Thank you Toulon for giving our favourite son happiness at last. In England he never loved the game, only feared losing. In France he came alive. Meci Toulon.
Massive Newcastle fan here and I was so gutted to see Jonny leave but it had to be right for him: he’d been such a Talisman for England and hero for Newcastle that I had to pay attention and loved watching him end his career in glory at Toulon. Rather suspect that him speaking French so well meant he melted the hearts of the French who adopted him as their own - and why wouldn’t you?! I know some often put Dan Carter ahead, but for me: he’s my No 10 of all time.
@@dougclark9921of the professional era certainly. But Barry John and Phil Bennett were exceptional too. Much though it pains me to say that as an Englishman. On the plus side Marcus Smith shows some promise. Time will tell.
And yet all that time when i tuned in on a saturday afternoon alll those games i remember where he was amazing he was struggling with mental health. The most admired young man in England at the time loved and adored and yet the pressure be piled on himself nearly broke him. When i read his biography i was almost in tears with my jaw on the floor. We never know anyone really.
@@gordonferrar7782 Absolutely!you never know what someone is going through. He is the ultimate professional and very humble man.I have every respect for him.
I’m a huge fan of Johnny but greatest of all time? Not sure. I think Richie McCaw, Jonah Lomu, Gareth Edwards and Brian O’Driscoll may just want to meet you in the car park, jackets off...
Not to mention Mike Gibson, Barry John, Fran Cotton, Willie John, Eben Etzabeth, Jason Robinson, JPR, Serge Blanco, Colin Meads etc etc. Because of the specifics of the various positions in Rugby Union and the sometimes detrimental and constant law changes it’s very difficult to compare players outside of their time and position. That said Gareth for me.
This excellent player is loved in France untill now and untill death departs. I remember when it was official he is coming , wouaou! Not far away from the national day. Thank's johny for your presence in our land.
Ridiculously good, either foot, saw the picture before it happened, hit like a forward, all heart and vision...yet, the most humble of people. Total legend JW..
Englishman lecturing French players (in Anglo French). Magic! Left foot or right foot didn't matter it was going over that bar. And anyone coming down his channel knew he wouldn't let them through. People remember him for his kicking but he was the best No 10 ever (sorry Mr Carter) simply because of his hard tackling.
What a wonderful tribute, and so well deserved. There cannot be many sportsmen who are loved and admired in two very different counties as Jonny is. Well done
sorry to be so off topic but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me!

Exemplary professional player, fitter than a butchers dog, hard as nails tackler which brought him many injuries which in turn robbed him of many international caps. Top bloke indeed.
Talented, intelligent, humble, articulate and a gentleman. Not just a great ambassador for Rugby but for England. If I could sum him up in one word It would be: Winner.
Thank you for making this - a great player, and very nice to see some of his exploits "overseas" shown - we didn't see much of this shown in England when he was in Toulon.
Inoubliable Jonny, qu'est ce que tu nous manque !!! On attend ton retour en tant que manager, c'est la seule chose qui pourrait m'inciter à me réabonner l'année prochaine...
I remember seeing him once at KX station! I remember everyone used to say little Johnny Wilkinson? Although not tall, he was a wide as a barn door and everything thing on him was muscle. No wonder the could knock you back. Would of been great to see both Carter and Wilkinson play against each other, especially with Dan running at him
Une vrai meneur Jonny, il manque cruellement à ce niveau la, il savait parler aux gars, les motivés, les unir, les transcendé. Merci pour cette vidéo, tu as un abo de plus ;) parce que Toulon
Never his behaviour was the one of a player able to make the difference, always he really WAS that ratio of difference between a good team and a MARVEL. He was able to make seem simple what's extremely difficult. Simply, a marvel. A pleasure, a privilege, saw you, Sir. THANKS.
What people forget is that Toulon also gave Wilkinson in return what he gave them. He’s one of the greatest players in history and had done everything at the international level but had never had the opportunity to be the very best at club level until Toulon. Was perfect finish to his career and well deserved winning European silverware

Brilliant player and brilliant human being by all accounts. This world would be a better place if there were more like him. (And I'm not English, btw)
