I'm still confused on how shek honor works. Is it that they aren't allowed to return until they reach trimuph or they can't be the sole survivor of a squad?
TL;DR: Shek seek glory through combat victories, and ultimately, death in combat (in triumph). The ultimate honor for Shek is to die in battle surrounded by the hordes of their fallen enemies. Before this, Shek fight constantly to train their combat skills, seeking to be the strongest and most powerful warriors. Much of this stems from their role as enforcers, the rest from the culture arising from it. Losing without dying in battle is the most dishonorable experience a Shek can have, with those survivors getting their horns cut off and forced to give up the sword (becoming laborers and such). Now one might ask how honorable it is to be surrounded by walls, defenses, and the overwhelming numbers on your side (highlighted by me using highly increased population and related settings) - which is what Xane is struggling with. Is honor merely an excuse to slaughter those weaker than you, an antiquated notion of glory... or something more?
