    The original reason for minting a 20 cent coin rather than a 25 cent coin was so that all Canadian silver coins would have equivalent values to British silver coins. 5 cents was equivalent to threepence, 10 cents to sixpence and 20 cent to 1 shilling. 1 Dollar was worth 1 Crown/5 shillings/0.25 Pounds.

    So, they are also called Canadian quarters. Thanks for the information. Also thanks for the other info. Canada has a rich history that i didn't even know about. You would never know that today. It just seems like a generic western country (like the USA) with no "visible discernible culture". The way you described the coins, I felt like it was a history lesson from traditional Great Britain lol.
