Okay here’s my story: The avengers (including you) all went on a mission and you were put in charge to protect the civilians and get them out of harms way. Unfortunately a few people get hurt / killed on your patrol and you get upset. When you get back to the compound you go to your room, a few minutes later you hear a knock at your door and you let the person come in. It’s Nat. You tell her how much of a failure you feel like and how you don’t deserve to be on the team because you can complete a simple task. She comforts you and then tells you if a time she couldn’t protect someone and that she feels the same way sometimes. Sorry it isn’t the best I improvised this as it played ❤️

You locked yourself in your room as soon as you arrived back at the compound, and Natasha came to check on you and hopefully make you feel better. 0.36 “I did. Doesn’t explain why you’re here though.” 0.44 “I’m always alone. Forever and always…*sigh* alone. *pause* That’s what I was built for.” 1.10 “What I was trained for, was to be a killing machine. A weapon. A damn monster. *pause* That’s what I am, and that’s all I’ll ever be… *pause* there’s nothing that could change that, and there’s nothing that could change what I’ve done.” 2.08 “my parents handed me over like a Christmas present. They probably knew I was rotten from the beginning. *pause* A broken child that wasn’t fit to be a perfect daughter/son. Chucked away into the Red Room. *pause * I have nothing, but the scars they gave me.“ 3.06 “Yeah, bet you look terrible in them now. *sarcastically laughs while looking at the floor* Nat, I’m just a Widow. And not even the best of them either. *pause* I’m a pathetic Black Widow, who’s murdered and beaten innocent people for a man who simply told me to do it. I’m a fool, I’m a f*****g idiot and I am worthless. The truth is, I should let myself be killed in their training.” 3.59 “I’m not a good person.” *both sit in silence for a moment thinking about what each other had said* 5.30 “How… How do you do it? Can we wipe out that much red? *pause* Nat, between me and you, we’ve filled Olympic swimming pools with the blood we have shed. My ledger is brimmed, filling, flooding over with red. I’m drowning in the blood, and I can’t just wipe it out. The things I have done… I could never redeem myself. No one could ever forgive me for the things I’ve- *pause* I can’t. I… I can’t hide from it. I can’t forget it. I can’t move past it. Those people… their deaths are on my hands. How could anyone forgive me for that? 6.48 “Of course, Nat. I trust you with my life!” *She smiles at you and takes your hand in her own, letting your attached hands lay on her lap comfortably. She gave it a gentle squeeze before talking again.* 7.40 *tears drip from your eyes, and you lay your head on her shoulder. She lets you cry into her, holding you close.” 7.46 “*whisper* You’re my family.” ***BONUS*** Nat: “You’re my family, too. You will find comfort, and you will eventually redeem yourself. I’m still working on mine, but I know that doing good in this world is so much better than what Dreykov had us do. Believe me Y/N, you will find peace… And I’ll be with you every step of the way.”
This is actually pretty soothing- but it also breaks my heart as someone who has (literally, no idea exaggeration) seen Endgame around 250 times or even more. Long depressing story.
POV: Having just returned from a long mission, after being patched up by Bruce you tucked yourself into a nest of blankets, pillows and sorrow. The mission didn't go as planned lives were lost, most importantly the life of the love of your life. Before your very eyes he sacrificed himself for all of you. But why did it have to be him? He promised you he would return home with you, not that he specified how he would come back home with you. You miss your Pietro.
Natasha. I swear it was an accident I got out of my field of view, and it was too late I tried, but you know how dumb teenagers are. It was a hard to swallow pill, but it was either keep the rest of them safe, or go out to save a few and you know risk them all flooding out I knew I couldn’t do both and I knew you were all preoccupied at the time, so I knew that they were going to have to die. It’s a hard to swallow grow, but as they say in the greater good usually prevails. But I’m trying to say is that we may have lost a few lives, but we saved a lot more than we lost. Do I wish I could’ve saved them. Yes, but sacrifices have to be made in this line of work it’s not as easy as you think it is
