Love this craft and I have made them before. I found some short pens at DT and put them with the book. I put paper shred in the clear bags from DT and tied it up with a bow and you’re right, they are darling! I would love to receive this as a gift!
6/8/24: To jazz mine up, I print out pictures I like from Pinterest, like old magazine covers of celebrities from back in the day (Vanity Fair, In-Style, Vogue, Bazaar, and even Playboy! - for my guy friends who like that stuff, LOL!), and some current celebrities too. They actually wind up looking like mini magazines when done and they're definitely a conversation piece! I've even used personalized pictures of people I know (singles, couples, kids, family photos w/the dog, etc.) that I download in my computer and print out. And for kids, I print their favorite cartoon characters (Disney), or singing person/group, etc. (also from Pinterest). I size and cut them at 4.4" (height) by 3.15 (width) and glue them to the front cover w/2-sided tape around the edges of the pic and then Art Glitter glue all around it and in the middle. (We know how important it is to glue them down tight.) I then glue decorative papers to the back cover of the book and inside covers with the same method. I sometimes put in little pockets on the inside cover, boxed or diagonally. And to really make them pop, I put some bling here and there. If there's any paper overage, I cut it very close to the cover and then use a color coordinated marker to color the edges all the way around. I love your technique and the way yours came out. They're very pretty. From one crafter to another, I thought I'd share my idea with you, but no matter which way we doll them up, they come out looking SO nice. Thanks for sharing yours. It was fun to watch! ❤
@@SmilebyHolly Absolutely! I enjoyed your technique too and learned something new from it. However, please do try what I shared 'cause, not only are you gonna LOVE it, but you're gonna come up with so many new ideas from it that, when you do, please share them with me. THANKS!! 😊
I had to order the mini comp books from the dollar tree cause I did not find them in the 3 stores I visited and did not want to go to Walmart or Target who also carries them. But they are beautiful and I plan to use them as treat bag inserts for a 40th bday. You can add pockets on the inside or outside too. Thanks for sharing, I'm still debating on how to cover them, seen many different ways and yours and the other lady which I can't remember her name, works too for me. Hope the mini's get here in time told they be here in 7 days+.
wonderful I came across! I would like to see one for the measurements of a standard composition book that the kids use in school! About the round corner edger--how do you know what size to use? Dont they come in different sizes?
I saw this one but its not for the composition notebook. I gonna keep my eyes open for it--I would love to see you do a wrap around for the school size one!@@SmilebyHolly
