  • Weighing scale calibration - How to calibrate weighing instruments: hubs.ly/Q01jclrv0
In this video we show you how to make a professional calibration of weighing scales.
This video is based on the blog article and related white paper on weighing scale calibration.
Weighing scales are widely used in process industry. And as all measurement devices, also weighing scales need to be calibrated regularly, to maintain sufficient accuracy and traceability.
There are different regulations for the weighing instrument calibration, such as EURAMET Calibration Guide, NIST Handbook 44 and OIML standards.
In this video we will go though the different tests that needs to be done when calibration weighing instruments. These include following test:
Eccentricity test - this is to test if the scale gives the same measurement results when the weight is placed on different locations on the weighing pan.
Repeatability test - this is to test that the scale gives the same reading when the same weight is being measured several times.
Weighing test - this is to calibrate the whole measurement range of the weighing scale, in several calibration points.
Minimum weight test - this is to find out the smallest load that can be measured accurately. The US Pharmacopeia (Chapter 41) and the EURAMET Calibration Guide 18 (Appendix G) suggest a little different approach for this test.
For more details, please read the blog article and white paper.
The mobile application used in this video is the Beamex bMobile application. Also, the Beamex CMX calibration software is being used with it. For more details please visit the relevant product pages:

Good job folks...What would recommend for the % of weight from maximum capacity would you suggest for repeatability?

Hi! For example the EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 18 says that (quote) "... the test is performed with at least one test load which should be selected in a reasonable relation to Max and resolution of the instrument... ". So there is no any strict rule. In some cases the weight is close to the max of the instrument, but it can be also on any important part of the range. Please read some more in the article here: blog.beamex.com/weighing-scale-calibration-how-to-calibrate-weighing-instruments
For many other instrument types, the hysteresis is commonly tested in the middle of the range.
      Thanks,

Sir Which software are you using for note observed value..
Please tell is it free or paid..

Hi Annil, that software in the pad is Beamex bMobile calibration application. That application is available for Android (Play store) and for Windows (from Beamex web site).
The bMobile application itself is free of charge, but you need to use it with the Beamex CMX calibration management software that is not free.
Please check Beamex.com web site for more information.
      Thanks, Beamex / Heikki

      Hi Alexander, thanks for comments.
The person/company doing the scale calibration is an accredited weighing scale calibration company and they are doing the calibration according to the approved international standards.
Yes, gloves need to be used when handling weights.
I am not a specialist, but I have not seen the method to use aliminum foil in any weighing scale calibration standards.
      Thanks, Beamex / Heikki

You probably dont care at all but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost my login password. I love any assistance you can give me.

@Zaid Imran thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

How do I change it back to pounds?

    • @BeamexCalibration

It depends on the model of your scale. Please check the user manual to see how to change the unit.

    How about Uncertainty of measurement?

    • @BeamexCalibration
      @BeamexCalibration  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Dear Sir. Yes, good comment, naturally you need to calculate the uncertainty for the scale calibration, as for any calibration.
The referred blog post and the related white paper discuss that too.
You can find the blog article here: blog.beamex.com/weighing-scale-calibration-how-to-calibrate-weighing-instruments
