelli_ct
      @gayleagostinelli_ct  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I will hand stitch. As it was explained to me, slow stitch is embroidery without a hoop. If you search Gayle Agostinelli Slow Stitch, some videos should come up that will help you see the process more fully. Hope that helps! ❤️

    Watched your combo video with Barbara and Joie yesterday. I bet that was fun. Good questions, great answers. I found out I’m not the only one that feels OCD about including 3 and 5 elements on my spreads! I subscribed and listen to all 3 of your channels regularly. It was a treat to hear you together. Barbara also had a fun gelli printing session with Luise Heinzl recently. We live in such amazing times. People in Austria, England, and the US all able to get together, create a video, share ideas and solutions all in real time. The future they told us about when I was a kid has arrived.
