SUGGESTIONS: You could add road markings, power lines, street lights, drain covers, litter, pooled water (puddles), and maybe make one of the buildings into a small business of some kind, like a cafe?
New York has underground power lines, some neighborhoods have power lines but most don’t, so it might not like like New York.

Now that you have a new york city, what would really spice it up is if you decorated an apartment f.r.i.e.n.d.s style. preferably monica's though. Oml also the architectural tradition in new york of the metal railings would've made it look so realisticcc

The metal stairs on the sides of the buildings are Fire scapes , and you wouldn't necessarily find homeless ppl in there , that you would see most in parks, train stations, or side walks( I know its crazy) , but you could add a Convenience store/ corner store as we call it, a pizzeria, and there is usually small parks/ playgrounds with basketball courts around this buildings

Add a giant rat in the alley, and when I say giant I mean human sized. Also you could add a “subway station” that could just be for show, you could put the entrance behind the alley.
You should add chimneys and or little what are they called. They're like sticks. Kinda like a weather vane. That might be stupid lol but you are an amazing builder and keep up the great work.

Not gonna lie, I'm trying to build a NYC city replica that's just named 'Central ville' for a sense of originality. I'm terrified of running out of plot data for this town! So far I only have the road-sidewalk stuff, two subways, a reception to the city, and the apartment complex (which i have only the first two apartments done!) So my plan is to build the most important parts for the city first, and if I run out of space, then that would be too bad and the rest would be empty shells of townhouses.
