This is a re-edit of my original music video "Big Blue Dress". Many people have been asking for me to upload a better version to TH-cam now that it supports higher resolutions and wide screen. Also since I've started using TH-cam to post my videos, some people wanted them all in one place. In converting this old video to wide screen, I actually had to edit it from scratch because just trimming the original didn't work as you might expect. As a result, there are some minor differences between this video and the original. Since I was doing it from scratch, I did change a few things that you might notice. However, I tried to keep these changes very small.
For you machinimators out there, I strongly recommend that you archive your footage and your project files because you never know when you might want to do something like this.
I wrote this song and shot all the footage in 2005. Not only was this before the Burning Crusade expansion pack, but also it was before the first "mage love" patch which made the mage more powerful. So please don't focus on the numbers you'll see in this video. The video was never about the critical hits. If I could have removed that text, I would have. In some cases I was able to because I was using a "camera man", but in other cases it was live footage with the UI turned off (try it some time), but I couldn't turn off the damage numbers. That said, these crits were about as good as it got in early 2005. I could have gone bigger with trinkets and arcane power, but this was considered bad form in videos at the time.

How do you fly?
That's not flying. That's falling with style. :) In this video, most of the flying is performed by casting Slow Fall, a mage spell that causes you to ... fall slowly. Then I mount up on my epic mount and run and jump off a cliff. You can jump from the Lumbermill to the Blacksmith in Arathi Basin, for example.
How do you cast a giant fireball while moving/flying?
The mage talent "Presence of Mind" (aka "POM") causes your next cast to be instant. So I cast this spell and then cast Pyroblast. Since it's instant, you can cast it while moving/flying.
What's that white horse? Where do you get it?
The white stallion was the original human epic mount. It's no longer available in game. Only those who kept their original epic mount still have one.

I wrote the song, I go by "Cranius", and I made the original music video as well as this new version here. I didn't upload the original version to TH-cam, though some other people did.

I remember jamming out to this when it first came out. Had an entire WoW playlist. Guess I felt nostalgic over the days when WoW was great. So here I sit, jamming out.

My brother was trying to get me into WOW but had no interest then he leaned over and said watch Big Blue Dress. Finally I watched and was hooked! Sadly in 2011 my baby brother passed away but the moment I watch this I can still hear him say watch Big Blue Dress and remember the cheering I did as he laughed yelling I got ya. Lol yep I still play today and play the video often. Thank you for the memories!

Where is Cranius today? =/ I've left high school, college, have moved half a world away, and gray hairs are beginning in my beard. It's been so long since I first discovered this with my dad who also used to play wow. This was me and my high-school friends anthem for like a year.

The legion one is pretty consistent.
Well vanilla Fire mage was Fireball spam, Fireblast when on the move and instant pyro everytime PoM was ready. That's...It.
And the 384923 utility spells and buffs. Which weren't fun to me atleast.

I remember when this was new...oh man, those were some times!
For anyone unfamiliar with WoW back then...you had to have over 2k health to like be considered "safe" from getting one or two shot combo'd (and thats just to not immediately die). So consider the fact that you are seeing 1.4k crits from PoM+Pyro to be actually be REALLY significant damage.
TH-cam needs a TH-cam classics section and this should be in there for sure a piece of history
