Mathematical Odegbami was a wonderful and skilful player both with IICC Shooting Stars and the Super Eagles. In terms of goalkeeping, neither Best Ogedengbe nor Emmanuel Okalla were on the same level as Thomas Nkono nor Joseph-Antoine Bell (JAB).
BTW, Nkono was not between the sticks when Cameroon won the AFCON in 1984 and 1988. It was JAB.
Furthermore, Emma Okala did not win the Ballon d'or throughout his career as GK of the Eagles or Enugu Rangers International. Nkono won the ballon d'or in 1979 and 1981.
Patriotism apart, football analysts should cite accurate facts before commenying on same.
I say so because I am well-grounded in the history of African football. I learned a lot from Journalists such as Denis Liwewe (Zambia), Sebastian Ofurum, Ernest Okonkwo(Nigeria), Willie Chindo(Cameroon) and Jean Karim Fall (Senegal).
I'm in the same age bracket as Segun Odegbami whom I saw destroy Tonnerre Kalara Club by toying with Nlend Paul in the late 70s. Truth be told.
Nigeria midfield has just 5 players , i see no reason why we have to choose 25 players instead of 27 we could have added one under 20 midfielder for progress and one good home based midfielder just to learn.

Overlook Nigeria at your own peril. This is a tournament...don't judge Nigeria based on qualifiers. Our attack is scary and we will fix our defence and goalkeeping situations. Nigeria is the team to beat. Mark my words!

We don't value what we have..Bassey, Bright, Saidu, Ekong are good defenders..Alhassan, Iwobi and Aribo are good midfielders..the only problem we have is Uzoho and I hope the coach will give Nwabali a chance
Super eagles can't get past the group stage. Good players but very terrible coach for the squad.
