I mean he's not really random, but I have to go with Adrian Peterson. As a non Vikings fan I have always loved watching him play. I thought it was cool he played one season late in his career with Detroit.
Maybe a series idea here? Start in Madden 01 and rebuild the worst team until you win a Super Bowl. Once you win a ring, you get to move on to the next Madden. Could be a fun way to revist past superstars and explore old franchise mechanics. Would also give you at least 23 videos. Idk, could be fun to see a series that includes legends.
Longform Hurriicane videos about the Vikings are basically the "Dudes can literally just sit around and name random footballers and just have the best time" meme.
i wish these videos were out more often. sitting around with the boys talking about old football is the best. i got a few buddies that are older than me that i love talking with about old ball, all with different favorite teams. love talking old Bears and Raiders.
This has been a phenomenal video so far. Not only is it cool to see whole drives on these older games the video is much more then that. This is a snapshot history of both the Vikings throughout the years and your fandom. Always a treat when you upload and that’s even more true here seeing such a great football mind talk about the game. Great video cane
As a Bolts fan in 2008, I could've done without the Marlon McCree jumpscare at 30:52. Woof. Aside from that, though, this was a fun trip down memory lane! Madden '02 was my first of the series, so that one had me feeling all nostalgic; I'd almost forgotten the "Go-To Guy" setting but now I kind of want to see it make a comeback for the modern games, especially in slow sim where you might want to feed one particular player. Loving the experimental videos on this channel. Keep 'em coming.
I think this is where you shine! I remember when I first started watching you on Madden 11 and being so impressed that you knew a fifth round rookies first and last name LOL. Great video!
I do love how Cane just got to be a fan and nerd out for a video (and of course I watched all of it) I know it’s not random but Corddy P has always been my favorite
As a fellow Viking fan since the early 90's (as young as I can remember) - I appreciate this video. A video suggestion, maybe just a one off, not a full series, for next year's Madden. "What-if Vikings". Whatever the Vikes decide to do with Darnold/McCarthy, do the opposite.
Literally the Madden that made me more than just a casual NFL fan lol, I played that madden for 4 years because I thought it was better than the other releases after
I became a Giants fan in a similar way. my first madden was madden 05 and just so happened to play with them against the ravens and the rest was history
Not only am I getting secondhand nostalgia watching this, but remembering players and games that had nothing to do with the Vikings, as in seeing Mike Brown pick off Culpepper immediately--and I mean like muscle memory--took me back to him capping off a game in which my Browns blew a 14-point lead in the last minute with a pick-six in overtime. The Browns were 4-2 going in, and ended up 7-9. In other words, this video inadvertently reminds me how much being a Browns fan is just a never ending series of kicks to the balls. Thanks a lot for that.
Matt Kalil. I had an American Football coach in the UK who died tragically in 2012. He played OT for our team too. During a playoff game, Matt played the game with ‘RIP JAY’ written on his arm tape. Such a touching tribute and our guys never forgot it.
I really like the idea of more of these videos with different teams, I appreciate the history side of the video a lot too. Feels like I actually gained a decent amount of football knowledge from this video
I honestly love just hearing the history of your fandom year by year i thought it was really cool to hear. Hope ya win it this year love your coaching staff and Darnold killing is so fun to see. Favorite random Viking: Visanthe Shiancoe One more thing the last time Minnesota played Detroit at primerime was 2000 the Vikings won 24-17
Such a great video ! Fun seeing the old Maddens. Any thoughts on doing a short 1 or 2 ep franchise rebuild on one of the old maddens ? Maybe with historically bad teams of the time like the 07 Dolphins, 08 Lions, or maybe the Ryan Leaf Chargers..
i was always a matt asiata fan. and i’ll forget your hilarious comment about him. if you need 2 yards, he’ll get you 3. if you need 4 yards, he’ll get you 3.
27:00 Madden 07 was my first madden, loved playing it even a few years after it came out with my dad, i remember him always letting me compete before killing me with our Patriots.
idk how much time this took to make/if it'd be worth it, but this would be a really fun series, one touchdown every madden with all the teams, it's a nice history lesson too
Love the video! Especially the history lesson of the Vikings. Too hard for me to pick a favorite Viking, but its between Kyle Rudolph, Harrison Smith, and Teddy Bridgewater. Also shout out Mortiz Böhringer, really wanted him to turn into a good nfl player
Idk how many others will name him or how well known he is these days, but my favorite Vikings Player would prolly be Alan Page. Dude won an NFL MVP as a DT! That's incredible. He went on to serve in the Minnesota State Supreme Court too, which is cool, but for a player to win MVP as a defensive tackle is always one of the coolest things to me, and I'm not sure we'll ever see it again in the league of the QB/Offensive skill players. 6 All-NFL selections, played 238 straight games in an absolutely nasty era to play in the trenches, 9 straight pro bowls when that was an honor that mattered, and had 173 sacks. Class of 1988, first ballot HOFer. The absolute greatest and doesn't get talked about enough today.
Also, his most famous quote goes hard as hell: "I’ve got a job to do and my job is not to sit back and wait and react to what the offense does. My job is to go after them. This has been my philosophy. A defensive player should think of himself as an aggressor, not as a defender.”
Love the video! As a ravens fan that 2013 game was the one of the craziest games ever to watch. My favorite random Viking would be Brian Robison because I loved watching 96 questions.
I do have a random Viking shout out: Madden 18 RB Jerick McKinnon. Speed and Elusiveness aren't really special. But his passing skills make him a good 3rd down back. Also...his Injury, Stamina, and Toughness skills are all very high. He can take a beating and survive a whole season with any West Coast or even Power Run offenses. He's got just enough of everything to make a good backup for anyone. He's not my starter, but he's the guy I don't have worry about.
This was so cool! Think you could do it for other teams, or do you think your personal connection to the Vikings is what makes it possible? Btw I’m a Colts fan if you’d like to do them!
I bought madden 2010 on ps3 during the summer for $2 at a thift store and did a Vikings rebuild. The first season I got a QB in the draft then won multiple superbowls. Honestly I have more fun with these old Madden then the new ones.
I know you might not have the passion to do it because your a Viking fan and that’s understandable (as in might only be passionate about your team you pull for) but I would like to see this kind of video for all the teams through the years I like the history stuff like who got drafted who played and where they are now again you could record the audio and commentary after with facts and information doesn’t have to be full detail but as they make big plays and stuff just like this video with other teams I like this content with the history stuff
26:00 "I cannot wait for Solider Field to get demolished one day." Caleb Williams proceeds to win back-to-back Super Bowls for Chicago, generating the public goodwill needed for the McCaskeys to finally get their Arlington Heights stadium proposal built. You asked for the Monkey's Paw and I'll give ya the Monkey's Paw, Cane! (Is this paragraph unabashed wishful thinking? 1,000%. For the time being, this Bears fan can confirm: nothing good happens at Soldier Field.) I've seen this touchdown-in-every-Madden format make the rounds every now and again, and I've always felt it could make for a really fun history lesson (or at least a novel trip down memory lane) if done more in-depth than it usually is. I'm about a third of the way through right now, and so far it's been really cool to see an iteration that DOESN'T just devolve into "Touchdown by, uh, whoever Burleson is, I guess!" - looking forward to the rest!
The 2010 trade to bring back moss happened the same day as the first playoff game at target field. We had tickets and drove the six hours from nw Minnesota and had the fan radio on the whole drive. You’d think moss returning was the second coming of Christ the way they talked the whole day. I told my friends, “I give it a month, he’s going to do something stupid, and they’ll let him go.” I was right lol
I would love a third 5 year rebuild in Madden 20, let's see if you can bring Arsenio Jennings to your third team as well! Lol Edit: my favorite random Viking was Moritz Böhringer, sad to see it didn't work out for him
This was a fun one to put together! Give me your favorite random Viking here in the comments.
Kyle Sloter
I mean he's not really random, but I have to go with Adrian Peterson. As a non Vikings fan I have always loved watching him play. I thought it was cool he played one season late in his career with Detroit.
Jermaine Wiggins
My eagles blowing you guys out in the NFC title game in 2017 lol
Bobby Wade

Love this idea!!
I love this idea. I'm 100% for it.
This would be awesome to watch
This is one of the GOAT ideas by any Cane commenter ever.

Stu Voight.
i wish these videos were out more often. sitting around with the boys talking about old football is the best. i got a few buddies that are older than me that i love talking with about old ball, all with different favorite teams. love talking old Bears and Raiders.

Thank you! The video became much more of a history lesson than I expected but I like it that way
@ really enjoyed that aspect. Happy new year excited to see what content you have up and coming
As a Bolts fan in 2008, I could've done without the Marlon McCree jumpscare at 30:52. Woof.

Awesome video Cane, my dad’s a Vikings fan so it was cool re-visiting all the ups and downs throughout the years.
I think this is where you shine! I remember when I first started watching you on Madden 11 and being so impressed that you knew a fifth round rookies first and last name LOL. Great video!

If you slowly did this with every team i think it could be a successful series, i like the history of the team being involved.
That would be perfect for the offseason
That roof on Lambeau talk was PREPOSTEROUS 😂
The amount of former/future Seahawks in this video is incredible
The coordinators talking to you pre play in Madden 11 was pretty decent thought I liked back then
The wave of nostalgia when Madden 12 popped up
Literally the Madden that made me more than just a casual NFL fan lol, I played that madden for 4 years because I thought it was better than the other releases after
I became a Giants fan in a similar way. my first madden was madden 05 and just so happened to play with them against the ravens and the rest was history

*I ACTUALLY REMEMBER WATCHING THAT!!!*
The synergy between the Kalispell and Broncos dynasty was unmatched, would love to see that come back now the College Football is back
Love these fun side ideas. Great stuff Cane
I am a Saints fan. I remember that playoff game in the Metrodome. I remember the Viking receivers signaling every first down. It was agony.
Matt Kalil.
I had an American Football coach in the UK who died tragically in 2012. He played OT for our team too.
During a playoff game, Matt played the game with ‘RIP JAY’ written on his arm tape. Such a touching tribute and our guys never forgot it.
It’s crazy to see the older maddens we so much then what we have now
I really like the idea of more of these videos with different teams, I appreciate the history side of the video a lot too. Feels like I actually gained a decent amount of football knowledge from this video
As a Falcons fan, That walk-off run from Vick in 02 is still one of my all time favorite Falcons moments
I honestly love just hearing the history of your fandom year by year i thought it was really cool to hear. Hope ya win it this year love your coaching staff and Darnold killing is so fun to see.

Keep up the good work Hurricane excited for the next episode of the jags franchise 👌🏽🔥
Ahhhh the nostalgia of the 00's Maddens! Love it!

idk how much time this took to make/if it'd be worth it, but this would be a really fun series, one touchdown every madden with all the teams, it's a nice history lesson too
As a Packer fan, I really enjoyed all the issues you had trying to score. Seriously though Cane, great video as always. Keep it up.
"I was so used to Randy Moss, I thought they'd just go find the next one" Bro, that is exactly how I feel about the Pats and Tom Brady lol
Casually dropping some fire at 345pm?
Update, this is the coolest idea ever.
Steelers fan, BUT have oddly enjoyed a few Vikings over the years! Peterson/Harrison Smith are two I always loved
vikings franchise legend tyrell johnson with the pick six is beautiful
Love the video! Especially the history lesson of the Vikings. Too hard for me to pick a favorite Viking, but its between Kyle Rudolph, Harrison Smith, and Teddy Bridgewater. Also shout out Mortiz Böhringer, really wanted him to turn into a good nfl player

1:02:20 oh how fitting. Excuse me and my disaster team I can’t wait to do this in 10 years
THATS DAN CAMPBELL
*boss music starts*
Love the video! As a ravens fan that 2013 game was the one of the craziest games ever to watch. My favorite random Viking would be Brian Robison because I loved watching 96 questions.
I love the video cane. Skol vikings. Love to see more viking videos. Maybe a video on how the vikings played this year? Skol
Great video, thank you for all the facts. I was in basic training when the metrodome collapsed.
love this, a feel good video just feels different
Having a blast watching! Thanks!
Listening to Jermiane Wiggins on boston radio every morning is something else
Love this…hope you do every team love to see my dirty birds get some love
I do have a random Viking shout out: Madden 18 RB Jerick McKinnon. Speed and Elusiveness aren't really special. But his passing skills make him a good 3rd down back. Cool video! I would love some sort of retro Madden series. Anything before the XBOne/PS4 generation
This was a pretty awesome history lesson, you should consider doing this for other teams
Cane this was a really, really dope idea! Would you be open to the idea of doing a similar kind of video for a few MLB The Show games?
The starting lineup for those 2003 Cardinals that broke Minnesota's heart:
QB: Josh McCown
WR: Anquan Boldin
RB: Emmitt Smith
03 was my first ☝🏾 wish they got back to the basics and bring in some competition
Best of luck to you Sunday and may the best team win
Sincerely
A Lions fan
19:15 Jatavion sanders hurdled this season to your point
This was so cool! Think you could do it for other teams, or do you think your personal connection to the Vikings is what makes it possible? Btw I’m a Colts fan if you’d like to do them!
19:07 love Wiggy, listen to him often as he does Boston sports radio
I don't remember ever seeing that many fumbles happen in the older maddens like I did here. Some sort of weird Vikings butter glove action going on.
Petition for a Minnesota Twins Franchise rebuild in MLB The Show 25. 🔥
I bought madden 2010 on ps3 during the summer for $2 at a thift store and did a Vikings rebuild. The first season I got a QB in the draft then won multiple superbowls. Honestly I have more fun with these old Madden then the new ones.
23:50 I think Madden was a lot more optimistic about Grossman's QB ability with that large cone of vision
Listening to Cane be a Vikings history nerd is making me feel some kinda way 🥰
Cane's not wrong about the Vikings struggling against the Bears in Chicago. From '01-14 they were a mind-blowing 1-13 there 😳
I never write a comment but this video was so cool that I had to say it. Please do more videos like this!
I loved Mewelde Moore too… as a Steeler. He’s my go to RB when I see those name a random RB posts.
Cane this video was awesome man!
I was at the 08 playoff game against the Eagles too! Too bad we came up short in that one.
This video idea has great potential for you to do it with different teams or even players themselves
Yes I love to see this video from you!
The way Cane says he felt about the '21 Vikings is the same way I feel about my team now. I just want to get rid of everybody and start over.
Madden 2002 was my first madden. 06 was my favourite. I’ve been subbed to cane since madden 11 and the legend of AL CUNNINGHAM
My favorite viking was Case Keenum that season felt magical
Being reminded of the Tice era makes me hurt
As a vikes fan from UK love this
I know you might not have the passion to do it because your a Viking fan and that’s understandable (as in might only be passionate about your team you pull for) but I would like to see this kind of video for all the teams through the years I like the history stuff like who got drafted who played and where they are now again you could record the audio and commentary after with facts and information doesn’t have to be full detail but as they make big plays and stuff just like this video with other teams I like this content with the history stuff

Older maddens are just a million times better then current ones😢😢😢
This was like a walk down memory lane as a 25 year old Vikings fan haha
the gameplay in the very beginning explains the int's nowadays expertly.
Still am very hurt you beat my saints still watch your channel everyday since I was in high school whodat nation
Don’t know why but when I think of the Vikings Chad Greenway always pops into my head patrolling the middle of the defense!
19:35 Wiggins is on my local sports radio
51:03 Of course, everyone remembers the Monolith that nearly ended the world in 2012!
Kinda bothers me that those middle era PS4 Madden's had a better overall art direction than Madden currently has on PS5.
Fight for the fumble was the answer to the still unsolved problem of players not picking up fumbles.
I’m not a Vikings fan but Harrison Smith was always one of my favorite players in the whole league, so I’d have to choose him
That Vikings horn sounds like the one they used at the Wall for Game of Thrones lmfao
"Salary Cap: $62.5 million"
Patrick Mahomes: o.O
Here before this blows up.

great video good luck sunday go lions!
Heartbreak after heartbreak.... and its all up to former Jet QB Sam Darnold now
33:53 bruh 😂😂😂😂😂 mans literally said here I don’t want it
I would love a third 5 year rebuild in Madden 20, let's see if you can bring Arsenio Jennings to your third team as well! Lol
Edit: my favorite random Viking was Moritz Böhringer, sad to see it didn't work out for him
Brad Johnson is my fav Viking, I’m a Bucs fan
Ahhh Madden 17 how I love you
Randy Moss..He is the reason purple is my favorite color..
A feature film length vid sign me up🙏🏻
Not to make you feel old but your first madden is 4 years before i was born
