As someone who has lived in Florida well over 7 decades, we had some massive storms in the 60's and 70's without all this technology, weeks of warning and available shelters. Of course there were a lot less people so the land was able to absorb the blow, diminishing the destruction, and they immediately devolved when the eye hit land, none of this hurricanes so far inland. I appreciate your clear, precise information delivered with complete professionalism and lack of outside bs. Prayers for all affected.
Ends with “I do have a day job but I will continue to post when I can”…while every post you post is 10x better than any weather forecaster who’s actual day job is to report this hurricane 😂… hands down best weather channel updates on tropical storms and hurricanes ever. Just the facts.
This channel is so much more professional than the "Worst disaster in US history" channels from folks who never cracked a history book in their lives. Posting from North Florida.
Just the facts, please… Thank you! I don’t like tapping into the major sources of weather info and getting all the chatter with unnecessary adjectives and expletives. Appreciate this thorough and helpful FACTS. Thanks from this Tampa Native
Thank you for all your updates! I really appreciate you breaking everything down and explaining it so well. Very relaxing to hear facts instead of drama and emotions.
He's not trying to sell advertisements, so he doesn't have to prioritize fearmongering, sensationalism, and cliffhangers to get you to sit through the commercials.
Really appreciated your broadcast. I used to do Crisis Management for a large wireless communication provider and your presentations are similar to the way I presented my data to our executive directors. Well done!
Smooth and as concise as ever Doc. It's lame that so many folks listen to the loudest of forecaster that entertains instead of clear science. Stay humble and true. 🙂✌️
This channel told us about the new track before anyone I've seen (Tampa area). This is so important as we are STILL thinking of more we can do to protect ourselves. Its very exhausting and stressful. But good to know these videos await us.
Why is the eyewall landfall always quoted as the time to expect? That means half of the storm is already passed. People hear “Wednesday night” and think they still have time. It baffles me to this day and it has always been like this. Officials need to focus on the approximate time the winds and rain are going to get bad, which could be several hours at least before landfall. Stop focusing on the eyewall so much.
thank you for your coverage. would you consider doing a video when the season is over talking about the storms and forecasts and models, what we got right and what we got wrong and anything we may have learned?
This was very sane and well informed. The only thing missing is an opinion on the upcoming US presidential election. How am I supposed to know who to blame for this?
Approaching the 10 year anniversary of Sandy, which storm from a meteorologist's perspective was more powerful, the hurricane of 1938 or Hurricane Sandy?
As a PhD and a science educator, this is how scientific communication is done. It is difficult at best to sort or wade through the rest… to much info is tainted by click $
Why does the movement of the hurricane speed up as it approaches the shore? Is it the subtropical jetstream pushing it forward to the East while also shearing it?
Different factors. Could be wrong, but I don’t think there’s a relationship there. Plenty of other cases where the opposite happened. Harvey comes to mind.
ngl but there is absolutely zero reason Levi should be under 100k subs, easily one of if not THE best source of info we have
I've done my part. I've been subscribed for years now.
im subbed, but a lot of ppl just wait for drudge to link, which they always do
@@chillpillologydrudge?
How’s he compare to Ryan hall yall?
@@JFEnterprize Ryan is more tv weatherman while Levi is scientific but digestible. Levi helps you understand why things are happening.
You are the ONLY one that I watch during a storm during hurricane season Much love for you in Key West, Florida.
Your videos and website are really appreciated, thank you for what you do.
I appreciate that - thank you
Clearest and sanest updates I've seen - appreciate you.
The future NHC director... Dr. Levi Cowan! Keep up the amazing work!
You are the man. The absolute best source of information I have found on the internet. Thank you so much for what you do.

@@M_2_X I know!!! Levi is the one who SHOULD be on television. He is too honest I guess.
@@erinbacker4793in the 80s he definitely would be on TV.
His day job is reporting on hurricanes as well.

Regardless of how it turns out hopefully the metro centers will be largely unaffected, so people can get out & vote for Kamala

It’s been a pleasure watching your website grow as you got your PhD over the past decade!

Thanks for continuing to do these! It’s so helpful to have your calm and clear deep dives.
Been watching for years and love the in-depth analysis consistently provided. Prayers for siesta key - posting from Sarasota
Was just on the website looking for an update and you post this.
Brilliant timing as always, thanks for watching out for us all!
Thanks for cutting through the hype machine, Levi!
Thank you Levi, your videos are the best and most informative!
These are so much better than reading the Forecaster’s Discussion.
tell me why a dude with laptop and power point is more informative than all of the major news networks combined

Thanx for the coverage Levi. Great job as usual. And like you said, the forecasting is done. It's time to let this take it's course.
Thank you for taking the time out to post!
We love you Levi! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for getting straight to the point with the info.
You're what I've been waiting for all morning
One hell of a storm. Thank you Dr. Levi for all you do for us. Thoughts and prayers out for all being impacted by this monster.
Ty for all you do. It saves lives.
Thank you Dr Cowan. Our ipentire team watches every post: not compulsory, compulsive viewing.

Best thing about your forecasts, No Spin ! 😃
No jokes, just stay safe everybody
Thanks again for the update from Ormond Beach area your the best 🙏
Late this morning e picked up a handful of tornadoes on the East coast from Broward up to Martin County on the east coast.
This was very sane and well informed. The only thing missing is an opinion on the upcoming US presidential election. How am I supposed to know who to blame for this?
It is refreshing (altho it should be expected and the standard) to watch a reasoned, scientific, non- political analysis of an incoming hurricane.
Thank you, Dr. Levi!
Thanks Levi!!
Thanks for everything Dr Levi, Much appreciated!
As always, thanks Levi!
Very glad I stumbled on this channel. So hard to find good information

Thankyou so much
This is the best discussion.
Thanks Levi!👀🌀
ughhhh… It’s getting real here! Thank you sweetheart😔
Do u think once hitting ocean side with warmer water it can turn to nc coast
Is Polk County a safe place to be at during the hurricane season?
where is it going to hit? is there any chance it tracks south of bradenton?
Classic October Gulf Hurricane dirty to the northside
Opinion on the possibility of a sting jet?
Thanks 🙏🏻
Approaching the 10 year anniversary of Sandy, which storm from a meteorologist's perspective was more powerful, the hurricane of 1938 or Hurricane Sandy?
Seems ironic that Milton wrote Paradise Lost
In SWFL just went through multiple tornadoes on the ground all around us. It’s just raining now and breezy.

The shear is due to dry air getting in to the core
Right on the money. The storm degraded a decent amount.
Got super lucky i think. I live further up north and was still expecting it to get much nastier here.
What Area Is This Hurricane Coming On, Thank You Much!
May need further updates in a day or two if Milton reorganizes and heads towards Bermuda.
Thank you pray for us in northern Polk County

My friend went to Orlando will he be ok

Doing a landfall video would be good, i'm here on SW Florida. It looks like the southern eyewall has collapsed as of 2:30pm.
As the eye disintegrates, wouldn't most of its cloud structure drive more eastward?
What is Levi's day job ?
2 things are important to know right away on a hurricane update. Wind speed and barometer.
