Founded in 1976 by iconic producer Mickie Most, RAK has long been at the forefront of the international music industry. Located in the heart of London, RAK has hosted sessions with countless household names, including David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Adele and Arctic Monkeys, to name but a few.
In this video, we visit RAK Studios just after its Studio 4 space has been fully renovated and fitted with a new Genelec The Ones immersive system. We catch up with Studio Manager Emma Townsend and Senior Engineer/Atmos Mixer Robbie Nelson to get their thoughts about completing the build, using the system, employing GLM and getting creative with immersive. Additionally, we hear from Level Acoustic Design Technical Manager, Matt Ward, who oversaw the acoustic design of RAK’s Studio 4 upgrade.
RAK Studios’ Genelec 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup is powered by nine 8361As, four 8351Bs, three W371As, two 7380As and GLM.
